Ibuki Combos and Glitches

Im starting to like cl.HP > cr.HK > HK Launcher. Adds more damage than lp-mp TC. Granted its not super cancellable but it adds 28 damage. Doesnt seem like a lot. Where I was surprise though is Ibuki’s lk-b+mk TC crossup. If you do lp-mp > cr.HK > HK Launcher, its 191 Damage, 241 Stun. But if you do cl.hp > cr.HK > HK Launcher after the crossup, its 262 Damage and 338 Stun. Thats a huge difference.

Anyone else been utilizing this? I mean to me its only good to use cl.HP if you want to do the launcher> SJC > mixup, as you obviously cant finish cl.HP with anything else

No wonder it never works for me,i always tried mk tsumuji and they were to far away :slight_smile:

Is this thread for strickly combos only? Cause I have a chain of resets that amount to an insta-stun/ kill and I want to share, just not sure where. :x

It’s stupid and impractical tbh… You need two meters and for your opponent to be in the corner. It should stun and then kill Hawk, but someone else needs to test it, cause my executions a bit shakey.

j.hp, TC6 (reset), fowardjump lk crosses up and puts you in the corner, TC4 xx hk dash (reset, takes you out), c.mp xx ex.tsumuji, ex.raida. That stuns everyone (I assume everyone, stuns hawk at least) and does about half life on him.
Then deep jump in hp, U2 for the rest of his life. Though a normal ultra (either) without a jump in, is more practical and only leaves Hawk with a little bit left.

Like I said, its silly and impractical… >_> And for both target combos you need the mp to hit twice as well. :x

You might want to actually load up the game and try playing it before you post here and get too flamed. Either look up her moves in Training Mode or do her Challenge Trials, they both show you exactly what they are.

Look, I just need help with the terminology, more than likely, I can do them, and do them all the time, ibuki is one of the characters i’m considering maining. So instead of being dick, is to much to ask for a 1 sentence side-note explanation in someone’s post?

You asked what is a target combo and how do you do them, and Seedy was being exceptionally nice in telling you to just do her trials and you’ll know exactly what they are and how to land them.

Hey, no one is really used to fighting Ibuki’s shenanigans yet. Nothing is impractical or stupid :stuck_out_tongue:

About the use of TC6 (lp-mp-HK-HK Launcher) you will get more stun and damage if you use cl.hp > Hk-HK Launcher right?

Yeah, thats true. it really needs a lot of work, cause you could change that c.mp after the hk.dash to a target combo that cancels as well, more damage and stun because if you miss out a normal or two you dont get a full stun on Hawk, like canceling from the mp in the middle of lp, mp, hp, or not getting both hits of the mp. And I’m sure that if you sjc’d a normal/ target combo into ultra at the end you’d get more damage. Though I, personally, just don’t have the execution for all that, though that’s not to say that it’s not impossible.

A “1-sentence side-note” wouldn’t explain both what TCs are and how to do them. The closest you’d get is someone showing you how to find out more information about them, which is exactly what I did.

Now if I were really a dick I’d have mentioned that:
-You glossed right over the Ibuki Questions and Answers thread as well as the other stickies.
-You didn’t even bother trying google or searching “target combo” any other way, given that it’s a term that goes back years.

Well, turns out the person dashed after the taunt… which still doesn’t make sense? Haha.

dash = airborne. Thats why Raida punishes it

I’ve been messing around with corner combos and setups. So I’d like to note a simple setup in corner like LP,MP,HP,EX Tsumuji, (EX) Kazagiri works. The Kazagiri after Tsumuji can be normal or EX to hit confirm. I’ll post up numbers and more tomorrow, maybe on other corner combos I find. =]

Speaking of Raida…you can Kara Raida with s.MK, as well as her Ultra 1 (not very noticable, but it does kara cancel). Kara Raida really helps her up close pressure/punishing game. Also good on wakeup at a safer baiting distance

edit: correction, you’re not actually karaing mk, you are karing tsumuji’s startup into raida. This can also be done with HK for even more range. Just slide from any kick to any punch. For EX Raida use LP+HP (MP will give you focus…which is also pretty nasty)

lol, found something else! Ibuki can increase the range of her fadc with the method I mentioned above and if ur quick enough it will cancel out the majority of the focus attack animation. You can literally kara FADC a fireball at midscreen and then kara raida at catch an opponent trying to poke from hella far
