To squash all the rumors about how expensive the food is at the World Congress Center. Well, I just had my first tournament in Guitar Hero at the Georgia World Congress Center and I will say the food is high, very high, but people were going over to the CNN Center and buying things off the Wendy’s dollar menu and bringing them back and no one stopped them. Of course, once you made it into my room I really didn’t care either. So, if any of you come remember, you are safe. Personally I’d say try to hide whatever food you got in a bag. But even that isn’t really neccessary. It’s was an awesome venue.
Hopefully LastBlade (the member) will be there to help me with the brackets this time around as he did with the guitar hero tournament.

as long as I’m not called to Houston before July, I’ve got a few ppl that may be willing to come but they won’t if I’m not. Well whatever, I’ll fill you in on a few late breaking developments tomarrow.
On a different note, having attended final round twice and now helping with the brackets for the GH3 Tournament that happened a few days ago at WCC. The room sizes are pretty nice and they’re well air conditioned. Though the only problem, and this may not be a big one for some of you all, is that a lot of ppl are at the WCC for other events and may trickle in once in awhile to watch. So you all may wind up with an audiance.

Absolutely, that’s an awesome game and we’re definitely having a tournament in that game without a doubt.
I’d love it if I could but only if someone were to donate one. The best recommendation I can tell you is to get a good arcade stick. That should put you on par with anyone. Does anyone know Max’s name on Shoryken. I’ve played with him a few times at Julian’s when they had Capcom vs. SNK 2 and everything there. I’d love for him to come.
I’m about 85% sure I’m going to this for DOA4 but my 360 just broke today and it depends on if they charge me or not to fix it + how long it takes to get it back
I’ve sent two of them in. It takes about three days to receive the coffin and about a week and a half to receive it back from Microsoft. You’ve got plenty of time. This venue is going to be great. I could really, really, use Wiis though for the SSMB tournaments. I know those can take all day.
If you ask me one tournament I’m really looking forward and hope people participate in is the Ultimate Mortal Kombat III Tournament. I barely see much of any youtube videos for that game at tournaments but of the ones i’ve seen Reptile is a beast in those videos.
Lastly, as a reminder remember everyone we will have VCRs hooked up to every single unit so we will be recording all the footage for release online (or maybe even a DVD) for you all to enjoy over and over again.
I’m pretty sure I’m going to be in town house sitting for my parents while the tourney is on. I’ve got a Super Turbo board, and I’m trying to talk a friend with another one + a supergun into coming down for it.
I can’t exactly bring my cab down (its in Lexington), but I’m betting we can come up with another Supergun / Cab to use for ST.

Could you give me a percentage of how certain you are that you could bring this cab down? This would make the tournament ten thousand times better if you could bring this in. Let me know and I appreciate your help.
Magnicious, I can definitely bring my ST board down, but theres no way for me to bring a cabinet. I could bring down the actual control panel from my cab if we got a Supergun and we could wire it up to that.
That control panel is a separate piece that I can just take off with a few bolts.
I’ll have to talk to my buddy with the second board a little more but i’m not sure hes going to be coming since hes planning on going to MWC the week before. He might let me bring his board/supergun down though. No guarantees on that one however.
If he doesn’t come through we’ll just have it on the Dreamcast but it would be epic proportions of awesomeness if you could bring it. I’ll waive you and your friend’s entry fee if you can bring out here to me. But remember, we have a fail safe in case which is the Dreamcast version.
i hear on that and props to mag for having the tourney at GWCC b/c most tourneys i go to in GA hella fights be goin on and it make me not wanna compete anymore. at least i know GA police is gonna be there cuz trust me if a fight break out they not gonna say stop they just gona swing.
I hear that. The Georgia World Congress Center has it’s own police cars and police which work solely in the service of the World Congress Center (as it is owned by the State of Georgia.) So if any fights break out the police can be in the room within about five minutes and the offender(s) will be arrested and escorted off the premises. Each room has a dedicated phone line for calling security in so there won’t be any problems.
On a side note tell me what you guys think? In King of Fighters XI should we ban use of all the console exclusive characters? We are allowing them in Soul Calibur but do you guys think it’s best to ban them? Also, I am making the Arcana Heart Tournament FULL only.
