Hori's booth at TGS - HRAP V, Taito Viewlix, V3, VX!

Which site is holding pre orders? Play-asia?

Right, that is much better. I know they are trying to make it match as much as possible but really, drop the start button and make it a bit smaller.

And drop the Hori logo, it doesnt even say vewlix.

looks wicked I like it

I am so getting the black xbox 360 gamepad when it come out.

If I were Hori I would release the HRAP V in both SA and SE at launch and have something like twice as many SAs because they seem to be more popular. There is no point in using plain Hori parts on a stick this elite unless they are really trying to keep the price down to sell more. But it’s their flagship stick, so…

The HRAP V probably won’t be released until next year…

It’s not like the SA’s are running short now. The stick you can’t get is the HRAP 3 SE. If you didn’t pre-order that or get it from import soon after release, you’re pretty much SOL.

HRAP 3 SA’s still seem to be fairly available. Doesn’t look like they’ve run out yet.

Same deal with the Round 1 Mad Catz TE sticks.

Who knows if either Hori or Mad Catz will manufacture as many sticks next year as they did this previous year. I think most of the people who wanted a joystick already got it. The average person isn’t into collecting multiple sticks especially not at prices beginning at $80 and up.

Before you ask, yeah I want to get the HRAP V and whatever Mad Catz releases that strike my fancy. I do have serious concerns about the HRAP V and its ability to be modded. I fully expect it to have quick disconnects but am not so sure about the faceplate. I’m hoping it can be opened from the top or at least be modded to open from the top like the HRAP SA and SE can.

Dang I never realized they released an HRAP 3 SE, I only ever remember seeing the SA version.

Yep!

A very limited number of HRAP 3 SE’s were made… SE’s must not sell that well for Hori. Even fewer HRAP 2 SE’s were made according to a super-collector.

I got mine (HRAP 3 SE) from Akihabarashop. Not the cheapest stick I ever bought by a long shot but it also wasn’t being sold for a hundred dollars more ($300+) like I’ve seen by other vendors!

I know JVG had the HRAP 3 SE for a while and eventually cut the price down to $199 from. They, of course, sold out of them after the price cut!

I really don’t know that anybody has the HRAP 3 SE in stock anymore. Not that I’ve really bothered to look much. I don’t think a lot of import stores really bothered to carry them, either.

Weren’t the V3 and VX supposed to be available in Oct?

Well, they were.

NCS might have had the V3 up for pre-order but don’t quote me on that. Likewise check out other importers and ask them if they’ve gotten advance catalogs/order requests from Hori yet.

Depending on the economy, it could also be that we don’t see much of anything new until next year.

I have not seen any website listing the HRAP V Pro (the stick I’m interested in) as of yet.

I imagine the lower grade, button-soldered-into-PCB sticks will be the ones released later this year. Those would include the FS3 and EX successors (V3 and VX).

I’m on a stick-buying hiatus until my MvC2 pre-order comes in and I can afford to buy parts for mods! Recession’s hit me now. Good thing there’s something of a drought for anything really good and different now.

The good stuff seems to have come in much earlier this year. From here on out, we’ll get new runs of older sticks (HRAP Pro 3/SA) and rebrands/new art versions (Round 2 MC TE, M Vs C2). I don’t think we’ll see anything new (or good) until next year.

I believe that it was mentioned somewhere in the first post that the HRAP-Vs weren’t coming out anytime this year as they were still gathering feedback on the design.

I hope Hori makes it so that the HRAP V Pro’s can be opened from the top!

I’ve got no other real issues with the design. I like the Viewlix button layout and overall boxier, more polygonal style. The base may be a bit too long but I’d have to see that V prototype side-by-side with the current HRAP 3.

Having to do all the mod and service work from the bottom up is a pain. I took out all the carriage bolts on my HRAP 3’s and Hori licensed sticks and replaced them with lug nuts/cap sockets.

I’m hoping Hori’s smart this time and just includes cap sockets from the get-go… They have to know most of us with the skill WILL modify the sticks and put in better buttons at the very least! They could take a cue from Mad Catz that way and at least let us open all the HRAP V series sticks from the top for mods!

I can dream.

Yeah. All this stick talk in the thread overlooked the fact that Hori finally might have made the ultimate X360 controller here. If for anything it looks you can use it for something besides Street Fighter.

All this highlights that the standard 360 controller needs a better D-Pad.

Concur’d. While I’m still pushing for 360 owning friends to try stick, the non-converts will at least now have a (looks to be) good option for playing 360 fighters on pad.

That said, the HRAP V does look pretty damn sexy so far. Even though I’m having trouble rationalizing it (why exactly would I need more than 2 sticks if i’m not Markman?) I could easily find myself pre-ordering that beast. I’m also very glad the Vs will most likely be coming to 360, since it’s a hell of a lot easier to just grab a Cthulhu for a 360 stick than padhacking a 360 controller for a PS3 stick.

wow… are they really selling those for 100$?

i could see these being about the same as the old EX and FS3, but not 100.

V3 has hit eBay. http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-PS3-HORI-Fighting-Stick-V3-for-Tekken-6-JAPAN-LTD_W0QQitemZ320448216907QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item4a9c33bf4b
