Shin!? Is that the P-groove Shin I used to play CVS2 with in Lawerenceville out in Discover Mills a few years back? I remember also playing with him at someone’s house out there as well. I think the name of the person’s who owned the house was James if I am not mistaken.
What do you mean by a Brawl head? I’m not very certain what that means.
Just letting everyone know I can really use any of the following if any one could bring it:
PS3 w/ Dark Resurrection
Nintendo Wii w/ Smash Brothers
We are in desperate need of those so if anyone can help out and step forth with that I’d be super appreciate.
Lastly basically any game (that’s not on Dreamcast. . . . I’m sure you all understand why, ha ha ha) would be excellent. We could really use some copies of any of the following games:
Street Fighter Anniversary
Arcana Heart
Guilty Gear
Soul Calibur III
Capcom vs SNK 2
Alpha Anthology
Dead or Alive 4
Virtua Fighter 4
We have a copy of all of these games but having more on deck in case it is necessary would be very reassuring.
And we need at least one more Wii and one more PS3 for Tekken DR as well.
And remember, anyone who brings a game for use at the tournament gets $5 off at the door. I want as many people as possible to take advantage of this offer.
Great, that sounds awesome! I’ll mark you down as bringing this hardware. Since you are bringing this you get free entry.
Remember, anyone else still has a chance for waiving their entry fee (Just the tournament entry fee, not the entry fee for the games that go to the pot) by bringing a Nintendo Wii with Brawl OR an arcade cabinent. MAKE SURE your name is on the list at the beginning of this thread for bringing the hardware/games you are. If you just show up with games and we have no use for them I cannot lower the entry fee for you.
This is Brandon from Atlanta. I live right in the downtown area, and I at the very least can bring a copy of 3s, CVS 2, and Accent Core. I also can bring my PS2. I live one stop from the GWCC.
I would also like to register for the following games:
CVS 2
Accent Core
Third Strike
MVC2 (although Pokchop and Launchpad would guarantee I won’t get far)
Also, for Accent Core, I don’t have a joystick. I can play CVS 2, and 3s without relying on should pads. However, in your rules, I don’t see any specific rule stated for Accent Core and mapped inputs. Is this going to be an issue as far as AC is concerned?
Anyway, hope to see you all at the tourney, look forward to all the shit talking
Unless the rules specifically state that button mapping is allow than button mapping unfortunately is not allowed. Unless the game in the arcade has 3x punch, 3x kick, or two buttons for one button than button mapping is not allowed. We are trying to emulate the arcade as closely as possible. If you have any other questions feel free to post again and also since you are bringing all of that stuff your entry into the tournament is waived.
Hey, Magnicious, I dunno if this crossed your mind, but how does a pre-reg list (like in this forum) sound? It would give people an idea of the size and what they should expect.
It’s on the first page of the thread. I’ve been updating it everytime someone registers. Look at the bottom of the first post of this thread. It has everyone (so far) who has pre-registered and everyone who has said they would bring any equipment to help out the tournament. I am sorry; I kind of snuck it on there without saying anything, my apologies. I wasn’t really expecting too much of a crowd the first time around. That’s why there’s so many games. If I had the crowd size of Final Round and this many games for my venue in one day there’d be no way I coud fit that many games in one day. Next year it will definitely be a two day tournament since I’ll have (hopefully) have built a good reputation, it will probably be far more people.
A tournament DVD will also be made of all the footage but it will not cost that much. I’m going to make it in house so it will be significantly lower than any other tournament DVDs out there. Plus I’ll leak it on the internet as well.
Well we have a microphone with in house sound. So, if someone were to bring a projector and a screen than yes, we can have commentary on players playing against one another. That is a good idea though.
On a different note one thing I can really use is for someone to make me a logo. If anyone would like to volunteer we can discuss monetarily compensation. PM me if you can help.
