…this inspires me to use Gouki even more.
I mentioned earlier that I founnd a slight trick to the reset kkz and I can do it quite consistently now. I tap down once before hitting lp, then twice after it. Its so much easier than lp, ddd. I’ve heard before that you can do two taps after lp since the hurricane counts as one, but that doesnt work all the time. If you make a point of tapping once before the lp, its much much easier
I suppose it depends how fast you are with your fingers and directions.
But I can do it every time by doing the ddd+PP immediatly after the LP jjust really fast I just pretty much press the first down the instant I have tapped the jab button.
Each to their own ways I suppose.
It’s easy to;
:r: + :mp:, :lp:, :lp:, :r: :lk:, :hp:
Tougher to;
HOLD :r: + :mp:, :lp:, :lp:, :lk:, :hp:
Dunno how you cancel the :r: + :mp: so fast. I can input the RD much faster than the game will accept. Even though I’m putting it in ‘slow’ the :mp: always hits at least once. I think I managed the cancel before anything hit just once (but I’m not sure I was standing point blank anyhow). Still, I can do it without releasing forward now
I tried some wierd button configs (two buttons mapped to LP etc), but it didn’t help.
Also tried this, but gave up after a while;
:r: + :mp: + :lp:, :lp:, :lk:, :hp:
My thinking is that since every RD button must fall on a different frame (eg. :lp:, :lp:, :lk: + :hp: doesn’t work), I’m looking at a minimum of 5 frames into the :mp:. It appears to me that you cancel before then. I can only assume some parts of the RD are being input at the same time as the :r: + :mp:?
I can do the HK combo into RD on S-pad. Maybe I should quit while I’m ahead
If you can get the first hit of the chop and then Shungokusatsu into the person, will the chop be enough for the opp to be frozen and then the Shungokusatsu yo connect properly.
If so then it sounds it worth to learn it, has anyone got vid of backdash into demon SA
After Ryu
Makaoto, Remy and Gouki are my fav’s to watch
I personally don’t think its worth it. Its dope n all, but i’d rather just do a simple kara demon.
i’m just too lazy to learn it:rolleyes:
well, there’s quite a bit of players that can do it here(france), even if gouki is not their primary character(we even did contests of kara-demons sometimes). the trick is simple: learn to double tap. then it’ll be pretty easy.
how i do it:
(ring finger on mp, middle and index ready to double tap as soon as I hit mp and thumb on lk)
towards then tap mp with ring finger, double tap lp as soon as possible(middle then index; you’d want to start the double tap almost at the same moment you hit mp), towards lk(I actually go back to neutral before lk, never tried without doing it) then hp(I use the middle finger).
this is seriously old, fabien/mymoza can do it consistently(we ate it A LOT when he was playing gouki) since tougeki 1(where we all went crazy with double tap)… and he is no japanese.
I can’t double tap :sad:
it’s simple and pretty useful. you should learn it. plus it makes demon/kara demon easier.
fun fact: if you parry a shoto’s crouch mk, you can kara demon his face even before his hadoken can touch you. as a result the hadoken goes through gouki, and you grab the opponent’s face.
you have to be fucking fast though.
edit: actually, if you do it even faster, the hadoken won’t come out, you’ll grab them in the startup animation.
edit n°2: well, you can do it even faster and you’ll grab them in the cr.MK animation. i tried on ryu doing an ex hado and you can see his EX hado yellow trail doing the crouch mk while Ryu is in your arms. kinda funny to see.
Flippin heck, that sounds too sick to not be seen :bgrin:
Thanks dude, gonna try that sometime. But like you said, need crazy speed and reflexes. Probably harder than doing a reversal shippu with Ken on blocked shoto’s cr.mk…
AHHH I DID IT! I just used the tap method el diablo mentioned. Now only If I could pull it consistently. About the reset into KKZ whats the number of hits?
Reset KKZ registers 8 Hits I think.
If you do cr. mk xx lk tatsumaki, jab reset… KKZ. The first hit of the KKZ is to far away to hit but the wave part will hit 8 times. If I remember right.
and i thought it was actually something good lol
Oi its the BEST!!! We aint talking about reset KKZ here anyway. Besides, whats a traitor to 3s doing here :arazz:
DanD - if the first hit of the kkz doesnt get them, then they can parry the waves. The whole point is to make the first hit get them after the reset because thats the one they can’t parry.
i still play 3s casually. but not seriously anymore. and im in the process of making character tut vids for 3s which is why im randomly looking around
Yes, I understand what this thread is about, however, someone asked-- I answered. I just tried it in training mode and it registered 8. Dunno if the first one hit then 7 or otherwise. I’m just posting numbers.
The first time I ever saw a kara demon done that’s how I tried to do them. I’ve pulled it off a few times but never during a match. I’m sure that setup is very useful. Just think of the possibilities. Just walk up to someone on wake-up back dash to bait a throw and then walk forward kara-demon. That would be pretty insane if you could punish a throw animation with a kara-demon. :looney:
It would look damn cool, but you dont actually have to kara it.
Let me tell you something better to punish a whiff throw animation:
Dash back, Roundhouse xx Demon :devil:
Never thought of it. I wonder if it’s hard to hitconfirm a Demon off of a RH.
