How to Stop Worrying and Love the Hoary Hosts of Hoggoth - The Ultimate Doctor Strange Thread

I agree. Sometimes i throw the spell of vishanti trying to catch something, and then if it doesnt work i just go for Ammy Vale of mist and start more mixups with bolts of balthakk.

I rage whenever this happen especially against Doom foot dive or Vergil :d::hp:

my friend does this really effective setup after a grab when he doesn’t have meter for SoV: grab, EoA, teleport. the idea is they roll, get hit by eye, and you get a combo. there must be some odd timing somewhere because my opponent is able to roll past the eye when i do it.

anyways, i did that setup online with a teleport :h: and killed vergil because he tried to block low to avoid the eye =]

btw, i love how 7 rings beam is (100%?) safe!!! sometimes vergil lands behind you when you parry his dimension slash, and he sits there trying to hit strange ahaha.

Love it when 7rings is activated and the opponent manages to get behind me and fails to hit me during the beam super.

The people I play with regularly realize this now though, so it doesn’t happen often anymore.

on the same token, i hate when i see strange players xFactor cancel the whiffed beam animation. you don’t really have to as long as you’re good at blocking. in my scenario, i actually hit vergil with a couple cr. :l:s while he was trying to hit me haha.

I’m liking dash forward Impact Palm + Cold Star assist when I’m playing footsies in neutral. IP is such a godlike frame trap when spaced properly and sets up that solid ass blockstring Serp has been talking about. My button layout makes plinking LMH~A2 very comfortable also so I’ve been doing it a lot more often.

i saw a strange player online who would normal jump backward+air I.P. it seemed like a good idea, but it didn’t take very long for him to get hit and comboed by X-23 =/
that and the problem with footsies in this game is no one approaches on the ground; even if they do, they use an assist. same reason morrigan’s F+:m: isn’t as useful as it should be. however, if you did have an opponent who lives life on the edge and plays footsies in marvel, I.P. might be good for stopping them.

It’s good enough because IP has a disjointed hitbox, so when spaced right, it can be used to stuff low air approaches and when you have the opponent holding down-back.

Nemo vs Frieda at min 7:00

Nemo for best Strange player ITW? absolutely top notch tech for his team.

El Gato has a damn good Strange as well.

mm nahh, he’s good and has nice combos but i’m guessing Frieda team would body his world. Mr Nemo still need to improve on his XF combos i think. The times he could hitconfirm at SJ height he never went for it but for the regular j.MH IP. I’m starting to think only Mazio and myself know about that stuff now Oo

how do you dash and continue the combo after a :l: mystic sword? =O

You input 6 6 H
It sounds dumb, but it’s an actually day one combo (IP mystic, dash IP mystic dash IP S etc…)

Wow. I’m more impressed with all the 50 hard-to-punish mixup setups he had with Nova and Bolts assist. Some of that stuff was so hot, especially the rawtag stuff and the Condor Missile (Charging Star+Unibeam) shite with Nova’s rocket punch plus bolts.

so is it like mystic sword, forward, forward + :h: or something? the japanese dude in serp’s video did it a few times.

Strange without a neutral assist is… eh, but he has some ridiculous combos and setups for sure. Wonder if I can cop some of them and apply it to Mag/Strange.

Spencer anchor is pretty questionable as well.

I was digging Strange/Doom so bad…

but then I saw graces to help on the FoF-loops… :frowning:

Yo someone please tell Combofiend to play Spencer/Strange since he has been taking a liking to the character.

Also, SMH at Ryan Hunter saying FoF (“Palm”…?) loops are overrated.

When did this happen?
