I’ve been begging for this forever from any top tier Vega player - I want to see some Vega play really trash a good Ryu.

if i can find someone to record a match for me i would be glad to post it. i played against a good ryu last night. he started off trying to rush me down and it didnt work for him lol so he then resorted to running and waiting across the screen. which didnt work because as he ran i taunted and laughed. he would then stay back and try to spam fireballs which didnt work. i couldnt hit him with the ultra because he didnt hit me enough time for me to get it. so i just finished him with the ex bloody high claw cross up

Knucklez I suggest you ignore that guy, people like him just want attention. He calls you out for very minute things. He’s obviously nitpicking, he makes it his purpose to find something wrong with your play so he can bash you and call you a bad Vega for it. IMO overall your game was on point and you play a good Vega. Fuck the haters dude, just ignore him…better yet, play him…trash him and prove to him that nobody’s perfect.
It’s simple really…if they jump into cr.lp spam and you block the whole string they will most likely jump and try to grab next… I usually just slide under them, wait for the sweep(cuz ryu’s love sweeping when you’re at max range) and counter with cr.mp.

It seemed like a pretty basic Vega x Vega match to me. Truth be told, you won’t see the really crazy shit unless you have two evenly matched (and good) players.
I’d like to play you guys sometime, but I don’t actually have the game. I play sometimes on my friend’s XBL account under IIDXGOLD, but it’s kinda rare.

I find that my skill breakthroughs come at odd times, and not just from playing a lot.
I have started to do some player matches though - that seems to be where I actually have time to learn shit.
Ranked is good for competition and testing your skill with advancement but you won’t have time to really test things out and learn to deal with some of the BS you might encounter.
So many of Vega’s moves get stuffed and out-prioritized that it can take a while to learn how to deal with an easy-execution trick by another char - at least that’s how it is for me.
Personally I’m still getting raped by corner traps, jump-ins and lariats but I think everyone’s getting better at a steady rate so just because you’re getting stuck in BP doesn’t mean you aren’t improving.
Lariats wouldn’t have nearly the same problem if EX Scarlet had inv. frames. Also, Gief’s hitbox seems to extend to his fricking crotch during that move.
Player matches are really good for learning a particular matchup. imo, there’s not a whole lot of matches where vega is better than 4-6, so if you’re at least going even or better vs top tier, you’re ahead of the curve.

x kNuCkLeZ x: How do manage against semi turtle Ryu that knows and interrupt most of attempts? I fought this very good Ryu that knew how to interrupt and punish every attack. But half of was the luck he got from our gambles and mix ups.
But anyhow, How do you do against Ryu?
shotos who turtle are the weakest ones. if they turtle let them turtle dont rush them just stay back. if they spa fire balls jump str8 up to avoid them or ppp but time it right.
