I like the art and texture on the stock stick. Any method of preserving it? I know with the FS3 and FSWii that I have modded the art gets kinda warps while peeling. I was considering getting the art peel started then going to town with a bottle of goo gone. Then when I’m done with the mod reattach it with spray on adhesive.
Biggest problem I am having with mine is random disconnects. Has anyone else with a 2.4GHz wireless network experienced seemingly random drops while playing, even on fresh batteries and in close proximity to the dongle? I’m trying to determine what could be causing interference on a level that would break the connection. Hope it is not sensitive to network traffic, as I cannot disconnect half my network just to play games with this stick.
Also, would someone be kind enough to post a parts list of buttons and JLF they used to mod this stick to full-on Sanwa parts? It looks like a couple of members have already retooled their sticks, which is awesome. I’m a newb, and could use any/all information available. Thanks!
I don’t think he is including the game in his price. You pay an extra 90 dollars for the stick and while it is a great collectors item and neat if you want a wireless stick, it takes more effort to mod than the cheaper SE and for 10 bucks more (the TE runs about 100 bucks new some places) it’s not hard to compare it with the TE. I realize that they are completely different in terms of quality and a much fairer comparison could be made to the SE, but at a price range that close it is inevitable.
The art book you could probably put at a cost of $10 bucks, maybe more but even then it is still similar in price to the TE, not to mention not everyone cares for the art book although there are quite a few who do.
ive had random dropped inputs which i thought were due to distance so i moved up closer after it happened and it seemed to stop. whats strange is that the stick was working fine for about 30 minutes before it started to drop inputs. i hope it just doesnt do that randomly =\
i modded mine with buttons from grey and yellow namco stick and 2 button plugs. the hardest part about modding buttons on this stick are the tabs on the button holes, you have to grind them smooth before they will accept 30mm buttons.
i also changed the stick on this one to a stock t5 hori stick that i had around after doing a jlf mod. still had that slight rubbing sound.
Standard Sanwa bits used are the JLF stick and OBSF-30 pushbuttons. That said, I think the modded one’s shown here haven’t modded the stick yet and are using the buttons from the Namco Arcade stick.
My mistake, I meant to say Namco Arcade Stick but Tekken 5 came to the top of my head because imsonotek mentioned it in the previous post (but referring to the stick, not the buttons).
Thanks for the info. I’m curious to see if anyone can squeeze a proper stick in this case. Will upgrade the buttons, as that looks easy enough.
My drops seem to happen at any distance. Same as your experience, things work fine, then bang, disconnect. We’ll see if things improve over time. I’m hoping it’s just interference and not a problem in the hardware.
Has anyone here who has modded this thing or in the process of modding found that it’s easier to start with a 360 stick and add a PS3 pcb or the other way around?
generally speaking…thanks to the cthulhu from toodles, it’s safe to assume that it would be easier to mod the 360 version. it would be a little less work anyways and considering the fact that the cthulhu is smaller than a 360 pcb, it would be an easier fit as well.
