You can probably do blah blah into LP knockdown activate swords high time+vajra trick down into whatever you want from there.
Yo cjayr, I just did that combo and got 985,600 with Dimension Slash. I know it’s an endless debate on here if mashing makes a difference, but it’s either that or spacing. Either way, ridiculous for a net total of -2 meters!
I don’t think mashing makes a difference. I know with million dollars when properly mashed the damage from each bullets goes from 5/6k to 7k, but admittedly I haven’t looked at it while doing dimension slash.
Spacing and the hitbox of the character that’s getting hit do make a salient difference though. Vergil is a giant killer because if you do blah blah launch ending with Helm Breaker xx Trick M, High Time xx Dimension Slash on characters like Sentinel he gets annihilated. His hit box is so big that more of the orbs have an opportunity to connect on him so adding a DHC gives you stupid damage for a really simple combo.
What is the name of that song? It’s fucking sick.
I also don’t know if this on here, or where to look, but can someone give me a damaging air throw combo?
Air throw> Dash> , :h:xx Rising Sun (charge round trip), sj. j.
, j:h:, helm breaker, call otg> throw round trip, cr:h:, judgement cut (charge round trip), cr:h:xx stingerxx trick M, :s:,:h:, throw round trip, cr.:h:, judgement cut, spiral swords combo of your choice ending in high time. This will generally always get you 500k+
Another question about Jam Session: Is it possible to connect a Lunar Phase after it? I saw someone do it online a few weeks ago and didn’t know if it was an accident or what. He could do OTG Jam Session Lunar Phase into a sword loop. Anyone know about this?
It’s possible, depending how far you’re in inside the combo. I actually use that set up frequently myself with Chun Li’s lightning legs assist. Only a few assists can make that happen: Chun Li lightning legs, dr. strange eye of avocado, Dante Jam Session from the top of my head. Chun Li is in my team and imo it turns out she’s the easiest assist to do that specific set up, especially late in a combo… if memory serves it’s possible with Dante but with much more strict timing compared to Chun Li.
edit: Confirmed it definitely works for Dante, but it has to be really early in the combo. i.e. after a ground throw in the corner or after a raw helmet breaker. the problem with Jam Session is that it lifts them up higher so you may run into problems with connecting Lunar Phase

What am I doing wrong?
Well, I actually do s.S s.H after throwing the first round trip and it works well and gets the same damage. Didn’t notice that about the original combo transcript. Try that.
After you activate Spiral Swords, instead of jumping towards them try doing:
Spiral Swords activation (start charging L), dash-forward, [neutral jump helmet breaker] x2, (release L) Round Trip, 2.H, 236+L, 2.H, 623+M, High-Time, Dimension Slash
They will fall into your spiral swords and start blending if you dash after the super activation.
first one: not dashing forward between the two helm breakers
last one: same, but it still might’ve worked if you had let the round trip go
middle ones: not hitting c.H at the right time, this is sometimes character specific and idk iron fist off the top of my head
I don’t see a q&a thread, so I thought I’d ask here
I’m having trouble with his OTG (i think that’s what it is), after an air combo, and I S them to the ground the move is “down forward heavy”, and I’ve seen videos of Vergil’s comboing his hyper after it, but I can’t do it for the life of me. Is there something I’m missing?
Make sure that you’re super canceling with H+another button. Vergil’s 3 H isn’t actually super cancelable, but it’s teleport cancelable. And Vergil’s teleports are super cancelable.
So really what’s happening is that your canceling high time to teleport, and canceling teleport to super. but the game will do this for you if you just input qcb H+L/M
A side note, but since there’s a lot of hit stun on cr.H and Judgement Cut you can do the cancels for cr.H into Judgement Cut and Judgement Cut into Spiral Swords pretty late and still have the combo work. The advantages to this are that the opponent will be allowed to drop down more reducing the chance of them popping out as well good spacing for Lunar Phase combos. This can vary character to character though depending on how heavy they are so it’s just something to keep in mind if you’re having difficulties.
The actual issue though lies with jump height and Spiral Swords. Spiral Swords is like a one way elevator in that it’s easy to bring the opponent up, but not so much down. So basically you want to juggle them as low to the ground as possible to prevent them from flying away. Literally, as soon as you hit up, hit :d:+:h: and you shouldn’t even see him jump. You can forward/neutral jump the first helm breaker and then during the recovery of it I manually buffer a dash and jump forward. Again, properly executed you won’t even see him dash or jump and you’ll already mid helm breaker right up against them. Hope that helps!
Ah, thanks for the enlightenment
I run Vergil on point and without an OTG assist so I don’t get much out of random knockdowns at the moment. Dante is my second with Jam Session, but I’m going to make the switch to Weasel Shot. What I lose in ez-mode anti-air (which is why I have Strider in the back anyway) I’ll get to make up for in the mixup department.
Anywho here’s what I came up with, probably not optimal, but I think using Spiral Swords so early in the combo screws with the HSD so whenever I tried to go for :s: into blah they’d flip out. Any improvements would be more than welcome.
Self-OTG combo, Weasel Shot (y), 1 Bar, Without DS: 583k~ With DS: 690-749k~
(j. j.:h:) j.:d:+:h:, Call Dante, :dp:+:atk::atk: (Charge RT), :df:+:h: xx Trick :h:, j.:d:+:h:, Round Trip, cr.:h: xx :qcf:+:l:, cr.:h::f:+:h: xx :qcb:+:m:, [:dp:+:m:] x2, :df:+:h: [xx :qcf:+:atk::atk:
I think this works better as a mid-screen combo because if you’re near the corner you can probably get more damage for less work using lunar phase/spiral sword loops. I’ve also had an issue where if I end up too close to the corner after Trick when I Lunar Phase Vergil misses and they’re sucked in by the backside of the hitbox. Maybe, a cr.:h: before it could remedy this though. After the first Lunar Phase one could also hard tag in Dante and do dash Volcano xx Beehive xx Million Dollars.
Thank you everyone for your help.
This combo is really awesome. I’m changing it to suit my OTG-Wesker assist to look like:
A: cr., cr.:h:, :f:+:h:, :qcb:+
, :h: :s: :h: xx Round Trip, :s: :h: xx :qcf:+ :l: (charge Round Trip), :h: :s:, j.:h:, j.:d:+:h:, [Wesker Assist], dash, Round Trip, cr. :h: xx :qcf:+ :l: -> B or C or D or E
B: [:dp:+:atk::atk: (charge Round Trip), dash, j.:d:+:h:, dash, j.:d:+:h:, Round Trip, cr. :h:xx :qcf:+ :l:] -> B or C or D or E
C: [:dp:+:m:, :df:+:h:, xx Dimension Slash]
D: [:dp:+:m:, :qcb:+:atk::atk:, :qcb:+:atk::atk:, :d:+:h:, :dp:+:m:, :df:+:h:]
E (meterless finish): [:dp:+:m:, :df:+:h:]
Damage:
A = 523,000 damage, +1.25 meter
A + E = 571,200 dmaage, +1.4 meter
A + C = 714,700 damage, + 0.55 meter
A + B = 673,600 damage, +0.4 meter
A + B + E = 716,300 damage, +.65 meter
A + B + C = 819,100 damage, -0.3 meter
A + B + B + E = 859,600 damage, -0.3 meter
A + B + B + B + E = 980,300 damage, -1.35 meter
A + B + B + C = 1,026,100 damage, -1.3 meters
A + D = 1,232,900 damage, -2.25 meters
A + B + D = 1,367,400 damage, -4.4 meters
A + D + Dimension Slash = 1,371,400 damage, -4.7 meters
Super reliable, does great meter building and gives me the option at the end to dump in as much meter as I want into Spiral Swords loops. Combos can start with cr.:l: but I left it out to improve damage numbers.
I included all of the spots where I dash as I feel it makes it a lot easier to land the :dp:+:m: at the end of the combo. Need to release Round Trip right beside your opponent in order for the height of the opponent to be right.
I like to start it with: jump, call A1 (Cap -> Shield Slash, j.:d:+:h: (whiff), trick :l:or , cr.
, cr.:h:. The 50/50 teleport with the trick is awesome as long as your opponents are staying on the ground.
Any suggestions from anyone as to what I should do with Vergil after I do a full Captain America combo into Hyper Charging Star -> DHC into Vergil Sword Spiral. Opponents keep falling out and I’m not sure of the best way to hit them poppws up. Ideally I’d like to get 2-3 hits then Round Trip loop.
