I was also using that same combo to set up a left/right mix up with teleport and Dante’s Crystal assist after the knockdown of the lunar phase, thats why I preffered having Vergil out instead of Dante.

The only two assists I have had luck with in terms of using OTG High Time to combo into them and then continuing are Haggar Lariat and Chun Lightning Legs. Unfortunately there are just not enough assists that help Vergil in this aspect, possibly because of the HSD change application to assists. Viper Burning Kick is a possibility, but I’ve been unable to teleport down fast enough to catch the opponent before they hit the ground. Generally speaking, you need an assist that either locks them in place for long enough or an assist that can cause a soft knockdown. Too bad they took that away from Akuma Tatsu, it would be perfect for it otherwise.

Wesker OTG gun does wonders for Vergil. I’m thinking I might end up running either Team Columbine (Dante-Y/Vergil(?)/Wesker-B) or Doom-A/Vergil(?)/Wesker-B.

^^Vajra assist is good for this (I think may have also been mentioned on the beginning of the thread?) Hard knockdown, Vajra, High Time XX Trick Down, M, H, etc is possible for capitalizing on early knockdowns, and Vajra, High Time XX Trick Down lets add another Spiral Swords ender after your combo’s already used it’s wall and groundbounce, netting ~885k damage starting with 1 meter. It also lets you setup the nasty Wesker-esque resets off a hard knockdown if you want to keep the full meter your combo’s built.

I am doing this combo: L, M, H ~ Stinger ( :f: H), S, j.M, j.M, j.H, Helm Breaker (j. :d: H), High Time ( :df: H), Dimension Slash ( :qcf: +:atk:**:atk:)
but Dimension Slash ( :qcf: +:atk:**:atk:) wont come out, so why does it wont!?

you need to use :m: and :h: to cancel the high time into a teleport and it will instantly cancel into the hyper.

Does Dante’s jam session extension not work late into combos with Vergil? (it was one of those early combos showing how beast roundtrip is…I haven’t seen it in anyone’s videos since)

I’ve been practicing Testikills combo a lot, and for some reason the last hit of the first Lunar Phase will whiff most of the time. What am I doing wrong?

3 extension types with jam session

extension off a raw throw or j.2h into starfall groundbounce combo (hightime>jam session>SJ.MHS
simple extension in late combo (hightime>delayed jam session>immediate SJ j.2h)
super extension (spiral swords>assist>hightime>etc)

In corner with deadpool ot,

(Charge L) St.MMH Stinger SHS sj.MMH d+H Deadpool otg + Release L st.MH L.Judgement Cut Spiral Swords Lunar Phase Lunar Phase cr.H Stinger Trick M High Time Dimension Slash (Maxed out at 913,600)

For other otg assists without ground bounce resets just use St.MMH Stinger S instead of SHS

Anyone know any combo extensions involving Doom-plasma or strider-vajra? I was in the lab for atleast an hour and a half trying to figure something out. I would really like to find something out with doom so I dont go over to HM for combo extension.

Plasma Beam is somewhere between hard and impossible to extend combos with, they tend to pop out when you do it at the end of the BnB.

You can do combo extension with Nova-B since Centurion Rush ignores the ground bounce limit, but it’s corner only and I haven’t optimized it yet.

I know this is late but he just did blah blah blah xx rising sun xx trick, land, sj.MHS, land, s.MH, stinger xx trick down, spiral swords, blah blah blah.

It’s a timing/distance problem, I got it a lot too when doing it at first. It’s hard to explain but you want to hit them as they are getting hit by a sword otherwise the lunar phase hits them too high up for the final hit. You might find as well that the same thing can happen for the second lunar phase as well. Just have to practice until find the good timing

Haven’t tried it on Nemesis yet so I don’t know if he has a silly hotbox affecting this or not.

Try the corner one I just posted I’ve found it’s much more forgiving with the lunar phases.

Been messing around with OTG assists for easier/better combo extension, but damn the timing feels strict after a lunar phase hard knockdown. Anyone have any advice on when to call the assist?

Deadpool is retarded easy, Wesker is tight but doable.

Any idea, in this case, what the 2nd set of blahs would be? Here’s the weak BNB I’ve been using that I’d like to extend with Spiral Sword stuff if possible (though note I do not have an OTG assist, nor am I able to charge Round Trips sadly, though I CAN charge them upon summoning swords, just not while doing the initial normals):

cL or Disruptah, sM sH xx Stinger xx Rising Sun xx Trick, sj MHS, land HS launch sjMMH xx Helm Breaker, and then when I land either df+H into super, THC with SoV as OTG, or maybe just call STrange Bolts and teleport or whatever. Anyway, I’m guessing from your above post that instead of the HS I should do MH xx Stinger xx Trick Down into Spiral? If that’s the case, what is the followup blah blah? I’m guessing I’d want to start charging a Round Trip as the Swords summon, and I know some combos then do 2 Helm Breakers or something. Long story short, what does the infamous “blah” translate to here? Sorry, I’m a total Virgil noob. But even with shitty combos, I’m having great success with him on the back of Disruptah-teleport cheese. And Rogue Yoshi gave me the idea to use Strange’s Bolts of Ballsack assist for further beam-induced beatings :slight_smile: So if I could actually do some damage when I hit, that would be so splendid, that I actually used the word “splendid” to describe it! You shouldn’t use Helm Breaker in combo’s without having an OTG Assist unless its the final hit before you go into Hight Time -> Dimension Slash.

Your combo also doesn’t appear to use the Stinger Wall bounce which it definitely should.

Without an otg assist his combos can be pretty hard or they are typically low damage. Which I imagine yipe’s if its the one I remember doesn’t even break 700k.
Look a few page’s back at Ramza’s 830k combo if your looking for solo, but I’d reccomend picking an OTG assist if you want to get full mileage from Vergil.
