Don’t like the idea of having Strider with Strange. Vajra’s nice, but doesn’t do much else besides SoV + Vajra + SoV again IMO, unless you happen to get lucky with red orbs.
Strange/Strider I think is a really cheap duo for cleanup duty. Like if your opponent’s second character or anchor is bleeding, you can just land a Vajra hit and SoV for the W. If Strange dies early, then you still have Dark Strider. It seems like a very momentum-based shell that could wreck shop if used right, not to mention if Strange ever gets a Vajra hit or throw in the corner, he can DHC straight into Lightning Loop, which is really stupid. He can do that with Vergil too of course.
Zero/Strange/Strider immediately comes to mind as Zero builds so much momentum off a Lightning Loop kill. Basically just kill one character, make the second bleed, then even if you go and take a piss or make a sandwich and let Zero die, Strange/Strider can just derp it out for SoV XF kills. I’d play it, but then I hate Zero and he’s pretty boring.
Perhaps, theory fighter here, Firebrand/Strange/Strider. It would be pretty weird, but firebrand builds meter well, and if he can get a snapback-unblockable thing going with eye of agamotto like with tenderizer, jam session, and other lockdown stuff, he’ll make everyone bleed enough fopr sov and some zoning to equal death. Better yet, flying fireballs and eye would make for some really nice zoning. And firebrand cannot always convert off strider into a full combo, but a lot of the times he can hit a QCF+H and do small damage into a snap, reset, or Strange TAC.
Have somebody ever tried Firebrand/Strange? can Strange use his hard tag combos after of a bon voyage for example?
Dayum tortonon, if that’s your strange in an online environment, I would hate to fight you in an offline environment.
Only watched 15 minutes thus far cuz real life is calling, but will definitely watch the rest when I get back.
I briefly tested the Firebrand/Strange shell a while back, pretty sure that you can’t do raw tag combos off of bon voyage.
Perhaps off of his H hell spitfire? This could potentially be a good duo, but I have my doubts.
Haha, Thanks man
About Strange/Strider: How about Viper/Strange/Strider?
If you can DHC into seven rings from her QCB super, can you recover in time to flame-loop? Cause if you can… daaaaamn
Vajra has its uses. I’m mostly using it for landing SoV easier. Its pretty cheap once I start actually OTGing off of Vajra.
Videos to work on:
- Strange/Doom zoning patterns
- Team Nemo stuff
- Zero/Strange/(Dante, Strider) and why people would be SOL if they ran into this team
- Hard tag/DHC combos into FoF loop
You can.
Tested it a while back. You need to properly time it, though; it’s not that hard.
@maziodyne, What exactly do you plan on doing regarding the zoning patterns?
Yeah, you can do FoF loop off of her qcb super. I use that instead of doing SoV since I get much more damage from it.
Mind on switching the order upside down? Getting into the FoF loop should be priority #1 for us. Serpentaurus is already on it. Nemo’s team is kind of a part of it. Then the zoning patterns… just my opinion though.
Well, exactly that. Zoning patterns. Nobody has really been playing hitbox-flood Strange like I’ve been wanting to see, so I’ve been wanting to look into zoning with Strange/Doom from all distances, how to create space, which projectiles to use for which situation, how/when to go for a mixup, etc. As much as possible I’d like to try to narrow it down to something flowchart-y so it’s easier to digest and apply in a match.
Can you Rekkoha into flame-loops too?
You can SoV to Lightning Loop but I haven’t tried Zero to Strange much. Reading Rainbow DHC should be enough to kill most characters anyways. And if you’re still using Rekkoha with Zero, you’re probably a fraudulent one anyways.
You can’t Rekkoha into flame loops, one of the first things I tried when I picked up Strange.
Anyways, you shouldn’t need to.
Well, just testing Viper… I might not be able to do the optimized stuff, but I know a little… she destroys hitstun during her combos… not enough loops after those
A list of characters that can DHC into FoF loop would be nice.
Still haven’t watched all of it, but I would really like to see you wave dash lot more, both forward and backward. Having good movement fundamentals is the next generation of Marvel players (aka Yipes and such). Especially when the other player start super jumping etc, giving them a welcome party when they land on your terms is key.
Other than that, seems like cool stuff
Tortonon, I would imagine having point Strange be a bit difficult but you definitely show how it’s supposed to be done. One thing I have to say is you seem to be a bit idle during the time you kill a character till the other incoming character. I can see you’re probably waiting to time your assists to do a mixup, but I think you should throw down some graces and/or an eye before they come out. It never hurts to have graces on the field whether or not you want to use it now or later. Also you can put down an eye and do mixups with that first so that if they block that, you can follow up with assist mixups, giving you more chances of mixing up.
