Ibuki AE Changes

Apparently Ibuki falls straight down when she does a jump back kunai.

And her TC4 has better tuna boats.

Also, I’m not sure if falling straight down after jump back kunai wouldmake much difference. If it hits…you’re safe. If it’s blocked I guess then you’re not safe. Wonder if it’ll make it into he final build? If it does it’ll make gief and t.hawk match-ups harder.

if jump back kunai going straight down is the only issue, I’m ok with. Its not causing a 4th of the rage tkcs removal is on the cammy board.

From what I heard the only other rumored change is that we’ll be able to target combo into far s.HK after her sweep like in 3S. Which I’m not really holding my breath for but we’ll see.

Coming straight down from a jump back kunai would make the matchup easier. That floaty ass wait coming down is how characters like Cammy and Rufus blow up Ibuki real easily for zoning with kunais. Right now there isn’t a ton of incentive for characters like them to just wait for us to throw a bad kunai and then zip around it and punish us due to her staying in the air for so long. Rufus can literally jump over the kunai and then dive under Ibuki and punish her on the way down. Which means that laggy float down from the jump back kunai is about the only real chance Zangief and T.Hawk get to punish us for throwing a bad kunai. With Ibuki dropping straight down they have no way to try and swat her out of the air and unless the recovery after landing is terrible will make it overall harder for them to punish her for throwing it. It’ll also make it easier for her to anti air should they try and jump at her when she throws the kunai and the kunai whiffs.

How was the Cr.HK, St.Hk TC used in 3s? as i didnt play it atm i cant really see how it would be useful.

It wasn’t terribly useful outside of whiff punishing into a 50/50 where u had to guess if she was going to air parry your anti air or attack u from the air and start a combo. Well actually that’s not the whole thing. Now that I remember she could also cancel her c.HK into close s.HK which actually had a little bit of a benefit because it basically allowed u a chance to launch the opponent in the air for juggles and it made your sweep safe on block at close range. If she can cancel her c.HK into close s.HK that would create a lot of tricky mind games at close range. Especially since her c.HK creates an untech knockdown for her on hit. It’s all speculative though.

Plus she can combo into cr.hk from cr.jab. cr.jab > cr.hk xx cs.hk xx sjc LK CD > cr.hp?

Well if they do add it and its even slightly useful its another tool in ibuki’s kit. Not that she really needs to be any more complicated :stuck_out_tongue: Oh well im sure capcoms plan with her will become clearer soon. i just hope she doesnt get any serious nerfs as atm i think she is quite balanced as she struggles to get in and has low health but can really do some dmg upclose.

What?? so how will u zone in with Kunai’s against Rufus and cammy doin a back jump Kunai? not only that! who would even use such a move in small range? wut purpose?

also who told u that the regular time of coming down after a kunai is considered a flaot state? in that case, who told u that the drop change after the Backward jump kunai on the arcade is the exact same time/animation like what we have right now and that the only difference is that the distance were she drops changed?

like seriously guys u cannot base theory of a WHOLE match making and who beats who by just READING an info…like in conclusion: all wut mentioned (not even vids) that she JUST drops down in her place after backward KUNAI…AND DIDNT mention a single!! a single fact of the animation, time…etc compared to the one we have currently.

No one, just ASSUMING that cr.hk cancels into st.hk. I thought it would have been pretty obvious that it was theory seeing as we haven’t actually had proper confirmation that cr.hk cancels into st.hk.

To tell you honestly, this thread is way overdue.

Turning cr.HK, st.HK into a a TC makes her more like her 3S version as well as adding the option to do anything coming down from an EX Kazekiri would also be neat though useless against shotos(lk, f.mk TC). Also adding the cr.hk, st.hk would be useful for people who do Ibuki’s block string(cr.lp, st.lp, cr.hk).

As for her drop down after back jump Kunai, atleast you won’t be floating into fireballs as much.

hmmm interesting change… but i rather they change the frames for ultra 1 to make it faster *sigh…

Or less whiffing on TC4…maybe this thread should be called wish list instead.

Or remove Tc5? is it, the lp, mp, f-lk one as it really mucks me up when im just out of tc4 range. OR let us special cancel from the f-lk, then it would be alovely block string

^ lp xx mp xx f-lk was awesome in 3rd strike, not so much this game imo.
