I Got Next | A Documentary on the Fighting Game Scene

amazing shit ian!!!
cant wait for the longer version either

Just finished watching, amazing shit Ian. Really, really good stuff.

Long Giland Mike FTW.

great film Ian. I had a lot of fun watching it. I started playing SF4 in october and decided to get serious after seeing few of my friends who play tourneys play. And your film along side with events like bar fights and live streaming tourney just inspire me to get better at the game and dive deeper into the scene. Great job my friend and I’m looking forward to more from you in the near future hopefully. :lovin:

Finally got a chance to watch this in it’s entirety and it blew me away. It provided great insight into the community and the work that all these players put into the game.

I can’t wait for the full cut and thanks Ian for this!

hey Ian,
first off i gotta say movie was sick can’t wait to see the long version.

i know it sounds crazy but have you ever considered traveling to SBO. would be interesting to see how the japanese run things.

Fucking seconded. Hopefully there will be enough donations for you to go. That’d be sick.

good stuff

Thanks for making and sharing the film. I really enjoyed it.

Cool film. Hopefully it can introduce people to this culture/hobby of competitive fighting gaming. I wouldn’t mind seeing more shittalk though. Everyone relates to hype lol.

Thanks for the short cut Ian, the movie was really great. It kinda pissed me off when the ufrag.tv guy called you ā€œJoeā€ before the movie. WTF! Either way, we all know who you are. You’ve made quite a name for yourself with this one.

Speaking of Joes, Joe ā€œIloveuā€ Ciaramelli really shined in this documentary. I really earned a lot of respect for him and I think he’s a cool, level-headed guy. Perhaps a name change to ā€œCharmingā€ Ciaramelli is in order?

Otherwise the east coast / west coast stuff was pretty cool. I thought it would get way more intense than it actually did in the film, but I guess the rivalry isn’t as big as it is in some other games. I love this community.

It almost feels like a commercial for Gootecks lol. But its good. I kind of like the fact that the match videos are shaky but everything else is relatively still/in focus. Puts more emphasis on the actual mental battles going on rather than whats on the screen. I cant wait for the long cut because it felt like it was just getting really good.

Awesome shit!
The best part was Mike Ross saying: ā€˜There are no resets in dictionaries!’

the devastation feed wasn’t choppy

ā€œThere’s no cross-ups in spelling!ā€

gotta say that this is very impressive.

it does feel incomplete. why? well evo needs to be there! nothing that cofino can’t control sincei’m sure he has no time machine.

good work though man!

Very very very impressed with the documentary. I loved the transitions shots with the focus set on the subject before cutting over to an interview. What I liked most was the fact that there wasn’t a single frame of game footage for the first half of the movie until the sinsation match between gootecks and joe. Great editing and pacing!

Congrats Ian

This documentary was awesome. I’d honestly donate to help you travel to Japan for SBO, would be awesome to get a hands on look on every American SF players dream.

best parts were mike and ross.

can’t wait for the torrent!

Mike Ross sure loves the camera. I thought it was funny how he kept winking and smiling while Ian was filming. You’re playing in a tourney get your head in the game!
