Which is why Ryu fires massive lasers out of his hands in crossover games and Mike Haggar can jump 300 feet in the air while punching Galactus to death.
Random memory: The first thing I noticed in XvSF was how enormous ryu’s fireballs (not even the lasers) had gotten.
Edit: On the other hand, Marvel apparently pitched an epic fit over how wrong Capcom got their characters in the '90s.
ALL of this power level stuff will be determined by style sheets sent over from DC. It’s not really up to NRS at all.
Sorry, I didn’t properly express my sentiment the first time. Here, let me amend my statement.
The key to making good crossovers is powering down the strongest people so everyone has a convincing chance.
I’m talking in terms of fighting games.
Marvel can eat a dick then lol. Sentinel, Sabertooth, Blackheart, Mag, Spiral, and some others were cool as hell.
Omega Beans, lol, I can’t stop laughing.
Can’t Flash move at the speed of light or some shit? THAT is impossible in the first place, but to then have someone that can outrun light without it noticing? That’s one of the reasons I can’t stand DC comics, too many overpowered niggas.
Then you still don’t know what you’re talking about, because Marvel was working with EA Chicago when they were developing a 3d, behind-the-back fighting game (if Virtual On style) in 2007. Marvel has not expressed any particular affinity for 2d sprites over 3d assets, and unless you’re talking about moving into the social/mobile space, the era of AAA 2d games is long over (and a Marvel vs. DC crossover would most certainly be AAA). 2d games will continue to be produced with smaller studios and with smaller sales expectations.
If you are talking about gameplay taking place on a 2d plane, Marvel does not give a single shit. That sort of decision is not something they would likely be involved with.
A lot, if not all, of that has been toned down considerably, often multiple times. It was a different era ><
nothing in a crossover is ever about making sense. but its about style. batman is simply not something we would normally associate with sending people flying through a skyscrapper, just like superman won’t do chun-li’s lightning kicks or kill you with his Super Fart. Not because there is no way or alternate reality or explanation that would allow him doing those things, but because it wouldn’t fit with the image of superman.
they might have an explanation to why batman could kick a dude through a building involving the armor or whatever, but i think that’s not the case, as you can see him pulling flash by the feet with his rope in a screenshot using a makeshift pulley scheme but if he’s super strong why not swing flash around and smash him instead. this is likely some canned animation that works for every character so far. consider how the move that sends grundy flying is a kick that would in no way send him upwards at all, probably even downwards.
if this is true, capcom deserved every bit of it. what they did to magneto is fucking horrendous
Well DS is basically a multi-dimension god who’s so powerful that only his avatar can exist in this universe(hence why he uses the boom tubes)so it isn’t entirely out of character for him to speed blitz flash. Flash can basically move as fast as he needs to but it is possible to catch him off guard if the person in question is able to move relatively similar in speed…not that DS is as fast but its a bit more believable with him as opposed to someone like bats or slade doing it. DC has a serious issue with their top tiers…way to many god-tier characters to write for.
I don’t think you can even call this a crossover anyways, it’s a shared universe.
And that 3D game that EA Chicago made was complete and total ass. And yet there was never a Marvel fighting game made in that style since then. All i’m saying is that a DC fighting game for what they’re trying to do would resonate a bit better in that Vs. series style. I can suspend belief in video games but at least in a Vs. style setting, Batman fighting the likes of Solomon Grundy would come across better than what was in the trailer.
The game being ass doesn’t invalidate a 3d game in that style. I hate how a game will try something new or different or some unique feature, the game sucks due to the developers not fully thinking through and alleviating any potential flaws, then this attitude comes about as if the idea itself was the problem. If anything a fighter in that kind of style(Anarchy Reigns?) would work really really work with these style of characters if it was done right. Think Twisted Metal with all the environmental destruction that game has but with people and a focus on melee combat. It would prolly fit better if only because comic characters tend to have so much collateral damage when they fight(much like DBZ characters), so the game reflecting that helps a TON visually.
That would sick. Not really caring if it is a “tourney” worthy fighter but if it was like a stage like that, it would be sick to have Spider-Man and Batman swinging around while Supes, Storm, Ironman are flying around with Juggernaut running through shit, Hulk hopping and Flash zipping around HNNNGH

Doesn’t surprise me. Many of the characters in those were out of the character in those games.
It’s kind of amazing that they were able to get that domain, as compared to some Free Mumia site.
I did decide before I say anymore I’ll see gameplay
untill then rose Wilson please
Cyborg can hit that hard, he’s no where near superman level strength but he’s pretty fucking strong, at least strong enough to punch through a tank.
I didn’t say he should 1-hit i’m saying he’s strong, so he should be a big damage when he gets in sort of character with a few zoning tools.
thats like if the Hulk had a bunch of guns and gadgets on his back and you saying “He has all of those guns, why would he be a strong brawler”
of course he isn’t going to be all punching all the time, he isn’t a damn boxer, but super strength and up close fighting is just one the things he does best.
and if you want to use cartoons as examples, Mr. Justice Leage: Doomed
2:42 and all the other Cyborg parts:

Ahhhh… that whole Raven season was epic. But that finale. DAT FINALE!
Anyways… were you watching it? “Cyborg”, as in, not Evil Cyborg, only threw a physical attack once. Every other time he attacked was his Sonic Cannon, his Missiles… yeah, he only had two weapons. And the only time he punched was against an insignificant threat. He is at least 80-90 percent a zoning character, it doesn’t matter how physically strong he is. And, uh… I think it’s funny that you mention the Hulk…

So… yeah… The Hulk… and he always resorted to those weapons over hitting something. I think he actually NEVER hit something. Oh, and your analogy was different. Cyborg isn’t a hulking savage whose first instinct is to smash, and I want to change him into an intellectual fighter whose first instinct is to turn to weapons. Cyborg is an intellectual fighter whose first instinct is to use weapons, and you want to change him into a hulking savage whose first instinct (up close) is to smash. He’s not going to GET IN, he’s going to keep you at a distance with his weapons, and when his opponent gets in he’ll use gadgets he has made to get them off. That is just how he fights. He would only naturally use his fists if all of his weapons were somehow neutralized. Why can I say that? Because he’s an intelligent man. Weapons can do more damage than punching something can, and they are safer to the user. So? He has made weapons for every close situation he can get in, and has perfected the long ranged ones. That’s just HOW HE IS!
I’m sorry, you keep saying he can punch through a Tank. Where did you see that? I haven’t seen him do this.
