So if I’m going to put the Paewang PCB in another case, what’s the easiest way to insert it? Desolder the the USB cables and then resolder them back on in the new case?

Hi,
with the joystick and button harnesses for this pcb what is the length of the wires? Product descs don’t say.

thanks

Hi,
I’ve changed my q. I don’t know if it’s cheeky to ask the developer since they’ll want me to buy their own product, but if anyone here knows… I’m trying to figure out what connectors the cable harnesses use. In the case of the joystick harness the QD’s are inappropriate size, so it’s better to make my own anyway. I’m trying to figure out what the exact type of male JST connectors on the other end are. I don’t want to buy in the wrong size.

As to the harness for the buttons, I believe the long connector at the end is called a ‘sip socket’–at least the female side? But I don’t know what the male side that plugs into it is called. And I’m not sure what size I’d order in. Or if there’s even a reliable supplier in the UK. Maybe I will order the harnesses as is, but I’d like to fill in some gaps in my knowledge.

thx

EDIT: In the OP I don’t see anything about wiring up the start/select/home buttons? I don’t see any wires leading to where the contacts would be either in the images. Seems pointless to solder on a socket and have a nice clean decoupling of wires, when you end up soldering three wires on for buttons anyway…?

I had a question about the PCB itself.

I recently just installed the PCB and it worked on the ps3 for like 20-30 minutes perfectly fine. Then I unplugged it, went to lunch, came back and plugged it back in. It stopped working and I figured maybe it was set to Xbox instead of ps3. So I toggled turbo to see if I could switch consoles. But that didn’t work, I connected it to the PC and it claims its unable to install drivers, this is the message it gives:

“Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)”

It no longer works on xbox360, PS3, or PC.

I’m not sure what to do. I just barely got this set up and it seems like it was going to be a good PCB to use to reduce the pcb clutter in my confined space that is available.

I really hope it isn’t ruined, because I just wasted 50+ bucks to play for only half hour.

So I just dual-modded my PS3 TE round 2 with the paewang pcb. It was my first mod and took me 7 hours. During the modding I burnt myself at least 6 times with the soldering iron and had to desolder at least 4 solder bridges, and my worst mistake was to desolder the usb cable to get the pcb to fit in my TE. Soldering on the existing usb cable turned out to be very difficult for me for some reason. I underestimated this whole mod and should have practiced soldering way more before I tried it.

Still, everything works perfectly now, it feels like a miracle, was not expecting it to work at all when I plugged it in. It works on both consoles, and even the original turbo and home buttons are working. The button harness from etokki helped SO much. The only problem now is that it is a complete mess inside the case, the pcb is just lying there, buried under a sea of wires. I have some pcb-feet at home, but I’m not sure how to secure them in the case. Are they worth using, or is it ok just letting everything lie around in a mess?

EDIT:
There is one weird thing though, for some reason I always have to hold turbo to make the console recognize the stick, even if I just disconnect it from the 360 and then connect it again. On the pc though I don’t have to hold turbo and it just instantly gets recognized every time. Weird. I don’t really care though, as long as it’s not a sign that something else will go wrong soon…

just finished modding my stick

thanks for the guide

Question: on the PC, does the RT/R2 and LT/L2 “buttons” recognize as gamepad buttons or a “z-axis”?

When I tried it with my stick they registered as “z-axis”, and the buttons work perfectly on the xbox and ps3.

I’m sorry if this has been answered already but can one of the korean sticks you offer be modded into that joystick with ease? Also coming from a HAPP competition stick, which korean stick feels similar to it? Maybe a little tighter?

So if I short turbo the PCB it will auto select and the console it’s plugged into will sort it out? Kind of how dual mods with a hub works?

Would it make any reference picture or manual?. thank you very much

i opened my mayflash up to messaround with it and get a feeling before i change it into a hit box
my question is, when i i press down and up or left and right on the micro switches, i get an error message
how do i fix it where when opposite buttons are pressed, its goes to neutral or something?

I wana get to work on modding, but whats the point if at the end i can’t do a foward dash to back dash, or teleport, or if i acidently press the inputs to quick, the error pops up

please help

Question about the Mayflash Stick (since it’s pretty closely related to the Paewang)…

I want to put on a longer USB cord on my Mayflash Stick (I can care less about losing the PS2 capability). However, unlike the Paewang, the Mayflash USB Cord is connected to the PCB by a plastic block (instead of being soldered directly to the PCB). Not only that, but the USB wires aren’t color coordinated like most USB cords are (Red, Green, White). So I’m unsure of what I can / can’t do in this situation. But I was wondering if this plastic peice can be removed so I can solder directly to the PCB? I don’t want to try to pull it off unless I know it won’t screw up the entire stick.

Hi!
I get an error when I hold down 2 buttons and then pressing down 1 more and releasing it(while im holding down 2 other buttons). I read on page 11 of this thread that mayflash has this error. My setup is Paewang -> MCCthulhu -> buttons/stick. Can this be an issue? That the PCB might get confused by the ground or something. Have someone else got this problem with the Paewang board?

Kind regards
//Andrezzo

Hey people who have used this PCB in other sticks:

Would you recommend soldering wires directly to the board or would you recommend using the wiring harnesses that are made for the PCB?
i.e. Button Harness & Joystick Harness

Solved it!
For those who want to know:
The MCCthulhu-board has a low resistance between the signal points. This makes the paewang-board confused and some buttons are registerd without being pressed down when another button is being pressed.

Ordered the parts the other day to do this mod, thanks!

Looking forward to getting both of the wiring harnesses from you! Wish I had done more research before I ordered the whole stick from you a few weeks ago, haha.

What are the dimensions of the PCB itself?

go back a couple of pages some one already asked that same question and got an answer.
