akihabarashop is pretty cheap and ships everywhere i think

hey guys, help me please.
I soldered all the wires in Paewang exactly as shown on the pictures to put in a custom arcade. Every time I soldered a wire, I plugged the pcb on pc to test and everything worked normal. Two days later when I gathered all the material to finish the arcade, when i plugged the pcb on pc, windows returns the message “USB device not recognized”. Anyone know why this is happening? I suspect the problem is in usb cable connection on the board. Please someone help me, I can not believe that the pcb has a problem.

Thx !

sorry liquid, I cannot help.

I recieved my stick today, the buttons are awfull, I didn’t suspect that much.
Alright I’m planning to place my order, but just to be sure I’m not forgetting anything, could anyone please confirm :

(I’ll try to see if I can get it cheaper on other websites, but first I want to be sure of the components I need to buy :))

Would you recommend trying to build a harness such as Laugh’s ?
I’m not sure right now how to handle the 8 to 1 wires for ground, and the harness could make it easier to build another pcb (I’m searching for a way to use this stick on the first xbox, if anyone has an idea ver usb, or else I’ll consider soldering an xbox pad pcb and building an external case or whatever).

Thank you

(and sorry for the questions, I’m trying to make it properly as I might then help friends around me building their own)

Nobody can help me ?

Apparently people still get mixed up that a 4-way is a square gate and a 8-way is a octagon gate which is completely wrong.

Most people would start letting it go and not say anything and accept the fact that some people may never learn xD.

I’ve been searching for an answer, but I couldn’t find any posts about it. Does the Paewang Revolution PCB in PlayStation 3 mode work with PlayStation 2 games on backwards-compatible PS3s?

one more question :

is it possible to wire the 4 buttons (start turbo home select) ?

I was thinking to such a mod :
http://le-pingouin-surgele.over-blog.com/article-34792815-6.html
using a d-sub to externalize the pcb (as I still want to use the stick on a xbox, thus allowing to build as many external case with whatever pcb I want)

Do you think it would be possible using this case ?

Has anyone had a problem with the PCB not switching over to PS3 mode?

I wired everything up and each button works fine and tested the turbo functions too. But the PCB seems to be stuck in 360 mode and I cannot switch to PS3 mode by holding down turbo while plugging in the stick.

Everything works fine on the 360 side right now but I cannot get it to switch to PS3 mode. Has anyone had this problem before?

I have this problem too and I still cant fix it, if anyone can help it will be appreciated, thanks.

No one encountered the same problem with the PCB not switching to PS3 mode?

laugh, do you have any idea why it doesn’t work? All the buttons and the turbo features work perfectly fine while it’s currently in 360 mode but the PCB doesn’t switch to PS3 mode when I hold turbo while plugging in USB cable. Could the PCB I have here be faulty?

has anyone tried to externalise the PCB ? I want to do so but I’m wondering how to solder the 4 start/turbo/select/srart buttons, and reading kk1030 and wtfrox messages, I’m a bit affraid.

what do you mean by ‘externalize’ ?
are you looking to remove the PCB and install it in another case? or do you want your PCB physically outside of the case?

i guess hes talking about the method where the arcade stick only has a vga connector as a cable and the pcb(s) are in a seperate case where u can plug the vga cable in.
but i think you dont need that for this pcb, since you have ps3 xbox360 and pc covered. i guess if you want to be able to use it with older consoles u could do that, but for me thats just too complicated and i dont use older consoles anymore.

I can’t tell from the pictures but are the wires on the original stick soldered on or are they attached with quick disconnects?

Also would other Crown pushbuttons (CWB201A or CWB203A) with in this build or is there a reason to go with the CWB203C?

Or could one use Happ/iL buttons instead of Crown buttons?

hi guys

by “externalize” I indeed mean using a sub-d female connector on the case with the stick/buttons, and build an external case hosting the datel pcb, with a sub-d male connector.

This way I can also build a second case based on an old xbox 1 pcb, as I’m willing to use the stick on it (cheap mamebox). And later on, I’ll be able to reuse this stick by simply building another external case (might be fun to try and use it on a wii, for instance, based on a classic controler pcb).

I’m also considering the artwork, I was thinking to keep the datel arcade pro “ryu” artwork but I really don’t like it. Did you make your own ? or did you order it on a website ?

Thx for every answer you can give

the wires from the joystick are attached with disconnects. The buttons are “press buttons”, the contact is then made with the pcbs (one board for all 8 buttons, soldered to the the datel pcb ; the other 4 small buttons press directly on the datel pcb).
Not sure how you couldn’t see that on Laugh’s pictures, if I’m able to understand this I guess anyone can

That isn’t quite what I was asking with regards to the buttons. I remember having seen Laugh’s tutorial on the Saulabi stick and recalling that he used CWB203A (I believe) buttons with that project. I was also looking for confirmation that Crown buttons and Happ/iL buttons where the same size and that either would work in this setup.

Hey guys, i’ve been skimming thru the thread and haven’t got a clear and concise understanding as to how to get the TURBO and HOME connected. I’m using the paewang PCB and planning to replace my PS3 Hori Real Arcade Pro 3 PCB

Am i right to replace the PCB or am i supposed to have them work together for the sole purpose of the TURBO and HOME buttons?

What I’m thinking is right but not sure of, is to have all buttons/stick connected to paewang through respective connections as demonstrated and to be daisy chained to be grounded. In order to get the HOME and TURBO button to work i beleive i’d need to split power and ground (5V and I think GRND or is it S.GRND?) from paewang PCB to HRAP3 PCB and have both HOME and TURBO grounded as well as connected to the HOME and TURBO on the paewang PCB. Correct?

X-Arcade buttons.

I have a few questions.

1: I’m buying a universal mayflash black arcade stick is it the same?

2:I would much prefer to use X-Gaming Black Pushbuttons - Gremlin Solutions. But would installing them be any different.

3: If installing them would be alot different can someone guide me on that? (sorry im a noob to modding.)

Wow great post Laugh. Would be awesome if you could get that custom harness on the store.
And I was wondering where I could find that second harness for the jlf.
