Don’t have a handy pic, but ground is 2nd row of first column… turbo and home are 1st and 2nd row of 2nd column. Its labeled on the PCB…

Nice work! This is actually the exact thing i want to do with my mayflash arcade stick! Only problem is that I’m not sure If im purchasing the correct JLF model and buttons:

Joystick=> http://www.arcadeshop.de/Joysticks-J...Sanwa_627.html
Buttons=> http://www.arcadeshop.de/Sanwa-Butto...0-red_731.html

Is it possible to do the same thing that u did here with these parts? I know i need to file the button holes to 30mm but is this stick (JLF-TP-8YT) the right one? Can I mount it the same way you did so that the screws don’t come on the outer side of the box?

I really need help on this one since I’m doing this for the first time so I want to know exactly what I need to buy (exact model of the JLF/Buttons and if there’s any other stuff needed aswell)!

Thanks!

Thx laugh! You’re my hero! :smiley:

I didn’t see anywhere mentioned on the website what kind of restrictor plate the stick has, does it come with a sqare gate or do i need to buy one myself? And is there anything other I need to buy such as wires or something? :open_mouth: Sorry for being such a newb on modding sticks! :stuck_out_tongue:

i dont see anything mentioning turbo or home.

can ya mark it with MSpaint ?

purplearms thought you have Xbox 360 TE.

You have PlayStation 3 TE.
They are not labeled.

The back doesn’t show what you want.
You need the front.

And the places you want is just where the buttons for Turbo and Home are.

I have never done any thing like this how hard was it and about how much did it cost you?

Im gonna mod 2 TE soon with this pcb a 360 and a ps3. Its good the 360 has labeled their turbo but what about the dashboard key (their home) ?. 32teeth showed a picture where he used the turbo harness already in the madcatz and just soldered that to the jaewang pcb and he said it allowed him to use turbo and home still for the ps3 heres a picture hAMM

Hey guys my mate just bought http://orochinagi.com/joystick-reviews-mods from Play Asia and just wanted to know if he can mod it with sanwa parts, in particular the stick, maybe buttons, If so what is involved in this particular model as it seems different to the OP.

Would he have to replace the PCB?

If he wants to play on 360 then he’ll need to dual mod it. Unless it’s a 2009 edition Mayflash, in which case he’ll need to replace the PCB.

Shame he just didn’t get the Datel ArcadePro considering the price and mod-friendly nature.

So if i order the one from Etokki, it will work with 360/ps3/pc?

Yes.

thanks gahrling, PlayAsia purchase was canceled due to Credit card verification being annoying so he ordered a custom Sanwa from Australia in a mayflash box, seem this one is more easily modded and is PS3/PS2/PC compatible.

Alright, so I have finally acquired one of these (thanks Laugh), and have a question to ask about soldering to the pcb. Mine came with some kind of tape with the connections in it connecting the main pcb to the button pcb. I removed the connecting tape, there is this huge glob of glue that was stuck on top of it that didn’t come off when I took the tape with connectors out. What is the best way to remove the glue? I was thinking scrape it off with a small flathead screwdriver but I was worried it might damage the pcb. Any thoughts?

picture?

Sorry - I’m confused about this. The only harness space that a PS3 TE motherboard has is for the Joystick and attack/start/select buttons. There is no harness to plug ‘Home’ and ‘Turbo’ into. How is it that you’ve connected this up?

If you’re talking about the tiny PCB that’s only found in the SE sticks (for start & select), then where are you installing the new buttons for start & select?

your right, on the SE case there is the small button pad pcb. on the TE you can simply solder to the Paewong and have QDs to the side buttons prongs

can’t he just plug in the ps2 end to the x360 converter (w/wired xbox360 controller) and make it work on the xbox 360?

I got the glue off successfully, but I ended up screwing the soldering up. Oh well, if at first you don’t succeed…

Laugh, I need your help, I ordered the buttons and joystick a while ago and received them now (after 2 weeks). But I didn’t order any JLF-H harness or anything, I have no wires so I’m a bit stuck, can I just buy regular wires from a hardware store and connect the joystick and buttons with them or do I need a specific harness (specially for the JLF)? :confused:

If It’s possible to connect them manually, where in the JLF do I solder the wires? Straight to where the harness would come?

Thanks!

You do not need specific Wire Harness to make work.
Can just solder wires like you said.

Can solder to the pins where the Wire Harness would connect to if you want.
Or solder directly to the Microswitches on the PCB or Terminals that go into the PCB.
