Yeah the other guy wasn’t that bad - I think he also started to play worse because he was getting beaten so badly that it threw off his whole gameplan.

I can state first hand that knucklez has a damn solid Vega, he schooled my scrub Vega last night but he was a good sport about it and I learned a few little important things (Like my scrub tastic point blank sliding habit, and I need to work on my MP RCF strings).
I was pretty bummed on Vega for a while and thinking of going to something like Ryu but that wouldnt do me any good, Vega might be low tier but damn a win with Vega feels good, no matter how many local tourney’s I go to or how many times I hear “Lol you play as Vega?” nothing quite takes away the pleasure of winning after someone has said that. not to mention the reactions (Funny how fast people change their mind about Vega being rubbish to him being a “beast” or “dirty”)
Sure I might not have won any tourney’s but I do ok, and after going up against knuckz last night I see I still have miles to go and in my book thats a good thing. hell I would be happy to fight anyone who can decimate me by this point, I get more out of those matches than Ken/ryu/sagat players who jump in after the 4th time I have air thrown them.
Tiers are a horrible way to pick a character.
If you ‘feel’ Vega is a weak character, then use some one else.
Get a ‘feel’ for all of them and you will know when one ‘feels’ right.

No a single air throw with like a milion chance to land it (you can air throw the wall dive like 100% of the time), ex walldive outside combo wich can be stuffed by basically everything, spam of backflip which again can be punished in a lot of ways even by Vega.
I don’t want to bitch around. You’re good, your ground game is good, nice use of FA and i like the crystal flash combo. But what’s a Vega mirror’s match supposed to mean in a thread like this i really don’t know. What’s the point? Watch Tatsu playing against Gootecks or Edma, that’s how you can see what are the limits and the faults of Vega.
He had a lot of video requests and found that one only because someone else recorded it. I saw a lot of air-throw ops too but I was more interested in his KKK use and rcf combos.

Honestly, basics aren’t that basic to new players, and not everybody knows about the srk.coms of the world. May seem weird to some, but not everybody remembers what it was like when SF2 was the only cab getting play (hell, I do remember that, and I still wouldn’t consider myself a good player). There’s people here that were probably not even born yet! I think this was a cool thing to do - a little shit talk, sure, but all in good fun… then a little learning, and everybody comes out a better Vega.
ok dont bitch around then. before you make a comment use your head first. to all my vega bros. if your in a mirror match and someone tries to wall jump you. would you A) air throw them for little damage or B) kkk flip and give a punishing combo?
think about it and get back to me. those who have played against me know why i dont air throw on a wall jump.

If you choose A you’re opening yourself to fakeouts, just because you see a Vega jump on the wall doesn’t mean he’s going towards you.
On the other hand if you wait for the Barcelona attack (by that time he’s already commited) either way he wll get punished if you KKK
So KKK kind of is the best option, not to mention air throw only works if you guess right. KKK there is no guessing involved because the other Vega is already on your side of the screen by the time you’re ready to KKK.
And when you did that in that video? All i see is you grabbing the air after the KKK flip, not a single d.HK combo that would hit easily after a missed wall jump.
I played a pretty good Vega who would use KKK backflip and then immediately punish me in the face with a s.HK.
He wasn’t THAT bad though - I mean it’s not like he just mashed jab the entire game or ran into the wall or something.
I dont think I could have mustered my personal thoughts any better that what you said there. I was having just a horrible day yesterday. But with each victory came a real sense of accomplishment. He is harder to use, therefore vicroties are certainly justified. It came to the point to where I selected Sagat and Zangief out of desperation only to lose (at least my opponent had a struggle as it wasnt a horrible loss). Which brings me to this point as mentioned by…
Sagat and Zangief didnt feel proper on my part. While better characters in general, I couldnt help but feel akward as I controlled them. Maybe its because Im not too familiar with them as they are just too slow for my tastes. Guile and Balrog (Boxer), on the other hand, feel more accustomed to my play style as I love to go for counters and more risky maneuvers (Man, I think I just admitted to my mistakes!!). And as much as I hate to admit this… Blanka… isnt too bad either even if he is practically designed to beat Vega to the punch on EVERYTHING. I absolutely cringe when someone is going to select, say Ryu, sees me select Vega, then immediately goes for Blanka. I now keep my cursor on the “?” until they coose someone. Stupid fucking scrubs!! Thank goodness I dont play with a microphone as I make sailors cursing habits look like childs play.
An another thing that contributes to my lack of 3,000+ BP: My Joystick parts have yet to come on in!! I hate the 360’s standard pad, because more than half the time my ultra or supposedly pulled off move whiffs. I nod my head in complete stress as its goddamned annoying.
And Knuckles does use the 6 button fight pad…
Unimpressive?? I say absolutely NOT!! Ive faced Knucklez as he is on my friends list, and he is simply badass. Ive learned a few tactics from him and found my Vega game improving. Honestly, the only way to say that this video is unimpressive is because we havent seen him fight other characters. Knucklez, post a Zangief or Ryu win. That would be awesome.
