How to make the Hori FightingStick EX2 work on Windows

In step 3, how do you add “%XBCD_360.DeviceDesc% =Install, USB\VID_0F0D&PID_000D ; HORI FighterStickEX2” to the bottom of the drivers list? its one of the notebooks?

Cool, thanks R-Jive for putting this tutorial up.

Yeah, its one of the notepads.

omfg this is sick thanks now my stick works with all emulators

i get to step 8 but when i choose don’t search i will choose the driver to install nothing is there to choose… i tried reinstalling the xbcd drivers but still nothing… what have i done wrong

I swear I can’t find this inf file, I looked in everything that says windows, the only inf file that came close was one called INFCACHE.1 and it’s not even a notepad. I also made the option to see all hidden folders what’s up?

Ok nevermind I finally found the INF file…took me forever to find it for some reason. Now I did the part where I added that %XBCD_360.DeviceDesc% =Install, USB\VID_0F0D&PID_000D ; HORI FighterStickEX2 to the driver list, right clicked and installed. Now I’m having trouble with the last several steps mainly 4 and on. I right click my computer and there is no hardware tab just a General and Shortcut tab. help please?

Also just to let you know I’m running Windows XP if that makes a difference.

got help over GGPO i’m lovin it no help needed

it works fine on my other computer which is XP, it is not recognized as hat switch
it recognizes my stick as POV hat switches on vista… how do i fix that?

thanks

when I install it with Microsoft drivers, I do automatically install software, it says wizard can not find necessary files? HELP?

When I install XBCD, my Windows/inf doesn’t have the XBCD.inf. I enabled the hidden files stuff and it isn’t there. What am I doing wrong?

This is nice, now my Hori works on windows  thanks a lot

how do i use madcatz arcade stick on the pc?

Hi guys !
thanks A LOT for this, I really appreciate it
I just got my HRAP EX. and my comp would just BSOD&Reboot while trying to install Microsoft drivers… (happened to me a lot with microsoft stuff, and I this it’s because I force EXT3 formated hard drive under windows, and the OS hangs while trying to scan them)

anyway, here’s the line I added to get the HRAP EX. to be recognised>
%XBCD_360.DeviceDesc% =Install, USB\VID_0F0D&PID_0016 ; REAL ARCADE PRO. EX

one (big) problem though… only the Stick, A,B(which are in fact LT, RT on my stick), Back, Start buttons seems to be working under xbcd setup :\

Edit: well, nevertheless seems to work perfectly like that under mame layout looks like this for me by default>
11 3 4 5
12 1 2 6
(holy crap, this is my first stick since the ps2 neo geo (that I didn’t play much anyway), this this is amazing, the controls are ridiculously easy and accurate to use compared to any gamepads I have ever played :expressionless: (the hori buttons kinda suck though, gotta change that later)

btw, I was wandering, when I press the X-box guide btn, I get the raw date 00 14 00 04 00 00 (etc) is there a was I can set this value to use the X-box guide btn as a normal/usable btn ?
thanks in advance

Edit2: okay I got it, that’s because when I go to control panel>game controllers> XBCD XBox360 Gamepad and go “Properties” the xbox gamepad setup shows up, not the xbox 360 one… anybody knows how I can change that ?

btw, here’s a profile to have a regular layout>
1 3 5 7
2 4 6 8
(9, 10 are back, start)

Edit: for the madcatz arcade stick add this to c:\windows\inf\xbcd.inf>
%XBCD_360.DeviceDesc% =Install, USB\VID_0738&PID_4758 ; Arcade GameStick

seriously…

I’ve completely given up on stick since I cannot get it to work on XP 64. At least I have the HDremix beta on my xbox so the stick wasnt a complete waste of money

No skills in tech. + GGPO = GGPO to me…thank god ST hits 360 soon.

Watched my roommate do this for 20 min. and still didn’t work.

We get the end and it won’t let us create the file we need for the final step.

so I try to follow the tutorial but whenever I install the xbcd driver, I get some bullshit like “code 10: device cannot start” after I try to update “xbox 360 controller for windows.” I’ve already modified the inf file. it’s like this garbage ex2 got bricked already when it shipped.

I also tried updating the driver via human interface devices and the update goes through but it doesn’t do a damn thing.

some pointers would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Since the redcloud50 links weren’t working for me yesterday I ended up taking a different approach. Start by uninstalling it all, then go here:

You should be able to just install those without the need for anything else. When that finishes installing add the line described in the first post to xbcd.inf in windows/inf:
%XBCD_360.DeviceDesc% =Install, USB\VID_0F0D&PID_000D ; HORI FighterStickEX2

Proceed to install it as described in the first post. Unplug your controller and plug it back in. Then simply run the set-up, as you move the joystick you should see it detecting the movements. Just apply the .xgi configuration file at that point.

If you have an Xbox 360 or know someone that does plugging it in to test it couldn’t hurt.

Links in OP are broken.

Are there new ones?

Bump.

Nobody knows what’s up with this? My xbox is broken so I can’t even use my EX 2 right now :frowning:
