NRS have been pretty bad when it comes to how they release info. The majority of MK9’s pre-release info came from leaks.
I hope someone gets on those leaks then.
I really hope they include a lot of underrated characters.
Leaks can kill hype, honestly hope leaks don’t happen TOO early. Actually Boon has been steadily releasing info on this game bit by bit so far
Depends on the context of the leaks. Sometimes they really do kill hype. Other times they help out when little information comes out. Lastly there’s the UMvC3 kind where everything was released at once, probably saved Capcom extra months of “Where the hell is Megaman” abuse, and let people get excited over possible playstyles rather than throwing darts at possible inclusions.
Preferably, leaks would be bad because we’d be getting a nice steady stream of info. Pretty much up to whoever is in charge of previews and such. What we have from Infamous right now isn’t too shabby all considering. It’s not Marvel 3 level with Reveal video plus extra gameplay, but they’ve done a decent job showing us snippets of what certain characters can do.
You’ve been getting trolled by boon bit by bit you mean. Seriously man Boon is a troll king and rarely gives actual information.
This Mendis dude has to be a troll or is shooting for 1st place in the next worst poster poll thread. Maybe both either way he has been proven wrong by multiple posters.
It’s time to just ignore him.
I like how Mendis hasn’t replied to any of the logical arguments that have been made, and is instead just misinterpreting and getting into a shouting match with Pterodactyl. Good stuff.
I was thinking about Cyborg’s heal a bit earlier, and I realized it’d actually be useful if it had really short start-up and could be canceled out of easily, so you could do things like cancel recovery animations by activating heal and then cancelling out of heal to continue the combo.
I’ve said it before, if mk9 hadn’t had that master .dat file in the demo half the cast would’ve been unknown until like a week before release, as well as half the actual in game content, all the secret boss fights, all the kombat codes, and the existence of babalities. Characters like Jade and Baraka never even got a “formal” reveal, they’d just randomly pop up in a combo showcase or mkast like oh hey, look who got 5 seconds of footage in between Scorpion and Sub Zero going at it for the fiftieth time. And with DC really only having a new Superman movie to pimp with it, Injustice is not liable to be any different.
Its ludicrous, but it works. And they’ve been doing it since Armageddon. Everybody hangs on their every word like crack addicts and it lets them say literally whatever they want at tradeshows and interviews because nobody actually knows anything.
That said, follow rigo or hecteriffic or hans lo or even pesina. You’ve got a way better shot at one of them confirming/leaking something than boon, he’s a troll-machine.
Edit: Not Hans, he’s useless. Follow Paulo Garcia he actually works on gameplay. He’s the only person to actually mention Meter Burn (EX Moves) so far.
I actually wouldn’t mind not knowing some characters until release. MvC3 had a lot of leaks before it came out, and Capcom even officially showed the “hidden unlockable” characters in a trailer. I don’t think half a roster should be locked, but if this game came out, and characters like the joker, bane, darksied, etc were in but as unlockables, I wouldn’t mind at all. Just don’t make me kill myself trying to unlock them. I do NOT want to go through arcade mode on the hardest difficulty without getting hit once and then having to do perfect draw timeouts on the final boss for 10 straight rounds so that Jimmy can run on screen and challenge me to a death match.
Entire roster should never be locked. At the very least, they should follow Skullgirls example where the locked characters were playable in Versus mode right off the bat.
Persona 4 arena is also implementing this. Story mode has locked characters, but everything else has all characters ready from the get-go
The game has potential, I definitely wanna play as Harley and Nightwing.
I agree in part. Leaks can kill hype, but at times they can also increase hype.
An example of it killing hype is in SSF4, where the leaks came out before the game was even announced. That killed hype. Another hype killing leak was for UMvC3. If done too early and handled poorly by the company, a leak can kill hype.
However, leaks can also increase hype. MvC3 is a good example of this. We only had Lupinko for leaks, and while he was right in the end, he still presented the leaks in a interesting manner, still keeping the excite factor.
I would argue that the recent leaks for Playstation All stars also is a hype creating leak. First it didn’t give details on what or how everyone played or modes worked, just names. Second, some names looked odd(evil cole), and names were missing(Big Daddy) which caused my confusion and excitement. Last, how Super bot responded to the leaks, saying that they acknowledge them, but also saying that it is outdated and didn’t show everything, creates more hype because everyone starts to wonder what else is there, what has been changed since the code in the data was made, ect.
Why I enjoyed unlocking characters as a kid. Gave me a goal to work for while improving myself at the games. However, as a grown up, I can see the issues it causes. I like how Skullgirls made story modes unlockable, and it looks like P4A is doing this as well. I wouldn’t mind seeing this in Injustice.
However, I would also like to unlock characters for fighting as well. Super secret ones. Perhaps the best way to please both sides would be to have a code you can use to unlock those characters while the system is on, but you would have to re put it in every time. To unlock them fully, you unlock them the normal way in the story/challenge/however they do it. I think this will please both the tourny crowd and the casuals/people who love to unlock stuff(like me)
I’m not looking for beef on the internet and especially not with a (probably) 22 year old.
Loud, young guys on the internet are the ones who are the most silent in real life, when it comes to an actual confrontation, so why even bothering.
Or activate it and zip-line out of the waaaaay!
Any fight where a character has a self-heal can be problematic, if that guy knows how to play and keep his opponents busy. Cyborg VS Harley Quinn is going to be funny. Cyborg heals himself, and Harley gets a useless item, with her special ability.
Its kinda funny that you guys bitch about leaks when the UMvC3 leaks were the best thing to happen for it. I didn’t have to wait 6 months to know whether or not Gene was gonna be in and didn’t have to spend 6 months hearing Mega Man fans clamoring for his reveal. Similarly I got to actually look forward to reveals with curiosity as opposed to dream crushing reluctance.
They might as well just leak the whole cast and then have people vote for which character they want to see next.
Really, you think your argument isn’t going well so you insult your opponent and ignore the argument. Keeping it classy Mendis.
Runaway healing could be interesting, though I doubt Harley will particularly have problems with Cyborg, she seems to have some decent projectiles.
Honestly, I agree with this. Had the UMvC3 leaks not happened, we would’ve had extra months of “WTF, no GENE, NO X?!?!” and “WHY THE HELL IS PW AND RR IN THIS GAME” and all that crap. With the leaks, that was all taken care of right away, and everyone got to settle down and INSTEAD got to get hype over how everyone would play.
When you would know a character’s moveset for the most part when you see them, then the leak is bad. That’s why SSF4’s leaks muffed them in the end, because we knew the characters…we knew for the most part how they would play…at that point it was “well, now what?”. Other than Dudley’s return and figuring out how Hakan would play, there wasn’t much hype on the reveals.
UMvC3 and such got away with it because while we knew who the characters would be, we had no freaking idea on how they could possibly play. Having the leaks took away the anger on who is and isn’t out right away and left the hype on how people would play.
In this particular case, we could know every character but not know how they would play, but at the same time we barely know how the game plays itself so it’s not the biggest factor. Without the knowledge of really how the game plays, then the biggest hype factor is the characters themselves and not so much how they play, so yes as of right now, leaks for Injustice would be bad. Now as time goes on and we actually understand how the game plays, it can turn on itself, but for now, no leaks would be best unless Boon decides to go into troll mode.
All I did in this thread was stating my opinion and giving my thoughts away. And for that I actually got insulted.
I don’t mind being insulted, since if it happens on the internet, where someone is doing it safely behind a computer screen, there is no reason for me to take that serious at all. Therefore I would also not insult anyone and I also didn’t do that in this thread at all.
Defending yourself to a certain extend and trying to show a person that playing the internet-tough-guy is pathetic, is not challenging, or just bashing someone, since it’s a waste of time for both of us. It’s just to show that person that playing the internet-tough-guy is pathetic.
Yeah, she does seem to be interesting, but that’s not exactly what I had in mind.
I’m wondering about the fact that with her special ability she will be able to use some special items and it was stated, that these items also could be something totally useless, so using her special could be strange from time to time, if she doesn’t get anything from it.
But Cyborg will always have his self-heal (if it’s simple as that), and Batman will always summon his Batarangs and use them for the defense or to attack / combo other people. Superman will always get a damage boost. These are good things, but RNG (random-number-generators) should stay out of games. Of course it’s way too early to say that Harley’s special will be less effective because of the RNG factor, but we will see and hopefully very soon.
I still don’t understand why there was more Nightwing and Cyborg content during the ComicCon, even though there is basically no existing footage on Wonder Woman, besides like one short video or something. I’m really looking forward to see more of WW and Harley, since we didn’t see that much.
And to the leaks-debate:
I personally would like to see the entire character-roster, even if the game is coming out in the late 2013.
Hoping for months to see a character in the game and not to have him in the game later on, can be hard.
But I guess NRS will try to keep it hidden even harder than before. They will use the character-revelations to keep the game in the minds of the people, until it arrives. And yeah, Ed Boon likes to troll!
When I read this I actually blurted out “NO, OH MY GOD THIS GUY”
… Are you guys just going to argue back and forth about hype, MK9, and stuff?
Anyway. I was thinking who is pretty much guaranteed/Who I think are good bets to be in this game that hasn’t been announced yet:
Aqua man: While he is made fun of a lot, he is still part of the justice league, and a very famous hero.
Martian manhunter: He is a member of the justice league(Or was, if the wiki is correct), and is very well known, especially if you grew up watching the cartoons.
The Joker: You honestly can’t have a game with batman and harley and not include the joker.
Black Canary: leader of the Birds of Prey, and one of the more popular and powerful female Super heroes.
Hal Jordon:Have to have a green lantern, and he is the most well known.
Green Arrow/Red Arrow: Archers are all the rage right now, and Green Arrow is a very popular one. You can also use Red Arrow if you want to Rep The outlaws.
Starfire: Another member of the popular book the Outlaws, and also a member of the teen titans. While her popularity was… sour after flashpoint, it seems people are likeing her again. Having her in would be a good rep for Outlaws, and teen titans, which hasn’t started yet, but will at some point.
Raven: part of the teen titans since the start, she is probably one of the more famous members. She hasn’t appeared yet, but they said she will when teen titans starts back up. Perfect way to advertise for the manga.
Lex Luthor: We pretty much saw him in the first teaser trailer being zapped by Superman.
Captain Cold/Killer Frost: Flash was fighting an ice villain. Could be Mr. Freeze, but I would pick someone not from batman. That leaves Captain Cold, Killer Frost and many others. Those 2 seem to be the most likely.
That’s 10 characters. Given that we already know of 8, that gives us 18 out of 24. I am not sure on who the other 6 would be, but I have many people I would like(blue Beetle, Hawk and Dove, Poison ivy, and Lobo). I just see these as pretty high chance characters.
cborg not only loses all recovered health if hit during, he appears to take like double damage. If it remains as it is in the comic con vid, its going to be about as useful as mighty speech.
