Hori tekken 6 stick

2,3 second input delay on my T6 Hori at the moment. Input delay on PC and PS3, any suggestions? I have a feeling I may have to request a receiver replacement from HORI.

All of the uSW.'s have continuity when they are pressed. However I have to hold any of the buttons/stick direction for 2 seconds then the input is received on the dongle. If I just press the button no input is received. Emailed Hori today for a replacement dongle as all the uSW.'s are good, if it’s not the dongle then the wireless PCB may be failing and needs to be replaced.

Anyone experience this failure as well?

Just found a temporary solution to the input problem. I believe the stick is not remaining “associated” with the dongle. I believe it is disassociating as soon as the input is completed, which is why I can only input a command if I held it down for 2, 3 seconds.
If I engage any button and keep it activated, any input during that time is immediate and functions as it should.
So if I press my “select” button the stick will stay associated with the USB dongle and I am free to input any commands and the receiver responds as it should.

If Hori will not replace my dongle I will short out my select button and remove the batteries after each use. I love this stick and do not want to replace the PCB at this time.

I can’t find my user manual but if IIRC there’s an auto-off feature for this stick correct? Please let me know if the PS3 manual states there is an auto-off feature. I believe this feature is constantly activated and is the reason I need a constant input for the stick to not disassociate with the dongle.
Now to determine if this problem is with any of the components on the wireless PCB, loose cable, shorted contacts, failed chip. All I need is a schematic and theory of operations manual =\

Please let me know if this stick has an auto-off feature or not? Thank you.

Looks great. Where did you get the plexi for this?

You’ll need a dremel or file to grind down the tabs on the button holes. Dremel would be best, since then you can make the holes a tiny bit bigger or grind down the sides of the buttons. I found that the Sanwa buttons had some weird bits on the side that made them very difficult to fit in the holes without some dremel work.

Make sure you have a good amount of desoldering braid. I used up almost 2/3 of a spool since they used massive amounts of solder on all the buttons.

Help is on the way :stuck_out_tongue:

Hey, i own a HORI Wireless Fight Stick 3. From what I’ve read, it is the same stick as tekken 6 bundle stick for ps3.

Its manual doesn’t mention anyway to turn off the auto-sleep (which activates after 3 minutes of no activity). I’m attaching my Hori Wirless FS3’s manual pics below. Its just the manual, no circuitry or detailed help in there.

I would also like to know where you got the plexi done or if you could provide the dimensions and a template for it. Pretty please

I got some of the limited edition seimitsu push in buttons and had to make the holes larger to even get it to fit :S As far as desoldering goes I really don’t get what people would use it for on this project. Yes you are removing the buttons from the board but I didn’t use any desolder at all. Just heated up the points enough for it to separate from the board and then threw it away…

Template is in this Thread.

When I got this one I mostly left it in the corner and used it only occasionally.

The longer I have owned it, the more I have warmed up to it, though. The weight and dimensions just feel really nice, the only real drawback out of the box is the loose stick. 360 having dongleless play is solid as well.

I’m not going to get too attached to it, though, because i’m certain it will shatter into 10 pieces the second I drop it.

Been reading alot about this stick lately, my question to you guys that own this stick is, what are the good and bad things about this stick? Because I have a TE and qanba q3 atm. The only reason why I am interested is because I have seen the joystick by itself (no game) for about 70 $AU which is about 60$US. From what I can gather so far about this stick is that, its difficult (not impossible) to mod internals etc. Now for the price I just gave, do you think this stick is worth it? Also I know its wireless, but that doesn’t really clinch any deal because the q3 is also wireless…

Actually this is one of my favorite sticks to play with. It’s actually not too hard to mod depending on what you choose to do with it. It can be just as good as any other stick if not better, done right. I picked mine up for $50 including the tekken 6 game and box. The wireless play is sweet when i’m feeling lazy, and there’s no latency as far as I can tell.

Pros: Light, wireless/convenient for mobile, cheap to get, 360 ver needs no dongle. Can be modded cheaply and be competitive

Cons: Have to grind for buttons to fit, need to desolder old buttons (or you can just break them off like I did, lol) , ps3 vers. has a dongle that you might lose. Seems Fragile, Needs a Tri-shaped security screwdriver. (best bet is to buy online)

Easiest Mod IMO (Though a bit ghetto the way i did it…this is for the 360 ver. PS3 you need to desolder since its one big piece so you can’t just go krazy and snap pcbs, lol):
1.) Get the tri-shaped screw driver
2.) desolder/break off old buttons/PCB thats attached to it (remember which wire connects to which)
3.) Install new buttons (grind holes to fit. I used a nail filer, worked just fine)
4.) Desolder/ghetto wire the old wires by twisting new wires on the old tips, electric tape the connections, and connect it to the respective buttons
5.) Get one long exposed wire and solder/ghetto connect it to the old ground wire, masking tape the connections, daisy chain it through all the buttons
6.) Do ultimate JLF mod on joystick (in my opinion this works just as well if not better than grinding a bunch of stuff out and epoxying the LS33, not to mention its a lot easier)
- I used 1 round of masking tape for the actuator, 3 folds of the post-it notes for each of the microswitches

Overall it wasn’t too bad, it was my first time moddiing anything too. The only real problem was the tri-shaped screwdriver. Hope this helps you (and anyone else) who would like to mod this. I plan to go back and re-do the wires properly when I decide to swap the art, lol.

Thanks for such a quick response, lol i never knew that you can get addicted to sticks! lol i only bought my first proper stick about 3 weeks ago (the TE) and just got my 2nd stick (q3). lol half the time i feel im more into the sticks than the actual games sometimes!!! lol saaaadd i know… :stuck_out_tongue:

Just happened to browse this. Yea i definitely feel ya. The T6 was my first buy, then the TE, then came 6 sticks after…matter of fact im about to buy this agetec right now, lol. You can most certainly get addicted to them. I guess it could be worse. I think i just might spend more time on the actual sticks than the games, lol

lol glad im not the only one! hehe

Damn, I want to mod my buttons/art, but even after reading your posts, I’m still scared about messing it up.

We can do it for you.

I manage to put an LS-56 in my Tekken stick. It takes some work to do.

What you must do:

  • Cut off the screw holes for the Hori stick base.
  • Sand the bottom of the case right to minimal surface area
  • File the bottom of the shaft right down to the bottom of the screw socket piece
  • You must mount the stick by placing the mounting plate on the OUTSIDE of the stick and drilling through the case into stick mounting holes. You can probably do this without the mounting plate too. But I didn’t care to try.
  • Once you do this, there is still not enough clearance for the bottom of the stick shaft. You have two options:
    – 1. Use a bat top. The screw adapter on the LS-56 will press against the shaft cover and suck the stick shaft up enough to give the shaft full clearance.
    – 2. Place taps between the screw holes of the case to separate the case enough to create more clearance for the shaft.

I will post pictures of what my butchered Tekken stick looks like later.

i have the tekken 6 limited edition bundle. my stupid nephew lost the usb receiver that is used to operate it.

does anybody know where i can get another?

hi, it´s handmade, i did it at home, using the original template, i have the template in .psd i will share it.
