Crown are 28mm.
I broke this stick a few weeks ago (i beat on the buttons a little too much, and severed the connection to the button PCB) saw this mod and bought a set of the crown buttons and spacers, they arrived in about 4 days. Perfect fit.
Thanks etokki!
:EDIT:
I strongly recommend getting the spacers too, totally worth the extra few dollars.
Anyone tried putting let mod to this? how many volts can the pcb/usb take?
yes
an led mod has been successfully done on the paewong
there is nothing unique that would prohibit you from adding an additional signal line to the leds
i have done one using purplearms’s arceyes
check it out
my led mod was a little more complex than a standard light up on press and included the programming of an ATMEGA328 chip and few 74HC595 shift registers to create the desired effects
the intended design was to capture what buttons where press and how many and in what series
example
color 1 = single button press
color 2 = two buttons pressed in a punch or kick row (ie an EX)
color 3 = all three buttons in a punch or kick row (ie an ULTRA)
color 4 = throw / focus / taunt
there are many more options the way the custom PCB was designed and built
1. the rats nest (i need to clea it up)

**2. the case itself **

3. one button press

4. any EX

5. ultra

6. throw, focus or taunt

you can see the full project images set on flickr - FightStick SE RMX
^ that is sick, im putting the board into a hori ps3 fight stick 3 with blue seimitsus.
video of the action

My idea come to life.
I wish I got it done.
But for me, Throw, Focus Attack, Taunt would each be different color.
hey jdm714
that is actually the intentions
right now this is based on a combination of the bit going to the shift registers and their assignments in the atmega328 code.
also, i can easily switch coloring simply by rotating the wiring harness to yeild
1x red
2x green
3x blue
taunt/focus/throw yellow

this can be done without reprogramming
this was my first pass (smoke test if you will)
next will be more color mixing using the PWN outputs
Very cool.
Waiting to see future stuff from you.
there will be!!! i still have a MasterStrike to build, program and install
it already has a place set aside for it in the SE case

as you can see in the image above there is already an 6 wire harness running from the turbo/guide madcatz pcb that goes nowhere! it will connect to the masterstrike
more soon
Waiting for my artwork and plexis to arrive and ill post pictures of my TE stick with the Paewang pcb in it, im still trying to figure out how to get the usb cable out without ruining the “case” with a new hole. I might do something violent with the interior of the cable compartment since that wont be shown when the cover is closed. Also thanks for the pictures of the Guide/turbo area on the TE stick, will help me to keep those functions for the new pcb.
Ok just got my shipment from Laugh… south korea to canada in 10 days for inexpensive shipping = good deal!
+1 to etokk’s repi!
Can’t wait to start modding my friends sticks. One of them will feature masterstrike and arc-eye integration with the joytron. Won’t be like 32teeth’s, but it will be more easily achievable for most

quad mod!!!
That is ridiculously cool.
That hot glue on the joytron is a bit of a pita to clean up
Ok, so i played on the ps3. Plugged in on the xbox, played a bunch, unplugged.
Now, the pcb is simply not working on the ps3. I plugged everything on the pc and tested it out and it’s ok, but my ps3 isnt recognizing it.
Any help ?
(actually, it should work on PC irregardless of which mode it’s in)
Hey, I have become very interested in this stick and modding it, and as this will be my first mod ever, I’m afraid I have a few (probably stupid) questions to ask.
First, right now I have a mayflash stick, seen here: http://www.amazon.com/PS2-PS3-PC-USB-PLAYSTATION-3/dp/B0015PHMFU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1273183240&sr=8-1 I’m assuming the pcbs for the paewang and the mayflash would be interchangeable since the actual stick casing would be the same, but I just want some confirmation that this is the case.
Second, when installing a jlf to the paewang pcb, is it possible to reuse the little plastic plugs from the stock stick if you strip them off the wires and attach them appropriately to the other side of the jlf wire harness? I’d rather not solder the stick permanently to the pcb if I could.
Third, and possibly the most dumb question of all, for the wiring: is there a specific type of wire I should use, where can I get it, and how can I obtain wiring harnesses like the ones shown in the tutorial (both for the joystick and the buttons.) I have very little knowledge about wires in general but I’m assuming I can’t just use any wire I find.
If these questions are too dumb I apologize in advance.
Good tip… it worked!
Where can I get the custom harness for the buttons and the stick ?
Also can I use Sanwa Joystick JLF-TP-8YT. Is it better than Sanwa JLF-TP-8Y-SK in any sense ?
