Injustice: Gods Among Us; New Game by NetherRealm Studios

good lord you 2.

Young customers? Kids don’t by comics anymore. Availability of them ain’t what it used to be. Also, the Longbow Hunters series was for mature readers and mature subject matter will be a common occurrence. It shouldn’t be shied any from because you don’t like it.

we learned like 20 pages ago that Mendis has a 4-5 post competency rating. I’m not sure if Hawkingbird is new or just forgetful.

The consumer base for comics are largely college age, the "young readers"demographic is a misconception.

DC ans marvel would be better served completely forgetting the "kids"altogether, and for thr most part most lf their main lines of book alreadg have.

You guys should maybe have some kids before you talk about what kids do, plenty of kids still read comics.

The problem is that animes and mangas took over. More young people are reading mangas and watching animes, than they’re reading superhero comics and watching superhero related shows.
Especially in other countries. I live in Germany and over here no one knows who Captain America is, even though he had a movie. People here would ask if that’s your new nickname for Obama.

So it’s understandable that most of the people here don’t think that young people are not reading comics, simply because more young people are reading mangas and animes, but you’re right. Youngsters are still reading comics and that’s a good thing.

Besides that, writing stories for superhero comic books is a much more complicated task than writing stories for your average anime.
There is a huge difference if you have an anime like Narutard with Narutard being the outcast of his village and loving a girl who loves someone else, who hates his brother, because he hates and kills everyone else and there is also that nice girl from the next door who loves Narutard, but he is too fucking plot-device-retarded to actually realize that and so on, and so on - then there is also some ugly emo-fuck who calls himself Pein and then there is also a good boi.

And then you have comics, which show superheroes seeing the Twin Towers crashing and trying to help as good as they can, but being pretty much helpless in the end of the day.
Civil War? Brilliant story.
Superman - Peace on Earth? Brilliant.
Sentry - Volume 1? Brilliant.
Silver Surfer - Requiem? Brilliant.
Batman - Year One? Brilliant.

And basically non of these named comics came up with rape, and they were still more than enjoyable.
Mainstream animes also don’t come up with rape. Why not? Because it’s fucking NOT common and NOT accepted by the largest majority of the readers.

Wasn’t here a fool making fun of me, because I started this debate about rape being unneccessary in comics? Don’t worry fool, I forgive you. I forgive every fool.
I don’t want to discuss about the topic, because it’s stupid and for some part even disgusting, since it doesn’t do fictional characters justice.

What I mean by that?
There is a yellow Lantern … what’s her name … Karu-Sil I think. Her background-story is short, but it’s really cool. The constructs she creates are related to the story. She is a blast and a better character than Bleez. At least in my opinion. Oh and guess what! No rape was involved!

I’m not forgetful. I had my spats with the guy 20 pages ago. I already had my say on the matter. I don’t plan to continue

You are just the dumbest fucking ass.

NRS needs to stop this candy bullshit and reveal something already.

Marvel does make comics for kids, it’s called The Super Hero Squad

You want to read The Hood? It says right there parental advisory. Your parents should supervise what you read. We shouldn’t get deprived of darker subjects, like rape, because someone not old enough could read such comic (I don’t approve btw). I don’t want comics to go back to what they were decades ago where a real evil plan was stealing one million dollars from a bank, to hell with that. Like someone said, we are already past that. Comics have more adult themes, if you will, and I see no problem with them.

I know about the Nightwing rape but when did the goddamn Batman get raped?

He’s likely talking about the story “Batman & Son”. Batman told Tim that Talia date raped him and that’s how Damien was conceived. Morrison admitted he didn’t read the Son of the Demon story before writing it and fucked up a lot of details.

That sounds…awful. Like, “I wanted the world to burn so I made this awful but fucked up and it ended up even worse than I wanted” awful.

I just don’t see how someone can say Batman is the worst of the popular character while dickriding Sentry. That is completely ass backwards.

Batman’s books (even the event going on now with Joker’s return) are consistently some of the best. I’ll give honorable mention to Aquaman (starting reading and surprised how good it is), Wonder Woman (Very underrated book), GL’s book the last year or so, Uncanny X-Force, and keep hearing good thing about Swamp Thing so I’ll count that one.

Rape has a place in comics imo just don’t change a character’s history into a rape story when they’re already established and already have strong traits to build off of. It’s lazy, pathetic writing.

The Walking Dead is a good example of it being used in a way that fits the story, tone, and characters.

The answer to your question is within the changes I gave your post.

Edit: beyond that, most batman stories are just lazy. We get it he’s totally awesome and also dark and spooky.

Well Sentry’s not unpopular for no reason.

Triple Negative!

Honestly, its' kind of refreshing to see him getting some love. I always loathed the character on multiple levels, but it's less senseless if some people like him :D

they should really just kill batman. He’s got way more than enough universe to sustain itself in his absence.

They kinda did that with the whole Batman R.I.P thing. As Battle For Gotham shows, having no Batman will make it a bigger cesspool than it already is

no i mean actual killed, you know, with writing. a thing they don’t do anymore. batman is a useless character now. its almost a joke. he should go. forever.

Yeah, let’s just kill every A-Lister since all of them are hated in their own way. See how the DCU shakes up after that.
