Yet he hits 900k with decent assists. This game relies on assists, zero particularly benefits greatly from assists because it allows him time to charge his zero buster for untechable combos. My friend has a doom combo that does a ton of damage and doesn’t rely on assists, and that’s great because assists aren’t that important for doom. Yet overall I am probably netting more damage. I don’t understand why you are so hung up assistless combos, especially when many of the assists in mvc3 do the same shit.
All of this really makes no sense. You can always charge with one of the buttons. Eg go ahead and charge with L, if you do a teleport M and need L just hold M when you teleport. Then hit L and hold and continue your combo. The 1st combo in the guide teaches this really well.
2L (hold), 2M, 2H, 6H (hold and release L),L (hold and release H), M, H, 6H, S, jM, jM, release buster, 623 M, into relaunch etc etc.
Just if you use another button just hold that button and release L when you need it. Then when you use L, hold it and release the other button and continue your combo. You can charge buster all day. Easy.
Is it just me, or does it seem like comboing into a THC is probably better than comboing into Genmu Zero? Just a simple :l:, , cr. :h:, :f::h:, :l:,
, :h:, :f::h:, :s:, j.
,
, :h:, :qcf::h:, Rekkoha, X-Factor, THC (Taskmaster(gamma assist)/Phoenix) does 1,295,500. :l:,
, cr. :h:, :f::h:(one hit), THC does 780,700.
It works on all the characters I’ve tried: Ameratsu, Viewtiful Joe, She hulk, X-23, Dormammu to name a few. Although when I was missing the landing , I simply just let go of the charge and let the full charge hit when I land, That hits everyone that’s for sure. I’ll post a video on that later.
Also still finding ways to break the 600k barrier without assists and 1 bar, so I’ll post more finding afterwards

Great progress for such a new game! Definitely going to keep on trying to refine my Zero play, but quick very noobish question
What are the numbers before the command that you wrote? ie. 237 C etc. etc. Thanks!
Just a little combo with Zero. Didn’t even know DarkDeath had a similar combo to mine O_O but here is video

This can be teamed with Lei Lei assist for a little added damage. Press assist while the second H is being done.
Directions on your pad or stick. looks like a calculator. 5 is neutral. 1 is down+back, 2 is down, 3 is down forward, 4 is back, you get the picture. A, B, C, and D–or L, M, H, and S correspond to the strength of attack. Also you will see PP, KK, to denote how many punches or kicks to press at the same time. Since in this game there are only 4 strengths, its incredibly simple to commit complex combos to memory. Execution is based more on rhythm, sounds, and hand-eye coordination than in previous games. A/L=Light, B/M=Medium, C/H=Heavy, D/S=Special. Finally, letters indicate the type of attack used. They include abbreviations like cr. (crouching), st. (standing), t.(towards), j.(jumping), nj.(neutral jumping), and sj.(super jumping) to denote which direction to hold while attacking or which type of attack to use.
Put it all together and you have things like:
Box Jump (hits cross up and overhead) for Zero into standard combo:
-sj., 5PP (air dash), jHP (crosses up), 2L, 2M, 5H, 6H, 5S, sjM, sjM, sjH (3 hits), sjS, (land), 236 PP.
Confused yet???
Thats a good one for having no assists, ill add it when i can, after testing, it seems that it requires the corner, is this true or can it be done midscreen with different timing/moves?

Should probably be the go-to BnB since it works on every character (I haven’t tested VJoe though and the timing is a little different on some characters) and carries them corner to corner. It requires multi-button charging but everyone really needs to get used to using it. You can also add an OTG assist to the end of that combo and release another level 3 buster before the Rekkoha at the end.
This is my BnB for now too.
That one’s mine too except I sometimes leave out the last f+H
It’s kind of annoying mid-screen when some characters get cross the other way but it doesn’t take too long to adjust to
Here a little combo I did with Zero. It’s not too hard, but I think it’s worth looking into as far as BnB combos.

Zero Assist Combo
Team is
Zero - any assist
Iron Man - Smart Bomb
Doom - Molecular Shield
corner combo
L (Hold Charge) - M - H - S (Jump) - M - M - H - S - Iron Man Assist - Lv.3 Buster - Lighting Blade - S (Jump) - M - M - H - S - Doom Assist - Sentsutzian - Jump Lv.3 Buster - Rekkoha - 45* Proton Cannon - Sphere Flame
With out the DHC it does 680K, with the DHC it does 950K
or
L (Hold Charge) - M - H - S (Jump) - M - M - Sentsutzian - Doom Assist - Sentsutzian - Lv.3 Buster - Lighting Blade (Hold Charge) - S (Jump) - M - M - H - S - Iron Man Assist - Jump Lv.3 Buster - Rekkoha - 45* Proton Cannon - Sphere Flame
With out the DHC it does 712 K, with DHC it does 970K
they work any where on screen. if you’re back is against the wall, the combo will take you all the way to the next wall. all you have to do is change a few things and space your jump forwards and first M attack after the S jump cancels because if you don’t they will be behind you, and time your air moves so that the launcher to the floor is as close as possible to the ground EVERY TIME YOU DO IT. Its important to have both, if you mess up one you mess up the whole combo.
Combo 1
L (Hold Charge) - M - H (3 Hits) - f.H (3 Hits) - S (Jump) - M - M - H - S - Iron Man Assist - Dash Forward - Neutral Jump Lv.3 Buster - Lighting Blade (Hold Charge) - S (Jump) - M - M - H - S - Doom Assist - Sentsutzian - Jump Lv.3 Buster - Rekkoha - 45* Proton Cannon - Sphere Flame
Combo 2 (Much Harder because it has to be frame perfect when connecting with Doom Assist)
L (Hold Charge) - M - H (3 Hits) - f.H (3 Hits) - S (Jump) - M - M - H - S - Doom Assist - Dash Forward - Sentsutzian - Jump Lv.3 Buster - Lighting Blade (Hold Charge) - S (Jump) - M - M - H - S - Iron Man Assist - Jump Lv.3 Buster - Rekkoha
I’m still trying to work on that charge will combo-ing finger work. I sort of have it down but not completely because I start by holding M and then switch to L when I have to push M for the next hit in the combo. Shit is rough.
Im having trouble connecting the HC from mid screen. Do you have to dash forward to do this??
By HC im assuming you mean his :qcf::atk::atk: and the answer is this.
Most of the time, as in like 99%, if you let your j:h: hit all 3 times then j:s:, as well as jumping forward instead of straight up to start your air combo, you will land close enough to them to do it.
Wow, came up with a no assist, no charge at start, no level 3 900 damage combo starting off a 2B. Maybe a bit weaker starting off a 2A. I am going to play around with a good way to present it, I think I might be able to get an infinite going with it, at the very least a touch of death. Only thing is you need the opponent in the corner or at most 1 screen away from it.
Destin: don’t just brag, share
Im having a pain in the ass time trying to land s.light atk after shinpugga. How strict is the timing on this? Any tips?
you can’t do it too quickly, you have to wait for the bounce-like animation to start a bit before you hit it. I’m assuming this is following cr. :h:, shippuga.
