I Got Next | A Documentary on the Fighting Game Scene

Torrent please, I missed the stream

too much gootecks

awesome movie!!! Ian is gdlk

Thanks for all your efforts in this, Ian.
Definitely captured some great footage and I thought you assembled it into a good flow of storytelling. Shirt cut of the final product to come? Yes. I can’t wait to see what this may look like after Evo.
Man I’m sure you would have loved to have better lighting/reflective lighting boards at some of the footage you had. You captured a lot of hype and character on film otherwise.
Supporting ya man, I’m sure you’re ecstatic with all the feedback.

Ian, I just saw the short cut and it was sensational. Truly, masterfully done. The full length documentary is going to be huge when it will finally be released.

Any chance for an HQ download link soon?

I thought it was great. I can’t wait for the complete version now

Just watched it two times in a row. Really great work!

Nice documentary.

For some reason, I find Mike Ross and Joe to be more interesting than Gootecks and Justin. They got the lovable everyman thing going.

Awesome documentary! Can’t wait for the finalized version.

It IS incomplete. He IS going to add Evo footage.

So there :stuck_out_tongue:

It would be so sick if someone had the funds and the tenacity to make a documentary about Japanese fighting game scene. One would probably need either a lot of contacts or just head over there and dedicate a few years to getting in that scene with the intention to make a documentary. It would be awesome to interview the top players in Japan and maybe follow someone who’s up and coming right now and show what they go through to get to the top.

I thought “I Got Next” was pretty interesting. Like other people said it felt short the way we saw it. I felt like I basically heard from the same people again and again though. So much time was spent talking to Gootecks and Justin and Mike. I would like to have maybe heard from other players around these people and their thoughts on the top players, as well as hear more from the OGs.

^ This

Really enjoyed it Ian and I’m excited for the full length version. Keep up the good work :tup:

Speaking of OG’s, does Eddie Lee not do interviews or something? He was mentioned quite a few times, I would have liked to hear from him.

I really liked it. A little rough and needs some work with the audio but a good first run. Add in some more explanation of the fighting lingo to pull in a broader audience and you might get a DVD distribution deal on the final cut.

good stuff…i enjoyed it. cant wait for the full cut

I want to thank everyone for the great feedback so far on the short cut! It really has been so exciting for me to be apart of this. Mind you, I hate seeing myself on camera and hearing myself hahaha I tell Ian that all the time. Keep in mind this IS a short cut. Ian has almost 40 hours of footage which he cut 45 minutes of to make this. Rest assure there is plenty on the way. I say this all the time, I don’t like speaking for Ian about the future of the film but have faith. He says it all the time if anyone has any ideas let him know. Ian is always open to suggestions and ideas…

Once again guys thank you all so much for the support. Really cant do much without all the support everyone has given. So thanks one more time!

when will the torrent of this great documentary be available?

bad ass doc
