How to make the Hori FightingStick EX2 work on Windows

sigh…im still having problems.

So, I downloaded the VISTA XBCD file. (Should I have downloaded the XP one?)
then I installed and edited the information by copying and pasting exactly what I saw.
Then I restarted my computer.

The problem is, I cant load the profile into the setup utility 360.

where did I go wrong?

Having problems with kawaks now, changed the inf file etc, can’t get the emulator o aknowledge it’s even plugged in,

olease can anyone? I need the ones for vista.

What does B1(or the other ones) signify in term s of your keyboard because that what final burn uses?

Thanks

I couldn’t get this to work yesterday but it turns out I must have been tired because I clearly didn’t read the instructions properly, thanks a lot its really easy to follow :).

man, I did this and the xbcd stuff wont read my stick.

Does any of this apply to the ps3 fighting stick 3?

Nope, that’s a completely different problem in of itself. None of the steps here will help you with that controller.

Pop that into C:\Windows\inf, and you should be good to go.

I judt decided to try my joystick and did not work so l came to srk and found this great guides thxs for the help now l can enjoy playing my games plus mugen xd

I did a lot of searching and reading around for any sort of feedback/reviews on a reliable usb based stick that I could use for the pc. It seems the consensus for the HFS3 (which I’ve been thinking of getting) is hit or miss with only a few ppl saying it worked on their pc off the bat – hence I’ve decided it’s best not to take the gamble on that stick.

Anyhow, I haven’t researched as much regarding the Fighting Stick EX2 but it sounds like ppl have found definite solutions to getting it to play on their pc.

So my question: Will this stick work right off the bat if I’m interested in just using it for ggpo? (I don’t mind too much if other emulators won’t recognize it, so long as I can use it for ggpo play.)

If you’re just using it for GGPO, then you’re fine. FBA recognizes it and allows you to map all the controls to it without trouble.

Ok I put the inf file in the proper place on vista, restarted the computer, and it still only works in fba/2df, not mame. Any help that you guys can give? When i try to open the xbcd config thing, it doesn’t recognize the stick is there.

still no work version for windows xp64 :frowning:

Hey guys, i plugged my Horiex2 in and went to device manager, and followed all the comands, things going good, tested it on MAME and other emus, works great!

now i unplugged the Hori stick and went and used it on the xb360 and came back to plug it back in the pc, now it says "found new hardware horiEX2fighting stick, and then go to install the drivers but it wont go, i go to device manager and its under other devices with a yellow ? how do i get it to be reconised as a microsoft game controller like when i first plugged it in?

all i did was unplug it use it on my 360 and then plugged it back in to the pc :wasted:

sucks@! it was going so good?

any ideas team?

Cancel that guys, GOT IT after some serious mucking round, you need to have it UNPLUGGED do all the steps and then plug it in.

I just plugged my EX into my vista machine.

In the game controllers app, it shows up as the Fighting Stick EX. All the buttons work.

I didn’t mod/change anything. Just plugged it in and now it works.

::shrugs::

Stick works just fine without using the XBCD program and drivers in Vista x64.

I only connected the stick to the PC, Windows downloaded an update and it works perfectly fine in MAME, FBA and some other emulators I tried.

hello, i’am new here,
just for info, i tried your thing for my Hori real arcade pro ex

and it work the same way,
the hori ex2 profile work for it also,
just input

%XBCD_360.DeviceDesc% =Install, USB\VID_0F0D&PID_0016 ; REAL ARCADE PRO .EX

in the windows/inf folder in the XBCD.inf file

Well Good game with your HRAP EX now :stuck_out_tongue:

FOR hori Ex2 users :
[for the ones that the ex2 work without install xbcd, it’s certainly because some ex2 have D-pad racorded on the analog pad in the pcb, when other have D-pad was racorded on the D-pad on pcb.
well try before install the XBCD but if the stick don’t work, follow the tutorial.]

Thx a bunch man got it working no problem on first try now no more key 2 joy or xpadder yay

I’m having the exact same issue, only I’m trying to get mine to work on GGPO, because playing Super Turbo on a keyboard is just plain unacceptable.

My stick’s the SouCalibur IV EX2, so I wonder maybe if theres a difference between mine and the VF5 one that some of you seem to have been able to make work…
