Yeah I’ve already tried that, not having any luck. Too bad, would be really sweet if I could get it to work. Need to find something more reliable.

Felinoter how much damage does your combo do? I haven’t attempted it yet but a variation i’ve been using that does about 780k (EDIT : 900 K now :O)for one meter (builds one back at the end for the dimension slash)

cr.L(charge Round Trip), st.M, cr.H xx Stinger xx M Trick, St.HSH, release Round trip, st.SH xx L Judgement Cut xx Spiral Swords (charge Round Trip during cinematic) (I usually cancel into spiral swords halfway through judgement cuts hits, takes time to learn the timing)

Here is the tricky part, I used to do dash Helm Breaker x 3, release round trip, cr.H xx L Judgement Cut, Lunar Phase, df + H, dimension slash

But I found doing dash [j.H xx Helm Breaker] x 2, then release round trip, cr.H xx L Judgement Cut, Lunar Phase, df + H, dimension slash to do more damage

The post spiral sword activation timing is weird, since the remnant of judgement cut can still be seen on screen and i usually wait a split second

AFAIK this is the most damage post spiral sword, any experimentation and further feedback is appreciated

So what is everyone doing when they’re in DT and land a hit with no meter, no XFC, and no assists/allies? I figure that landing a short combo with hard hits is best to optimize damage and reduce opponent meter gain.

So maybe something like … H, 6H, 623L ~ H, sj. H, sj.S, H (or 2H?), 6H, 214M (or L? or 236L when already in corner?), M, H, S, sj. H, sj. 2H, 3H ~ H?

(No whining about “weeaboo notation”.)

This is my bnb as well only I start with stinger xx rising sun, j.M, j.H, helm breaker, Dante crystal otg. With the dimension slash ending I got +890K. Without it i consistently get +=700K now. I probably should start confirming off of cr.H xx Stinger if it is more damaging but rising sun combos are so much more stylish =\

oh, havn’t went back to finish the mission mode so and I havn’t tryed that combo yet. but I have my lmh button mapped to my rb so I just push b(which is my s)+rb for x-factor.

Things to note:

2L and 2M do more damage than 5L and 5M, respectively. 5H, on the other hand, does more damage than 2H, but 2H gives a more useful airborne stun in combos. Also, a combo that starts off of a 2M is probably going to do more damage overall than a combo starting off of 2L or 5L. Food for thought when you’re building combos and want to compare damage.

um one more thing Felinoter:

When practicing your combo, have you noticed Vergil randomly… throwing the first Round Trip the wrong way? Like the combo seems super easy and reliable with the right character adjustments but… Vergil… just wont cooperate sometimes?

nope, never.

lunar phase is 50k dmg after minimum dmg scaling, while helm breaker/j.H is only 4.5k~for each - how are you getting 780k/900k dmg?

Meant to type 800 I think, your BnB is stronger and a lot more reliable, when i do it though i get like 830-850K? :S

There are other variations, for example ; as listed above, after Sword Spiral activation you can dash and do helm breakers into the cr.H xx L Judgement Cut, cr.H xx Lunar Phase loop, or you can do (after the very first round trip) cr.H xx L Judgement Cut, cr.H xx Spiral Swords (the Judgement Cut bounces them up so the cr.H hits nice and leniant), into whatever

Do you guys have any Vergil combos that you use specifically for style?

How do people get his :qcf::l: out so fast after Trick like in the second combo of this vid where he does xxx j.M j.M j.H j.S st.M st.H Stinger Trick :qcf::l:? Or is that the wrong inputs?

Is the best BNB that doesn’t require charging Round Trip still whatever into his Shoryuken (cancel into Teleport), superjump BCS, st C, forward C xx MP teleport, C, S, BBC, down C, downforward C xx Maximum Vergil?

Also, any ideas for a combo that can call Doom Missiles?

Regarding this combo, I have a very hard time super jumping to M after Rising Sun and Trick Down. Does anyone know what I’m doing wrong on this? I always seem to miss it

Found a cool trick today with round trip. You can start charging with a button and switch which button your holding mid-charge and you don’t lose your charge. So you can do stuff like cr. A (hold), cr. B (hold B ), cr. C (release A), f. C, A Teleport (hold A release B), B or whatever and still get your roundtrip. Might be useful. Also means we will be able to keep people in the corner with roundtrip combo’s.

Don’t fight round trip in his combo’s. At this point it’s obvious any combo that breaks 700k is going to require its use.

We Zero players are used to this. Zero+Vergil <3

There isn’t a trick after stringer in the corner so you might be seeing just Stinger xx 236 A which is used in some variations of his combo’s. After stinger->Trick the current strongest option is C - > S -> C

2 things, after the spiral swords, I don’t get the lunar phase to connect consistently. What am I doing wrong?
Also, after the lunar phase, what would you say the timing is for the round trip? What visual cues let you know when it’s time to let it go or is it just by feel? That’s the one part of the combo I can’t ever get to come out. Ever.

This character needs some tournament ready reliable combos. A lot of these round trip/spiral sword combos are too finicky IMO.
