Do you actually see any place on the faceplate of the HRAP V to remove the actual faceplate without breaking it or ruining the sticker artwork??? I don’t see any lug nuts or cap sockets anywhere on top! Can we presume we’re going to have to do all the mods and hardware replacement through the bottom plate of this HRAP V like we did on the previous non-SA/SE HRAP’s?
Other than that nitpick, I like the design. It’s grown on me. If you like widescreen art, it’s in some ways better than the previous style stick base in just that way. If you’re into landscapes or duplicating the look of widescreen films, this is a better faceplate for that.
As far as the button layout’s concerned, not bad either. It took me a few seconds to recognize the logic of putting the Start button where it is. I never had a problem hitting 24mm buttons before let alone switching back and forth between Viewlix/Astrocade button layout but I definitely prefer the V-button layout a bit more.
As for turbo buttons, I could care less about those or sliders. I’ve never used them in gameplay. They’re more trouble than they’re worth for fighting games. I’m not even crazy about them for shooters, either.
Shut up, just cause they’re both rectangular in their general shape doesn’t mean anything, how does that look like a TE? And they didn’t fucking steal the layout from the TE sticks, it’s the official Vewlex layout, the cabs that SF4 and a lot of other new games use.
The HRAP V looks great. I like the placement of the start button because it mimics the actual cabs. It’s far out enough so that you won’t accidentally hit it. I’d prefer if the stick were a 7-button with a button plug so that it fully mimics the Vewlix panel, but that’s just nitpicking on my part.
If I had expendable income (or any income for that matter), I’d definitely pick one up.
The Vewlix stick looks super nice. As for the V3/VX and the T6 sticks, looks like they are putting the same crappy controls as previous cheap-o models (i.e. FS3, EX). I sure hope the new HRAP and the Vewlix sticks have actual Sanwa parts in them.
ya, i think the V3/VX will be a replacement for the FS3 and EX because the prices for them are pretty similar (around 55 bucks). I like the slant of the buttons a bit more on these new ones though, and of course the wrist space. I just hope they produce an assload of them just so i can get my hands on one easier. The dimensions of the the V3/VX are really close to the FS3/EX, the V3 isn’t as deep it seems, but is like 2 cm wider, and the height is the same. I was hoping it’d be taller and perhaps have more of a slant. Just as long as i can put weights in it i guess.
I like the viewlix for sure but I dont like where the turbo switches are. It could be different in production but really, get that crap off the faceplate, it ruins the Viewlix art.
