How exactly do cheaters cheat?

It’s not unique to Boxer, all charge characters can do it. Boxer has the easiest time doing it cuz his Jab Straight Rush and Short Upper Rush are so fast. If Dictator’s Short Scissors or Jab Crusher were just a little bit faster in terms of speed and recovery, then he could do it too. You got the motions right, but you don’t have to hold any button. Just press them real fast (b charge, f punch, b, f punch). The Super comes out right after the recovery of the Rush ends, due to the extended input window of the Super, tho this is possible in ST too. This is also why I wish Dictator’s Fake Slide was just a little bit shorter or faster, so then I could buffer into Super doing b charge, df Kick, b, f Kick.

Edit: I should rephrase. Not all charge characters can do that. What I meant is they could do it, if they had fast special attacks. I think Blanka can do it too (Jab H Roll, Super), tho I could be wrong. Chun Li can obviously do a Kikkoken or SBK into Super using her storage property, and ST Honda could do Torpedo into Super using his stored Super, but that’s about it I think.

Hmmm, thanks. I’m off to training mode to try it out. You really DO learn something new every day at this game.

Mackdaddy, I was doing that to you in the corner a bunch of times last night. Fierce ball into super with Blanka.

Blanka can also do jab or mp ball, or hop into super midscreen.

Glad to help. It’s a GDLK technique. I hope we’re not gonna lose a Dictator player to Boxer now.

Oh yeah. I never spotted it because i don’t know squat about blanka and would never lower myself to using him because he’s just too annoying. :wgrin:

Good games the other night. Very irritating blanka BS.

Haha, no, don’t worry, psycho for life, that’s me (at least in ST/HDR). I did mess with boxer for a while last night tho, and OMG is he a combo machine. His buffer timing and input windows all seem so large and forgiving compared to everybody else, especially dic. I had hardly played him before in ST, and within five minutes of picking him up i was pulling off j.Rh, cr.Jab, cr.Jab, st.Jab xx super NO PROBLEM. The speed of his jab makes it so easy to kara cancel stuff it’s ridiculous.

I may pick him up as an alternate just for fun, i love the idea of playing conservatively for half the round then suddenly smashing somebody with a “FINAL”, but bison is staying my main. You know what they say: Once a power hungry TOD-happy military dictator, always a power hungry TOD-happy military dictator. Besides, i like wearing a cool hat with a flying skull on it while jumping on people’s heads, and for all his fancy punches, boxer just can’t compete in the headgear department.

:wgrin:

Kuni (Zangief) vs. Umehara (O-Sagat)

Gotta love that! Zero percent chance of Kuni getting in on O.Sagat. Did Kuni play that wrong or is that match just stupid hard for Gief?

Pretty much the latter.

the other video I posted was O sagat getting a serious beatdown, not the other way round. For O.Sagat to get a brutal beatdown like in the other vid (valle vs Kuni) is just priceless. But still, that kuni vs daigo vid is very painful to watch, its worst than Gunze vs Kusumondo

Well, he did very well at WCW2

Most of the special moves take too long. Boxer can combo TAP (meaty) into super since TAP doesn’t require giving up charge. Based on Maj’s numbers, Blanka can forward hop into his super. Theoretically (combo video only, even if it is possible) ST Guile can Sonic Boom into his super. Other charge specials really require interrupts - Blanka ball hitting the wall, Air SBK hitting the ground, fireballs, or double hits for something like that to plausibly work. There’s also super out of command normals - Bison’s fake slide is at the limit of the plausible range for that.

Well, he won Evo 2010

Japanese thread on 30 Hz autofire in GGPO: link

Now what???

In fact…

Spoiler

I don’t speak Japanese so I ain’t got any fucking idea what’s in there, or if it’s relevant at all. There some random “Jodim”, “sirosin” and “gomibako” words thrown out there, but of course I can not even imagine what they are actually talking about them.

Are you part of the 1% of players who cares to properly read the forum before making such retarded questions?

Didn’t want to start a new thread, and this seems like a proper one to ask this question so…

Why in the world did they even put the Turbo feature on the SF4 stick? Seriously. I’m not even sure if there’s an answer for that question.

Dunno. I can tell you that a reason it doesn’t go to 30Hz (like the old advantage sticks had) is because one of the big manufacturers doesn’t want full turbo sticks available.

I thought that GGPO had input reading, so that sort of cheating would be much easier to detect.

The turbo on the TE stick is so slow that it is hard to detect due to being significantly slower than ordinary mashing. Anyway, being a product supposed to be used in tournaments, I agree that it is hard to justify such a feature.

I have to be reading this wrong or misinterpreting it :wonder:

I know i’m new here so I wanna say off top, i’m just simply conversating with ya in a friendly non confronting way  Cause it’s impossible to read in the tone a voice i’d be using lol.

But you’re saying that using turbo on the TE is (significantly, which can mean obviously I think?) slower than mashing on the button?

Yes. I can go as high as 15 Hz on a button on Happ competition buttons and 12 Hz on Sanwa ones while the TE “fast” turbo is 8 Hz and the “slow” os 4 Hz.

Follow this link for the meaning of that word.

It’s interesting that you’re able to mash faster on Happ buttons than Sanwas. I always heard that Sanwa buttons are more responsive than Happ buttons.
