Nice find SMP. Could be due to Dormammu’s hitbox since I can’t get it to work on most characters. Or the Sentinel assist at the end of the combo, then again… it does end before Lunar Phase does. Good find though, for some reason I can’t get it to work 90% of the time. Looks almost like a ground bounce at the end, but it couldn’t have been, strange.

Pretty sure its sentinel assist that keeps Dormammu up high… this combo works on every character for me. Ive played around with a few other assist and it varies. Looks like the main objective is to use an assist that pops the opponent up after c.H before the last lunar phase.

I was talking about the optimized combo with one otg assist and one sword loop that does round about 1 mio. dmg for two meters. Don’t get me wrong, i really like your combos and it definitely depends on the team
setup. But even if you have a combo that deals 800k+ with only dimension slash at the end, it’s hard to reach 1 mio. with a dhc into most characters.

But i definitely agree the optimal sword loops are finicky as hell, especially against certain characters. so a good combo ending with a dhc may be worth it just for the sake of reliability, even if it deals 50 to 100k less damage.

Late, so that they’re lower to the ground (regarding when you super to get the most hits). I can’t 100% guarantee that this is the case outside of the corner as I have not tested it and can’t at the moment, although fundamentally I’d assume that the same would be true.

So there was a patch…and I think they changed the properties on Vergil’s d.:h: and judgement cuts because people are suddenly teching out of my combos when they hit them…

EDIT: so my BnBs and such still work in training mode but in H&H the comp techs out of Cr. H and judgement cuts…bug?

yea H&H has some weird HSD properties like people teching out of TAC’s before they hit the ground and shit.

Is there a way to make sure the round trip hits? I either miss or land on the ground most of the time.

I was following this thread pretty closely all the way through Ramza’s AMAZING 900k+ OTG assist combos but had to stop playing for a bit because of finals. What is the most consistent midscreen and corner bnbs for Vergil at this point? Like that work on Racoon and Sentinel alike.

Honestly, for actual combo damage I try to not use DS instead I just loop into more swords. Except against big’s like nemesis/sent/hulk the damage on DS is almost always less then doing another sword loop.

Hardest part about sword loops is that the timing is really strict on bigs because they get consumed faster for some reason. Honestly, not 100% sure lunar phase -> round trip works against all the bigs.

So yeah there’s this really dumb loop in XF3 + DT…
(whatever) (High Time, Trick H, sj.MH2H) x n
1 million+ depending on starter; ideally can ToD everyone without any additional meter.

Don’t know if the loop works as a ToD without DT or lower levels of XF; I know that you can get a few reps with XF3 and no DT, but haven’t been able to ToD off of it.

That’s kind of what I’m encountering… when I first started playing Ultimate I was using Wesker assist to do all the Ramza combos and it was working out OK except still getting some dropouts during the Lunar Phase after the Swords activation. Now that I don’t have an OTG assist though, the solo Ramza combo isn’t working very consistently for me at all on different size characters. Is this just my execution failing or is this combo overall inconsistent? If it’s not me, then what are good ways to go beyond just Rising Sun “normal” bnb to using Spiral Swords and so on to up damage consistently solo?

for those having trouble with the lunar phase to roundtrip sword loop, this method works for me.

after you throw the first round trip, do c.H, judgment cut, wait till cut hits, activate swords, c.H, lunar phase…works all the time for me.

after the first lunar phase i release roundtrip, c.H, judgment cut, c.H, lunar phase, hightime, DS. (omit last c.H depending on position for lunar phase to hit fully)

Depending on meter you can do another sword loop if you want to style but by this time you’d be close to the corner so you’ll have to do the loop with the S,H judgment cut method instead of the c.H, judgment cut way.

OK so off that I’ve come up with the following combo, which does 80k less than Ramza’s but I believe is a little bit more consistent:

c.M c.H Stringer M Trick HSH Round Trip cr.H Judgment Cut Spiral Swords c.H Lunar Phase Round Trip cr.H Judgment Cut cr.H Lunar Phase High Time Dimension Slash

Does 750k.

I’m leaving out the SH after the HSH Round Trip because I can’t get it to work consistently. Is this just my execution, or is that part consistent for all characters?

Just to be clear, inserting the SH would mean the cr.H after the first Round Trip would be SH.

For some reason I keep launching them with this; am I just not pressing fast enough?

Haha we posted the same combo at the same time! What do you think about the extra SH in the solo version? BTW thanks a lot, this makes it a lot more consistent for me!

When i do the SH loop, I do it all in one rhythm, no pauses and it usually works, you shouldnt be launching them at all since the H after the S should knock them into the returning sword or back to the floor if you mess up. Sounds like you’re not pressing H fast enough after the S, or you could also be hitting S too early and causing them to get launched by the last couple frames of S not allowing time for H to hit.

Is that how you start it after the OTG + Round Trip version? That works fine (and sometimes means the difference between breaking 900k without more meter) but that variation wasn’t really a problem – it’s the variation where you wallbounce > teleport > HSH > roundtrip > SH > judgment cut > swords that gives me a lot of problems. Basically they’re WAY too close to me to to do LP. Crouching might get them to the right height but the combination of the closeness with the height is still too much, and backdashing doesn’t work for whatever reason – looks like they’re still too high, which was surprising since the backdash has a crouch at the end. The only way that combo works is if you get the right timing on activating swords just as they’re dropping out of judgment cut, but since judgment cut is inconsistent on how many hits it does and they’re too close to the ground to react to them falling out and activate, this is not practical.

I ended up just changing the solo combo and getting 70k less (I get about 687k before super if I get the “normal” version, 619k if I do my much more consistent version.)

My version being wallbounce > teleport > HSH > roundtrip > SH > judgment cut > swords > j.d+H > j.d+H > roundtrip > c.H > judgment cut L

and at this point doing LP > high time gets me the 619k above, or I could go into another swords loop since they’re at a more workable height/distance. Still working out the meter gain stuff.

Edit: both versions build like a tenth of a meter before dimension slash if you just do swords once, so if you do a normal dimension slash ender, you end up at a net change of -.9 meter.
