A few pages back I saw someone with a zero/nova/hawkeye team asking about combos. That’s the same team I use so I thought I would post my go to combo.
I use nova cent arts assist and hawkeye poison assist.
LMH > 6H > S xx sj > j.M. > 236 H > call hawkeye > 236H xx lvl 3 buster > 623 L > S xx sj > j. MMHS > 236H xx lvl 3 buster > 623L > call nova > H > rikkoha
Additional enders:
After nova connects causing the ground bounce you can 623H if you don’t want to spend meter, go into lvl 3 if you want to spend a lot of meter or go for the style with
S xx sj > j.S > 236H xx Buster xx 623L > 623 H or lvl 3
I find landing the j.S inconsistent so usually I don’t push it that far.
Notes:
-After calling hawkeye, you can’t do the 236H xx buster too fast or buster will hit before hawkeye and you won’t get the soft knockdown for the lightning to connect.
-The H after the last lighting needs to be delayed slightly to make sure you catch the opponent for all 3 hits. If you do it too early, only one hit of the H will connect and they will pop out. The H has to hold them in place until the assist connects to cause the ground bounce.
-As soon as the H finishes you have to hyper immediately or the opponent will hit the ground and roll out.
-Works full screen you just have to swap the buster lighting after the first otg dive kick for a c. H.
At work and can’t remember the exact meter gain / damage but I think you build like 1.2 meters and it does 830k damage with poison and 720 before poison.
To quote Zero “I don’t make mistakes, I just cut down my enemies.”
Seriously, get your execution up to par, he’s EASIER now, and does more damage. He literally kills most characters off the first hit. I love seeing the look on Wesker players faces when they get tagged by a random 2M or something and lose their character, then eat a mixup into the same shit on entry. Zero’s only issue is getting in on zoning players, but with patience and a little buster, it can be done.
Just because we don’t pop up on wednesday night fights all the time doesn’t mean there aren’t other successful Zeros… I won practically every tournament in my region during Vanilla’s life span with Zero, and kept up with a lot of top players at Evo, and I’m sure I’ll do the same with ultimate. He might not be as derp as someone like Wolverine or Wesker but you also have the benefit of a character that has almost infinite depth with how far you can take his mixups and combos. I think it’s a much better deal.
In vanilla the LL was not necessary IMO. In ultimate probably isnt either but I have to admit, ive won several matches because I “one hit killed” 1 or 2 characters with it.
Ive been practicing this combo right here since I am now using Zero + Twins, courtesy of nini:

If you tag the LL at the end (skip the last Sentsuizan) you kill everyone in the cast, no exception, its like 1.257.000 for what…1 bar!?? like…really??
Id say if you can do it, DO IT, if not, dont sweat it and just play zero regardless.
so my 2 cents: Zero doesnt need to LL to win, but if you have it, he’s even more deadly.
i’m finding ways to get into lightning loops now but timing and inconsistency is sort of stopping me from getting more than 3 reps in. Does X-factor help or hinder the lightning loop on umvc3?
also, is anyone else getting that really annoying thing after L raikousen and then S, you somehow end up crossing up your opponent? i’m trying to find ways to avoid it by doing stuff like switching off auto-follow and moving back slightly.
bla bla whatever into L Raikousen xx Sougenmu, then [J.lv3 buster, L raikousen x3] x2 and finish with J.lv3 buster, L raikousen into ryuuejin or another sougenmu if I feel like.
so yeah, 3 reps, then buster then 3 more reps and the ender.
Moving back or dashing back fixes that, the reason it happens is because Raikousen can now cross-up in the corner so it pushes you through in that scenario. There are about 3 things off the top of my head you can do to prevent it, maybe more. Best thing is just not to do Raikousen since it adds too much to the hit-stun deterioration in which case it’s better to slap it at the end of your combos rather than 2-3 times in between and then have your opponent fall out of extenders.
OMG… I didn´t realized how the lightning loop is easy in UMvC3… BnB now…
Hehe… Joking, not abou how it´s easy (because it seens very easy), but theres a lot of better options for BnB… and I still cant found a way to TK Sentsuizan + Super, since my set up doesn´t use S (launcher).
Zero A / Vergil Y / Doom B is my favorite team and one of the best in the game. The combos are easy once you practice for awhile and still 100% without lightning loops and even if you fuck up with Zero and die which you will at some point you get amazing lockdown with Vergil swords and Doom hidden missles it’s the new Strider Doom. If you’ve taken damage from zoning just dhc to Vergil swords and go in, you can even use Ryuejin as a combo extender for Vergil. Doom alone kinda sucks as an anchor but you can easily get wins against players who don’t respect footdive and honestly the team is so good you almost never get to Doom.
Zero + Whoever help zero… I´m playing with Zero (SRK), Dante (Jam Session), third (Trish is one of my personal favorites, but I do extremely bad with her… my tatic (if I can name that a tatic) is only brainless dive kick… so in most of matches she get raped).
I found a lot of set tups for lighting loop, but only a few of them allows to knockdown after sentsuizan… The very long combo with 2 raikousen extention, and one a friend of mine used in vanilla - after knockdown, call Jam Session assist, tk M sentsuizan, S, Jump Cancel, buster, raikousen, sougenmu, LL.
It does. It’s not that hard to find really… It actually builds about 3.75 bars, but with an additional TAC to Phoenix (or anyone) you can get the rest of the meter. The only restrictions are the TAC to Doom cannot be a side-exchange and one of the TAC’s has to be a down-exchange (doesn’t matter which one).
