Cammy seems to have an issue getting in for some reason. Btw. If you use poison’s standing mp it will hit people out of dive kicks at the area they need to aim for the waist and below. I’ve been using it as an anti air behind her AE against dive kicks and for Adon is will be jaguar kick if you throw it out from time to time along with tooth.
The problem with that is that you can’t keep out divekick characters with her s.mp forever. You’re gonna mess it up eventually, and they can keep trying since they take so little damage.
Once they’re in, oh boy you’re in trouble.
About her mp, Poison’s neutral j.mp is a good aa for shotos who try to jump in with their roundhouse.
Can you U2 a blocked Jaguar kick from Adon ? I think the problem with divekicks is that they may not do the divekick. Cammy for example may do a dive kick or ex divekick or just j.HK or j.LK. I haven’t tested but would st.MP anti- air all of that ? If her AA buttons just had more active frames maybe that would be the case. I think on ex KBG can be reliable in a situation like that.
I feel in this game s.LP is way better than s.MP for beating divekicks. just because s.MP range is questionable in this game and s.LP was already a decent anti-divekick move in SFxT.
Plus you recover quick enough to block/do something else if divekick doesn’t come.
You can but its pretty unreliable. I’ve tried using it against most his moves, for example you can reversal ultra his ex jaguar tooth, but for some reason it doesn’t always work. Sometimes she just pushes herself back too far and it completely whiffs. The same goes for jaguar kick, its better to do ultra 1 on reaction.
I think she beats Hugo 7-3 at least. She fucks up geif pretty well too. Lol lmt beats green hands, lariats and spds. I’ve laughed my ass of a whole round when I just spammed lmt, dash back, lmt on a geif to watch him first try to spd the blocked lmt, then get hit with the following one I did after I back dashed his spd. Then a meaty fireball, lmt, beats out his ex green hand. Then I did the fire ball, lmt and it beat his lariat. Then he blocked an ex lmt to get jabbed out of his lariat into a rekka combo and he was dead.
Or like waking up with ex lmt after he hit you with lp spd and is Going to do a green hand whiff, spd or ex green hand to catch your escape/whiff your reversal mix up. The ex lmt beats the spd, and the ex green hand. And if he blocks you are +2 lmao
Hugo feels like a good matchup thanks to her hp AE, which is very difficult for Hugo to jump over.
Divekick characters all seem like a pain. Rose is difficult because of her reflect, I’m having a lot of trouble against Guy, and pretty much every character that is designed to be in your face.
I think rose is 6-4 in poisons favor. Her absorb is more annoying then reflect I think. But as long as you mix up mp fb at distances where it disappears as she tries to reflect and throw in hp fb to stop any forward momentum/build meter you start to build meter faster then her. And try to move her into the corner during all this while winning the fire ball war. If she just throws plasma then that’s easy because roses start up are no better then poisons start up on fireballs. And once you knock her down her wake up is free. Her ex spiral is punishable on block, and throwable if you anticipate it. Roses wake up consists of back dash or ex spiral lol
And if rose tries to do u2 soul throw mix ups on your wake up, cr.hp beats it clean I’ve found
She loses to most fireball based characters. Especially Oni, Eryu, Akuma, Gouken, Sagat and etc… There Fireball game shits on hers. She has a good fireball but for characters who have high durability fireballs not a chance.
@tali Rose beats Poison. It doesn’t matter how much you mix the fireballs up. Because of the fact her recovery is so much better not she can dash and do reflect and fuck up your whole fireball game. Fighting fireball vs fireball versus Rose is not the way to go.
I think she can Duke it out better against eryu and oni then the other three.
Akumas is hard because he can teleport for free, his speed and normals, wake up vortex pressure and multiple array of fireballs just seem like a bad match up due to archetypes.
Gouken is a menace because of his ex demon flip is fast as fuck to catch our slow starting fireballs. He can keep up with fireballs and his mp and ex counter shit on our meaty fireball pressure. And his ex tatsu is legit now.
Sagats fireballs are hard to deal with because of how fast he can get them out and keep you out. And then inching your way in to eat an ex tiger knee is frustrating. Probably the easiest out of these three.
Rose fireballs:
Lp: 14 start up 52 recovery
Mp: 20 start up 52 recovery
Hp: 27 start up 53 recovery
EX: 14 start up 48 recovery
Speed increases with the stronger input
Poison fireballs:
Lp:15 start up 30 recovery
Mp:14 start up 27 recovery(travels about 70%)
Hp:23 start up 20 recovery(travels about 33%)
EX: 9 start up 29 recovery(travels full screen then disappears)
I disagree we do win the plasma vs plasma war which helps with zoning and laming a life lead/ lure her in
Now if we want to proactively throw fireballs rather then reactively, then you must space your self accordingly so that you Hp fb at ranges where if she were to dash up reflect that the fireball would disappear or it would reflect then instantly dissappear.
I think we can win the battle of plasma/zoning/meter building against rose whilst pushing her into the corner and pressuring her. You just need to know your spacing and timing. Also a far.hp deals well with her dash ins
Far hp: 13 start up 3 active and 19 recovery
Very similar in frame data with a lp fireball, if you throw that in there to catch her dashing in to reflect a fireball
Also you fellow poison players need to give my thread some love
Here’s a buncha junk. My current notes. All my experience, so some of it may be wrong and some of my choices may not make any sense to you. I’m pretty green, so some of it might seem obvious, too. Some of it was from when I wanted to make U2 work, so just ignore those…
I have found Gouken and Blanka to be the hardest as well. Blanka is a straight nightmare tbh, and @tali pretty much covered why Gouken is bad.
I need to play Sagat more but I think he is harder than i initially thought, It feels like you have to take a risk to get in on him and also passing through his fireballs just to get hit or even block an Ex. Tiger knee is frustrating. His Ex Shots also is really good when he is cornered. His Tiger shots especially heavy ones are harder to LMT over because they are really fast so the timing to successfully jump over them is tricky. On the plus side DP FADC being punishable means Sagat can’t escape really and his damage output is generally not that good now. Aside from his Ex.Fireballs he can’t really escape the corner and his jumps are easy to anti air.
I think Rose is most likely even to be honest, Rose can hang and annoy characters with much better fireball game than Poison and her overall footsies movement and tools are better. She will could just absorb fireballs all day and play super lame and with meter her Ex.Fireball is a problem and with full super she any hit could lead to tons of damage. Her U2 is an almost guaranteed chip at least.
found out yun can do cr.mp cl.st.mp into ex lunge punch ultra for a shit load of damage. I might have to bump this matchup up another tier as one of her worst matchups.
i seriously hope no yun ever discovers this because this matchup was already retarded as it is. i guess you could say the same for many characters but FUCK this character. FUCK this game.
I really want to say its 5-5, but then poison can os everything rose does on wake up. I will literally just move her knocked down corpse just to see if she’ll reversal or backdash.
Does lmt really beat Gief’s Lariat? I know a meaty LMT beats hugo’s backbreaker, except for ex, and it might be able to beat some dps.
