I have come to retrieve my power... You can't handle it. Vergil Combo Thread

I’m actually messing around with Eye assist extensions atm. I’ve managed to use it to add in the Spiral Sword loops at the end of the day 1 solo bread and butter; call in Strange right before the final super jump, C, Helm breaker, cancel to Swords. Starting with one bar, the combo can get two swords loops in and leaves you at just under a full bar at the end, doing around 830k. Damage wasn’t totally optimized, we could probly hit 850+ if it was ironed out. Also, I only tested it on Cap, so I dunno how well or if it will work on smaller or bigger characters.

The Eye is really finicky in this set up though, getting them to actually stick in the first Spiral Sword loop takes some finesse. Your combo definitely looks more reliable, haha.

I’ve managed to get Eye, High Time, Lunar Phase to combo at the end of some BnBs, as long as the combo ended in Helm Breaker. Finicky though. Seems more reliable on simple OTGs, like off of random Helm Breaker pokes.

Yeah, having an assist to extend combos off of a random Helm Breaker is a huge asset to Vergil’s game. Helm Breaker too good.

I’ve tried the Strider Vajra extensions and they are really finicky. Like, if you don’t call Strider at the exact right time, do High Time at the exact right time, and Trick at the exact right time, you get nothing. I’ve even had it where Strider would randomly teleport off the screen and not even connect. It’s a shame, because using it early in the combo to set up for a midscreen Spiral Swords combo grants a pretty big damage boost.

Who should I add to my team? Doom, Firebrand, Ghost Rider, or Nova? As far as I know, they all have decent OTG assists.

Does Taskmaster’s heavy shot work as an OTG assist for Vergil?

I really don’t want to eat a big one and use Wesker on my Vergil team, but the benefits outweigh the costs for sure
It’s looking like I’ll be running Vergil(a/y) Doom(rocks so godlike with vergil) Wesker(sam edge) more than likely.
Was messing around with confirms off of doom rocks, and they don’t scale… for the most part (maybe a 10% drop off in damage but being able to confirm from a random rock into 75% is pretty dope stuff)

Vergil(rapid slash)/Dante(crystal thing)/Doom(whatever) sounds amazing. I wish I could play Dante.

I believe Yipes did about four different versions if i remember right. So for the second set of blahs he did Spiral swords (Charge L), Helm Breaker, Helm Breaker, judgement cut and then dropped the combo. Another one he did Stinger xx Trick, Judgement cut, Spiral swords, rapid slash, Rapid slash, high time, Dimension Slash. Another version was Spiral swords (charge L), Helm breaker, Round trip, s.H xx judgement cut, then tried to do lunar phase but dropped it. The last version he did was Stinger xx trick, Judgement cut, Spiral swords, lunar phase, lunar phase, High time, Dimension Slash.

Stupid little trick I’ve been doing to help with Lunar Phase -> Lunar Phase during Spiral Swords is to just crouch for a split second in between the two Lunar Phases. A lot of times after the first Lunar Phase you end up too close to them, so the second one stops hitting around the peak of the jump (which is pretty easy to confirm into dimension slash anyway). But when Vergil crouches, the swords come down with him a bit, lowering the opponent a tiny bit so that the second Lunar Phase never stops hitting, no matter how close you are to them.

a few notes/changes i’ve discovered about this combo (it’s my solo bnb)

  1. to make landing the full hits of the first lunar phase more consistent, do a backdash right after the spiral swords
  2. remove the c.H before the second lunar phase. it’s not necessary and, at least for me, was one of the harder parts of the combo
  3. in order to do this combo on rocket raccoon you need to take a step forward after the trick M, and delay the SH after the first round trip. he falls out very very easily

So I finally got around to recording the videos I promised :stuck_out_tongue:

I noticed when recording I could boost my damage to a mighty 780K before lunar phase, and even with perfect dimension slash mashing (which i didn’t achieve), one could well break 950K I think. And it cost like, a TINY bit of meter, like 10% of a bar for this WHOLE combo! There are a lot of variables but I learned the best spiral sword follow in (showcased in this video), I think its about 522K before spirals. Then into lunar phase and yada… so yeah, my best damage so far and wow, look at that meter cost, literally almost nothing!

Yup! thats very similar to the one I do with Wesker’s OTG. With wesker, I have to dash forward as I call the OTG, then after the first lunar phase, I take a step back and fire off the charged round trip. Works the same as yours except u managed to sneak in an extra Cr. H before the 2nd lunar phase, I tried it, but I always drop it for some reason, so I just go Cr.H judgement cut-- lunar phase now. Yours is slightly (5k?) more damaging though haha. Props Ramza, I got a lot of my ideas from your earlier notations, thanks!

i still drop the c.H before the last lunar phase. makes the combo unnecessarily hard for barely any extra damage.

This combo with wesker… one more reason the trenchcoat mafia runs this game right now
It is way way too damned easy to get 830~1.1mil with vergil, but thats what makes him fun right.

(magneto corner loop)->Tempest DHC spiral swords, Lunar phase X3 High rise… does the easiest 1 million damage someone can do in this game I think

Wow ramza that is straight up retarded damage for no meter. Is there any chance anyone can post the notation for those combo? I’ve got the whole day to hit the danger room, wouldn’t mind spending my time on this.

He actually does sj.MMHS the first time he hits the air, not just one medium. Then when he hits the ground it’s just one s.H before stinger. Then everything’s right until the second super jump, it’s actually just sj.H, no other things, and it’s not sj.S to go back down, it’s helm breaker. Everything else looks about right to me.
