Yes, if you’re in the same place all the time it’ll do the same damage. Ideally you want to end your combo with Helm Breaker and teleport behind them so they’re more toward the center of the screen.

So guys, you all probably know that if you tag Vergil out while round trip is returning, it will still follow him back out.

Well, I found a meter positive combo utilizing this to get 800k off an air throw for one bar (building 2), using Zero/Dante/Vergil. (You can DHC to Vergil to up it to 950k. DHCing to Dante won’t really do much here)

I can’t upload videos, but here’s the notation.

air throw (start charging round trip)->5H->6H->trick behind->5SH->round trip->hard tag Zero (start charging buster. Round trip hits again)->dash under 5S->sj.MMH(2hits)S->dash forward->H sentsuizan xxbusterxx>L raikousen->call rapid slash->5S->sj.SS->M sentsuizan xxbusterxx->L raikousen->call jam session->5S->M raikousen xxbusterxx-.L raikousen->TK M sentsuizan->rekkoha.

Does a little more than 800k, and you can DHC to Dimension slash for more damage. You can’t really add the spiral swords extension because Vergil already used your ground bounce and wallbounce. Using lightning loop instead of rekkoha ups it to 1 million damage.

As for screen requirements, it just requires you to be close enough to the corner that you’ll be able to reach it with trick M after the wallbounce (you need to be able to put yourself in the corner). So far I’ve done it on Rocket Racoon, C.Viper, and Nemises. It’s pretty finicky on RR though (sometimes the hard tag will miss. I think it has something to do with how fast you do the SH after the wall bounce. Not really sure)

I play Vergil on point, so I try not to concern myself with super execution-heavy solo shit that is easy to drop under pressure. I worked out a pretty damaging combo with Wesker’s OTG assist. Not too hard on execution. It’s been very, very reliable. I recommend it to anyone running Wesker with Vergil. It builds over a meter or so before the Spiral Swords. So, if you want to get the Dimension Slash ender, you need to start the combo with a meter readily available.

Start with roundtrip charging or just start charging early in the combo.

Yeah, it’s pretty flashy and not too hard to set up (using both your wallbounce AND you groundbounce is a pain though). I really wish someone could make a video of this.

I don’t know what other characters can benefit from the roundtrip->hard tag setup though. Dante doesn’t get anything without that wallbounce/groundbounce. You’d have to be using a character that can get complex assist extensions I’d imagine (or just having ways to work with high HSD)

If you’re sitting on some meter, you could use it for leveling up Frank without relying on a TAC. I couldn’t get much after. Just like S > j.MMHS > THC > Camera. Only gets you to level three, but you can add another shopping cart hyper I guess. Not really worth it.

hey i am having some problems doing the rising sun combo what is the right timing to cancel in to trick then follow up with m,h,s. is there an easy way of doing it please let me know

I think you might be able to get him to level 4 actually (if Vergil/Frank are first and second that is).

After the j.MMHS just do picture->tools super (no idea what this is called)->Devil Trigger->hard tag frank->picture. Basically the thing Noel Brown does with Frank/Wolverine.

Can you extend combos with jam session into anything good?

You can convert random helmet breakers and anti-air combos leading to it into combos by calling jam session, otg high rise, trick down, sj.m, h, whatever. It is Also one of the few assists that allow you to convert into combos off a grounded throw. But i still think both of dantes other assists are better for vergil, crystal helps overall more with extending combos and weasel shot is better in the neutral game. But that’s just me.

Just a note, HSH after wallbounce doesn’t work mid-screen against RR if you use M teleport. M teleport only works if RR wallbounces off the actual corner, and L teleport can simulate the corner mid-screen.

Anywho, I’ve been trying to find a really consistent BnB using spiral swords loops without the focus being Lunar Phase since it seems to be a bit finicky. Here’s what I came up with so far, any constructive criticism is appreciated.

Requires 2 Meters (Meter for Dimension Slash is built throughout the combo)

The helm breakers help adjust the height of the opponent so the Lunar Phase can fully connect in the next spiral swords loop. You’ll also want to dash and jump forward between helm breakers to maintain proper spacing for the combo.

Other things I’ve been messing around with are Dante’s weasel shot after a hard knockdown in conjunction with high time and spiral swords as a self otg and rapid slash+swords for a corner carry into LP but haven’t explored practical applications. Just combo video swag atm.

Hi there, anyone have any tips for vergils best practical METER BUILDING combos?

I’m running a team that makes use of a skrull/frank instant level setup but it requires two meters. My plan is to run vergil on point until I get those meters and then try for the combo.

The issue is that most combos I see make use of spiral swords, any help? Thanks.

Instead of entering Spiral Sword just use Lunar Phase into High Rise instead

This is an AWESOME post. Answered lots of questions I had with regard to x2 Helm Breaker combos. I’ve also been trying to find an alternative to the Spiral Swords—>Lunar Phase combo beginning because I’ve also found it to be inconsistent, but this seems like the optimized answer. Thanks a lot!

So has anybody found some good use of strider vajra assist to extend vergils combos outside of call strider, otg high rise for another knockdown (and basically no dmg)?

I’m still soulsearching for a third character for my devil twins and switching back and forth between mags and strider so far. And no, wesker is not an option. ^^
