AHHHHH! Valaris, I’m so sorry man. I was reading off of the handwritten release form, my mistake. I’ll re-upload the video tonight with your name changed. Sorry again!
Not your fault, my handwriting sucks Thank you for cutting it in a way that made me so much less awkward than I really was (and for removing the part when I get dry raped by 3 guys who spotted a camera).
Ian, I think you’ve got something big here, man. I’m conflicted because on one hand I want the feature length cut to come out, while on the other hand I also want what you want, which is for you to take it to festivals to give the community more exposure.
Take your time with it. I wish you the best of luck at whichever film festivals you decide to take the film to.
Do you have any idea how long the final cut will be Ian?
Mister Cofino: I never took you to be the murdering type, but you are absolutely killing it right now.
It’s been re-upped. Sorry again man!

It’s looking like 2 hours right now, although that may change. There is a lot to pack in from 2009!
You fucking rock .
If you guys haven’t heard yet, Miles Mosley and Kamasi Washington, the guys behind the soundtrack for the upcoming feature length cut of I Got Next are hosting an awesome FREE event called AfroShoto in LA. There will be an 8-man invitational tournament, live music and plenty of drinks. Unfortunately I can’t make it since I’m over here on the east coast, but I know the event will be amazing:

Ian your description of the film is making me want to see it more and more lol. Thanks for the update and just know you have our support. Do you have any idea what the final running will be more or less? I love documentaries so I’m hoping to see a running time of at least 3 hours
Keep us posted man
I’ve been interested in this film since I heard you were filming for it while I was at Final Round XII. I understand why you have delayed the film so much, and have respect for that decision. I’m still looking forward to seeing the final version. Are you going to be selling I Got Next shirts again? Maybe at some upcoming majors? Cheers.
Just watched the short version last night and it was really tight. I’m really looking forward to seeing the full release.
i was wondering if any one had any info on when the full cut is going to come out.
An update would be great. Hell, I’d be happy if we just had 25% of the movie available for watching. Been waiting since 09’ for this.
<3 the deleted segment!
Ian got a lot of donations for the documentary… and he left everyone with no updates.
What a rip-off…
Hey guys, to quell any mounting fears of trickery, scam-artistry, con-jobbery and overall shadiness, here is a quick status update (since things are generally on the same path as before):
The film is finished, it’s been cut down gradually, it started as a rough cut at 2:30, got tighter at 2:09 and now it’s polished and ready to go at approx 1:37 (so basically you have a lot of bonus material waiting for you). It’s been submitted to festivals, and again the way the festival circuit works, you submit in the fall (or whenever their deadlines are) wait a few months, in this case the Spring, to find out whether or not your film has been accepted. So IGN is sort of in limbo right now, but regardless of how successful it is getting into festivals, it will be getting to you guys next year in the Spring. I’ve been holding off on releasing any additional content, or cut materials from the film, because I have may have some larger plans for it upcoming.
As far as seeing a portion of the new parts of the film in advance, well, I’m sorry I can’t be more accommodating in that aspect. For now you have the short cut of the film, which I hoped would earn good faith for you guys to stick with me leading up to the release of the feature-length cut of the film. To put it in perspective, the donations I’ve received, although incredibly instrumental in finishing the film, didn’t even cover the cost of producing just the short cut portion of the film, so I don’t see what I have to gain by running off with everyone’s money and not releasing the rest of the film that I’ve already shot and edited.
Anyway, I just want to assuage everyone’s worries (especially those of the donors), the film is on track and will still be coming out next year in the Spring (professionally mastered, with its own soundtrack and updated/new graphics throughout). Thanks for sticking with it.
Ian,
You’re dope.
Your next movie should be your autobiography called “I Am Dope.” Me and Mike Ross can be in it talking about how cool you are.
Vic let me be a part of the the Ian is the shit commentary! Im great at bigging him up ask him.
Joe,
Sounds good to me! But let’s shoot for less “Excellent Adventures” feel and more “Lethal Weapon” okay?
