probably not the thread but does anyone know a good site to get the Datel/Paewang pcb?
would greatly appreciate it.
thanks
if you only want the pcb laughs site etokki. otherwise just by one of the sticks.
k great to know thanks a bunch
Also can the grounds of the start, select, turbo, and home buttons be daisy chained together?
Help guys! I tried to solder for the first time with this stick, and i made a mess. So i tried to… err… manually desolder the buttons’ wires from the PCB, but doing so i tore out a little bronze-coloured metal plate from the ground site where you should solder the ground wire. Did i break the PCB? I wouldn’t like to lose all the time needed to solder the rest of the stick for nothing…
Thanks and sorry for my English
I wouldn’t have insulted you even if you had broken my stick
The only idiot here is the person insulting someone else just because they made a mistake. We don’t let that shit fly in Tech Talk.
Hi!
First of all thank you all for all the pics and advice. I’ve run into a problem that is I don’t know how to solder the home/turbo/start/ select buttons. I have seen this picture here with the red dots as signal and black dots as ground I guess:
http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/3449/paewangrevolutionpcb.jpg
But then someone posted this http://aaronactive.net/photos/pcb-wiring.jpg with no ground at all what confuses me.
So which one works?
he probably used the ground contact from the buttons to share with the signal contacts for the H/St/SL/Tu. thats wat it looks like to me when i saw the link to the pic b/c the ground is pretty close to those signal contacts.
It looks like he’s taking a single ground signal off of the UP pair – the black wire on the left side of the image. This can then be daisy-chained to all the other inputs.
Thanks for the answer! Anyway I think i’ll just practise a bit in soldering and then buy another PCB
thanks laugh, just one more question and I think I’m done with questions about the PCB. if I’m hooking up an optical joystick to the PCB I solder the +5 below where the red wire of the USB is connected, but for the ground do I use the grounds from the directional connections or directly from the USB cord?
Ok thanks. Gosh I feel like a fly bothering you, but there’s two black wires coming from the USB cord… which one is the ground? also just make sure I don’t totally mess up my PCB I solder to the metal joints below where the USB wires are hot glued too right?
I had the same problem once. Just follow the line that goes to the spot that you broke, find a place where it’s most seperated from any other lines and use a small piece of sanding paper (1mm by 1mm). Sand the line until you just see the copper line. Try to apply a small dot of solder on it and attach the wire to the solder. If you are ready you MUST apply hotglue to relieve it from tention. It works perfectly but does require some patience and a steady hand.
I read some users of the PCB having trouble using the down right corner on the PS3. It is a big problem so if you buy the stick to pull the PCB from you MUST!!! test the stick on the PS3 before you rip it out. Otherwise you mess up your warranty.
The reason that i post this is because the last 6 sticks that i’ve bought to rip the PCB out off ALL 6 had the same problem. 3 were bought in Holland and 3 were bought from another country. So it’s it’s a global issue with the Datel/Paewang sticks!
So I should have asked here, but after getting a set of Crown snap on buttons and a Myoungshin Fanta stick, I’ve found out neither of these work well with the Paewang Revolution in terms of dropping in the parts…
I’ve jerry rigged a JLF with Happ Cherry buttons for the joystick using the stock top and stick combo (leaving it considerably shorter than most sticks), so that’s not really an issue. The buttons on the other hand don’t sit in wonderfully right now. They all reside in the proper holes, but none of them are actually sitting in snug. They’re all uneven and ridiculous. Does anyone have any tips to make them stick to the top panel of my stick?
Pics would be helpful if u can
I just wanted to give a big thanks to Laugh for this thread. My friend got a Paewang + harness (from etokki - awesome quick-connects btw!) for me to replace the pcb in his Hori V3 SA. Good stuffs here, he loves his V3 dual!
So just to make sure, there is no need to daisy chain with the grounded cable? If i so wished i could run a grounded cable for each button instead, right?
Hi, could someone be kind enough to tell me the measurements of just this Paewang PCB:
Length, width and height? (as accurately as possible, say in millimetres)
Thanks very much in advance
Look through every post in this thread I guarantee you will find it.
