Could you explain what you mean by knockdown? Because the lightning loop doesn’t seem like it allows you to put the character in launch mode unless you’re talking about something completely different.
Something has always bothered me about fighting games…
It seems like the community thinks that once you get a good combo, that’s it.
You do it every time, over an over till you win.
Now, the obvious problem is that you become predictable…
and in a fight that is VERY bad.
If you change your combo up, you will lose some damage.
But isn’t that what Damage Scaling is about?
For instance, now that specials are affected by scaling,
in the air you can combo into Raikousen,
which, according to Shoryuken, is 25,000 X 5 damage or about 102,300.
Instead you could use Sentsuizan H, a different air combo finisher,
which hits once for 80,000.
If damage becomes less with every progressive hit,
wouldn’t using Sentsuizan mean more damage in the long run?
There is probably a glaring problem with this,
but my point is that variations exist in the game for a reason…
and I am sure that the developers were aware of that fact.
But, enough rambling! Just felt like ranting~!
Combo with Strider and Zero. Wanted to use some of that raw tag technology so I could get more damage with Strider. Zero’s attack while raw tagging has really great range, so it allows for combos with Strider that don’t even require :h: gram and can be done anywhere from the screen as long as you get the wall cling :h:.
This is what I am using:

Dat Raw tag technology. I’ve been working on something similar with Vergil.
If you M teleport into a corner behind someone you can do SH->roundtrip->raw tag->dash under S->air magic series->assist extensions. I’ve been using this after aithrows and getting a million damage thanks to lightning loop (1 bar lol).
Zero’s such a powerhouse, but getting him in to do that damage for other characters is just silly.

I do it after the the Dante Extender or whatever multi hit ender i.e. call Dark Hole, OTG Dive, S, j.Buster, L Raikousen. They allow for a dive at the end of sougenmu for a knockdown, course the knockdown’s not neccesary- I was just saying it for examples sake. Anyway will try out the tweaks later. Doing them too fast makes sense.

But in a more serious way, My current team (love triangle) is good and stuff, but sometimes I feel that if Iose Zero im in a huge disadv, even if I got Vergil/Dante left, I dont know I feel like something is missing (of course). I know this team is godlike, but i want to try some other anchor options, while still using Vergil as 2nd.
Zero/Vergil/"insert good anchor and good assist for zero or vergil
My choices would be either: Dr. Doom, Amaterasu, Sentinel, Magneto, Strider or Akuma.

You’re missing an OTG for Vergil and a good horizontal assist for Dante, Zero, and Vergil. with that team which is why I dropped it. You can kill off of any hit but there’s so many compromises with it. It’s a strong team on paper for sure, but those compromises hurt. Dropped Dante is out of the question for me because Jam Session is invaluable. The only other option that would be anywhere near as good would be Cold Star. Maybe you could try Zero/Vergil/Ammy?
Here’s the notation if you’re interested
air throw (start charging round trip)->5H->6H->trick behind->5SH->round trip->hard tag Zero (start charging buster. Round trip hits again)->dash under 5S->sj.MMH(2hits)S->dash forward->H sentsuizan xxbusterxx>L raikousen->rapid slash extension->M sentsuizan xxbusterxx->L raikousen-jam session extension->Lightning loop.
The super jump after the “dash under 5S” is a neutral jump. While there is a timing that allows you to forward super jump, it’s really finicky because it depends too much on how round trip hits. The air magic series afterwards also has to be done a little bit slowly to make sure you have time to dash up and otg them after you land. You don’t have to forward jump before the H sentsuizan after this (I just do the lazy input 8741236H lol).

Just tested it. Works pretty well but you need to end up deep in the corner after the teleport or it tends to drop.
Also hard as fuck to dash up Sentsuizan, you really need to delay your air string by a LOT

It does, you need to delay the round trip just a bit more, just tested it.
Wesker has a weird hitbox actually. Sentinel hard drive loops are weird on him.

You can use Sentinel assist just like you’d do with the Vergil one. There’s a different version if you want to get the knockdown using Sentinel.
Nini Heart, if you have time can you please make a recording of this (without the lightning loop for sanity’s sake)? I don’t have any recording equipment myself, and it’ll be the first time that I’ve contributed anything remotely interesting.
Would it be okay if somebody posts a new combo thread? Destin is nowhere to be found and we can tell the new players about the specific assist extensions and such.
Really not that important, the same vanilla Zeros are the only ones discussing combos anyway.
TBH I’ve got so much time now I don’t mind making one in the next 3 hours and can keep it up to date for the for see able future.
