Ibuki AE Changes

I go to the arcade alot;)

Honda is low tier again. He shouldnt be a problem as long as you have good movement and know the matchup

Oh btw falling down after jump back kunai is great for zoning. It actually feels like zoning instead of running away. This is great when your going against someone like Zangeif. It looks like we got buffs all around:)

I had a chance to play AE, but didn’t sacrifice picking ibuki although I was dying to try her. After watching some Japanese AE matches, I noted a guy ending his combos with spinkicks knockdown instead of neckbreaker. I thought hes not familiar with neckbreaker mixups, but once I saw the new position shes put on after a neckbreaker, my first impression was, NERFED!

But this post gave me hope. :lovin:

after neckbreaker can we just normal jump then throw the kunai for the kunai to cross up still or do we have to super jump now

I just got out of 2 hours of training mode with this sjc and I finally got it like 95% down… thanks for the tips, for anyone else learning it you really really really gotta focus on doing the motion after the first hit. This is already making my mix up game a hell of alot better.

one thing i find odd tho is that i find it harder to do just from standing rather than doing a command dash cl.hk sjc command dash… hahaha i’m probably just psyching myself out tho

@niko
How did you feel the viper and Sagat matchups were in super

Dead even. The better player wins.

Sweet.

I really really hope we get AE on consoles now…

Wow her super really got fucking nerfed

Maybe I am just a terrible Ibuki, but I use her ex moves a lot, and never use her super. So for me, that won’t matter. lol

that sucks =( I enjoy chipping them from full screen

lol i thought i was the only one who does that from full screen just like i thought i was the only one who throws a kunai as an anti air sometimes and raida afterwards until i saw that just block video by niko (i think) cuz i don’t see many ibuki players do that not even xxteefxx new about it until i did that 2 him once but yea i love chipping charge/turtle characters with the super from full screen especially when they try to jump and fail cuz then it starts to actually hit them so if it got nerfed there goes my fun

does that mean the actual damage of the super itself got nerfed as a whole on hit and block or just on block?

Yeah I tried to finish some kid off with st. hk into hp super and half of it whiffed. And the chip got nerfed.

hp whiffed? maybe u did it a little late that happens to me sometimes also

Nah I didnt do it late. Lol

dang thats crazy i just don’t understand why that would happen

while this is good it also makes me kinda worried for future updates… i feel like history is repeating itself for me. i main abel since vanilla, super hes buffed to top tier (or close) AE hits and he gets mega nerfed.

ibuki could be in for mega nerfs next update if all this is true…

I agree with Niko. After playing AE Ibuki for the past two weeks, I feel as if her kunai mixups are a lot more ambiguous. To the question of whether you can normal jump and kunai, you’ll have to walk forward a bit. But her SJ kunai mixups are much better IMO. Her st.mk being 1-frame faster is a godsend. So good in footsies and combo-ing from cr.lp feels so much more fluid than in SSF4. Also, I don’t know if her cr.mp got buffed but it feels a bit faster. Linking cr.lp from cr.lk also doesn’t feel like a 1-frame link anymore. Either that, or my execution has gotten better. Eh. Anyway, Ibuki is definitely a lot better this time around.

Sweet, now I just can’t wait for it to hit consoles. Hopefully with some better footsies, and more ambiguous Kunais I can finally beat my Wifes Chun…

I’ve been playing AE for the past couple of days, the things I’ve noticed:

-c.HK xx s.HK xx HK Command Dash isn’t a foolproof mixup, I’ve gotten jabbed out of it. It depends on the spacing for the c.HK, I guess. It also whiffs on some characters.
-I haven’t used Super to chip anyone yet, but s.HK to Super still hits full. I’m not sure what people mean when they say that it’s been nerfed.
-I dunno if I’m imagining it since I have no real proof, but I’ve been able to hit Tsumuji loops a lot more on AE. Maybe we’re more positive after LK Tsumuji on hit?
-c.lp, c.lp, s.mk xx whatever comes out like butter, I don’t even plink it.

Hmm seems like this thread has died. Nobody cares about AE anymore it seems; it’s all about MvC3 lol.

Eventhubs recently published pics to show the difference in jump back kunai, as well as the damage reduction (50dmg to 30dmg): AE blog notes: Honda, Gouken, Rose, Ibuki, Seth & Akuma : News : EventHubs.com

I don’t think jumpback kunai was really that good that it needed a damage nerf as well. But whatever. Not like you’re going to end rounds or chip your opponent with it anyways. That’s what EX kunai is for.
