how usable is the paewang by itself.
dont feel like modding

Connect a Ground and Signal wire of Turbo from HRAP PCB to Paewang.
Connect a Ground and Signal wire of Home from HRAP PCB to Paewang.

You do not need to connect the 5V.

That is all.

I was wondering if i could use the paewang pcb along with some xbox pcb from a very cheap arcade stick from gamester (which im pretty sure is common ground)
i tried to draw the setup:

now is my only option to have the two seperate cords going out of the case or is there some way i coulkd only use 1 cord, i thought that might be possible because i heard the old xbox cable is basically a usb cord as well, but im not sure which cable is useless of the xbox’s cables cause there are coming 6 out of the pcb which is 1 more than from the paewang

It’s terrible. If you don’t want to mod then buy 2 TEs instead.

JDM, greatly appreciated. Thank you and thank you Laugh and thank you shoryuken forums ;).

I’ve now caused a problem which i think is irreversable…:(…
I think i may have shorted my board. I connected the appropriate wires and connected the stick to my PC to test the buttons. Everybutton responded properly except button 7 (3x Kick - L2/LT). The computer showed that this button was being pressed and held when really it wasn’t. I figured it must have something to do with the rest of the buttons and maybe there are wires touching or that i must’ve messed something up. I d/c all the button wires and figured i’ll plug it in again to test that button 7 was reset… it wasn’t. The computer STILL read it as if it was being pressed and held. At this point the only thing i had connected was my joystick wires (U D L R GND - not in that order). So i’m beginning to think i shorted the board somehow…

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also IF i can get my stick perfect and up and running im seriously contemplating on making a few designs for this stick seeing as how i’m handy with photoshop. And of course i’ll be sharing these with this amazing online community

I’m wondering if there is any issue using the Paewang PCB and its USB cord with a USB extension cord… I like to sit way back away from the TV.

if anyone can try it out for me I’d appreciate it.

I’m thinking of doing the same thing, though using sub-d male/female connectors between the two pcbs (Connecteur sub-D male - 25 broches - 1.18EUR TTC)
I should have bought the female terminals too (Female terminal 4.8mm - 0.19EUR incl. VAT) but ut’s too late, I don’t want to place another order and pay the extra shipping costs + VAT.

For the usb/xbox compatibility you could check this link Adaptateur USB pour XBox - xbox, but I’m sceptical as to making it work with the stick. Well if ou try it then tell me, that might give me ideas

trugoy>that would probably work fine, why wouldn’t it ? + the usb cable is like 3m long, I guess you are not much further than that. I thought I had one and searched for it but couldn’t find it, sorry.

yeah, it works fine

Spent way too long yesterday setting up this pcb to my stick and while the PS3 recognizes it, I can’t use START, SELECT, or Turbo. I wired select and turbo to one button but no idea why start doesnt work. Going to open her up and have a look later today but I do not have soldering skills.

hey, i need some help.
i replaced my TE pcb and followed the wiring diagram and the turbo and home buttons work fine but the other buttons only work when i hold down the R1 button. Can anyone help me? Thanks.

Can someone urgently answer me? its important, I bought the ps2/ps3/pc/ mayflash system and want to mod it, is it edxactly the same as the paewang?

except for the xbox 360 compatibility, the only thing I read is a difference for the panel layout. You can find loads of thread regarding mayflash mod

Hey Laugh, I was wondering where did you get that wire harness with the pins from ? I been trying to look for it on the net but no luck, if you can let me know that would be awesome

I assume its a software issue on the pS3, BUT on the off-chance has anyone found a way to use the Paewang Rev. on PS3 for PS2 games yet??? (Again, I know this may be a PS3 firmware requirement - so don’t post telling me this!)

The case for the paewang and the mayflash is exactly the same, just a different color. The ps2/ps3/pc mayflash was my first stick, and I used one of the paewang revolution pcbs to mod it and it turned out great. It fits in perfectly.

On another note, while I’m happy with how my mayflash with the paewang pcb has turned out, I do miss having ps2 functionality. Would it be possible to to add ps2 functionality to the paewang pcb easily? I’d have to guess that I’d need to break open a ps2 controller and go through all the stuff I tried to avoid by getting the paewang pcb in the first place, but I want to ask just in case.

That is what you have to do.
Open and add PlayStation 2 PCB.

Alright, good to know.

Im going to try this. But I will try to use disconnects.

Hey Laugh, I managed to replace my buttons and the joystick with the exact same parts you used in your tutorial. I kind of have a problem with a wiring harness I ordered from Lizardlick. It happens to hold up to 28 buttons apparently and it looks like it would be too big to fit inside the Paewang Revolution…

I remember you said we could use any wire, I’m just not sure about the harness I have since it looks huge-normous. Also, if you can, please tell me some sites where I can purchase the H5P harness in your tutorial. I’ve googled and only found forum results. Thank you in advance!

I only have 2 buttons for start and select. Right now I have turbo and select wired to the same button with no problems. What happens if I also wire the home button to the select button. I need home but I also need select to confirm spot when playing endless battle.

to clarify, if i push select to reserve spot is it also going to detect a home push?
If so, while in the home screen, will pushing home again only send me back to my game or will it also push select again and cancel my original select?
