I really don’t see how Nightwing isn’t A list. If your talking comics importance his role in the titans for multiple decades is some people fav part of pre 52. If you mean name reconition and popularity how about how he has been constantly represented in multiple animated shows and is often the primary focus of whatever show he’s on even when it’s about a team (Teen titans, Young justice, etc).

Hell as soon as he was annouced for this game most people knew who he was and he’s been one the most picked characters. I’ve seen more gameplay of Nightwing than I have for Superman and Nightwing is a stance change character which usually very unpopular.

I don’t agree that a character needs lesser versions to be A list and even then you could consider the other robins as his ripoff versions. They even had Damien as his actual sidekick while Bruce was “dead”.

I think the fact that people are complaining about the lack of “underrated” characters says alot about the ones confirmed already. Imo characters like Cyborg, GA, NW are more known than they given credit for.

They showed him as Nightwing on an episode of Teen Titans and he became Nightwing and leader of the team again after only one season of Young Justice so I think it still stands.

He’s always a big focal point on shows even Batman TAS had like 7 episodes where he was the focus of. Nightwing is a pretty big deal imo and DC always seems to give him strong showings.

And don’t get me wrong, he’s an extremely significant character in the DC universe, and honestly one of my favorites… just the whole ‘definition of A-list’ thing fascinates me for some reason, and I’m stuck on the concept of ‘Dick as Robin is A-list but Dick as Nightwing isn’t, isn’t that bizarre?’

Like I said before, I think nightwings inclusion in a lot of other media makes him beyond the B-list bracket. In the general cosmos of worldy culture he might not be A-list, but in geek culture(comics,video games,tv)he is very well known. Again i think it’s just coming down to different opinions on what should define a A-lister, but as stated I personally think he qualifies.

As much as i’d like to kick the shit out of someone with Black Adam(who isn’t even confirmed for this game) I think NRS should have just did a Batman fighting game.

The plot could be something simple, Joker busts out of Arkham with some of the guys (maybe Harley, Croc, Scarecrow, Mad Hatter, Clay face, and Two-Face) and Batman with the help of Robin(Tim Drake), Nightwing, Catwoman, The Creeper, and Mr. Freeze(I dunno, Joker took his wife again, like in AC) try to take them all down. Grundy, the Penguin, Bane, and Ivy are also around Gotham fucking shit up for their own reasons. The Ghul’s are some how involved or something, along with other familiar faces.

And people wouldn’t bitch about the roster so much because Batman’s major villain list is small enough to be fit into one fighting game roster.

Rocksteady didn’t have a problem coming up with varied playstyles for all the playable characters in the Arkham games. They can do it then a fighting game developer definitely can.

Jason>Damien>Dick=Tim>Everyone else

Also the flash only has 1 worthy villain and that’s zoom.

Flash’s villains aren’t on Batman’s lvl, Cap Cold is only a real threat to Flash when he has his team with him otherwise the flash should always be able to speedblitz him unless he sets up a trap ahead of time.

I think Zoom is the only scary one, if Zoom was a real person I would be constantly paranoid. Not because he’s villains aren’t good, but because Flash has done things that would put him on a god like lvl.

BTW Dick > Batwoman > all other bat spin offs. Also I still believe Nightwing is already A list with Arrow and Cyborg are going to be soon. Both have shows coming up.

Well I agree that he is one of the only villains (along with professor zoom) that makes the flash push himself (constantly having to borrow speed to keep up with him and such), the rest of the rogues are scary in their own right (most of them are obscenely broken,and should be capable of one shotting him if he actually did slow down a little) it is hard to find an opponent for the flash, aside from just using superspeed (like in the case of prof zoom and zooms power acts this way in it’s use), as otherwise the result tends to be either he should win the fight instantly or he shouldn’t win the fight at all.

It’s more of a weakness of the flash as a character (still in my top 5 though) than of his villains. That said quality wise his villains are easily on the level of Batman (whether they are above, below or even is of course entirely subjective, hell I can’t really decide, depends on the day really)

Why would they have 3 robins? Tim, Jason, and Dick weren’t all Robin at the same time.

A few very, very simple ideas.

Tim Drake(like Nightwing in this game’s staff stance), Batman(like he is in this game, maybe more melee attacks), Catwoman(same as this game), Mr. Freeze(Keep away), Killer Croc(slow heavy hitter), Joker(same as whatever he’s like in this game), Two-face(well rounded and with multi directional dual pistol projectiles, and some sort of 50/50 gimmick with his super or something), Harley(same as in this game), Ivy(keep away, a lot of pokes, has stun moves, control altering moves, and screen altering moves for the afflicted), Ra’s(sort of slow, sword based moves, good at mid-range), Clayface(slow, trap character, crazy projectiles, a lot of stuff is possible with this guy), Zsasz(very fast, fights with a knife, low health), Nightwing(like himself in this game but with the dual sticks only), Penguin(Pokes, projectiles, slow walk speed, has a move where is umbrella opens up and deflects projectiles), Grundy(same as in this game), Bane(Grappler/Brawler, slow walk, good dash), Manbat(has a flying stance, sonar projectiles, Sindel’s scream move to stun, mid-speed, good air mobility), Riddler(Pokes with the cane, trap character), Scarecrow(has stun moves, control altering moves, and screen altering moves for the afflicted, low health), Deadshot(very projectile based keep away, not so good upclose), Red Hood(good up close, has a lot of mix-up combos, very few projectiles, brutal attacks).
