The art is glued to the metal panel of the stick. And the buttons further fix it to the metal. ie Small part of the buttons also covers the artwork. Buttons soldered to pcb.
In other words, either you have to do a full mod (desolder buttons etc) scrape of the art, glue in your own and reassemble. Or you could try removing the art without desoldering anything (ie from the top) and glue the new art around the buttons (sb was asking sth like this a few posts back). The 2nd option I would not advise. The 1st you must have some experience with this stuff, otherwise it won’t be easy…
Thanks for posting up a solderless solution! This method looks neat, I think I’m going to try it out. I have a question though, where did you stick all the grounds for all the buttons?
Bah, alright. Thank you very much for responding, I’ll try whatever of those choices.
I created a ground chain, with its end stuck in the ground pole of the home button plug.
The PCB is common ground as far as I know so theoretically you could mount it to any other ground point too. There is no specific reason I chose to go for the home button, gunmowed some posts back stated that you could connect such a chain to the ground pin of the battery for example (If I remember correctly it was battery plug pin 1 but check it again).
I did the ground chain across all the buttons too. Although my wiring is a mess so I’m too embrassed to show that, lol. Here’s a picture of the outside tho:

Also Thought I’d share my experience on my mods on this stick. I desoldered the buttons from the PCB and replaced it with a clear bubbletop, 6 clear seimitsu PS-14KN buttons, 2 white sanwa OSBNs, and 2 clear seimitsu 24mm start/select buttons. I have to say though, doing this as my first soldering/desoldering was a very tough learning experience, lol (burnt a part of my finger because the crappy suction thing i bought got caught on the wire…got annoyed so i just broke off the PCB and pulled off the rest, lol. Figured i didn’t need the parts anyway). Filing down the tabs with a nail filer is also very tiring, but it works, and it’s cheap. =)
I also modded the joystick using the method from the ultimate JLF mod tutorlal. i used folded posted notes folded 3 times for each of the microswitchs to make it more sensitive, 3 laps of electrical tape around the actuator to shorten the throw. I also tried mixing the stock spring with the home depot spring that this thread talks about. It worked really well in terms of the snap back to neutral and sensitivity, making it easier for me to to execute the moves…but it was SUPER tight, to the point i actually got kinda tired after playing for 30 min. So now i’ve taken it out and it’s back to the normal spring
Overall it works MUCH better than the original. The electrical tape actually kinda changes the way the joystick feels. It flows much smoother now. I will probably be getting some JLF springs and try to put that in there along with the home depot spring to see how that works. And I’ll probably change the art/repaint it sometime in the future. Right now it just seems like too much work to undo and redo all the wiring i had to do.
PS3 Panel Sticker Question
Is it possible to remove the Tekken 6 art without opening the stick or removing the buttons? I’d like to just have the metal panel, (I think it looks pretty cool) but I dont have a triwing or soldering skills!
splitt442, the answer is six posts up…
Noodlz, can you put art inside those buttons on your stick. If so where do you buy yours from.
Well, thats a :lp::lp::r::lk::hp: to my reading comprehension skills… :bluu:
Yup. you can put art in the buttons. I’m probably going to do that together with when i change the all the artwork. I actually got mine from videogamesnewyork.com. It’s slightly cheaper there (3.75 instead of 4.00)
Thank You both for the websites.
Over at Lizard Lick I found the stuff I need. Can you guys tell me if the stuff I list will be OK and if I am missing something I will need? I you guys have any suggestions for a different stick I will take suggestions. I picked it because necrodus said it fits well.
*Seimitsu PS-14-KN 30mm Pushbutton
*Sanwa LB-30-N Joystick Bat Top
*Seimitsu LS-33 Ball Handle Joystick, 2, 4 & 8 Way
*Tek-Innovations Arrow Dustwashers (Picked it because it was the only non-black one on the site but a white one would be better)
I probably need some wires and soldering supplies as well.
You can buy Dust Disc directly from the guy who makes them if you want; arthong.

It should be noted that the PS3 version of the T6 stick is not common ground, but actually common power.
So instead of each button having a ground going to it, they all have a power line going to each button. The button signals are active high.
This shouldn’t really matter though. Just means it can’t be used in a dual mod and that you can’t wire a ground wire going from the -neg side of the battery supply and daisy chain it to the buttons.
Edit: And you all should be glad that you didn’t have to figure this out the hard way. I found out about this lil info when I was trying to dual mod both the 360 and PS3 pcbs from the T6 sticks together and it took me a good chunk of time to realize why it wasn’t working.
Nice, may get one of the etched ones.
I have a 360 stick but I am definitely going to do my research and look at different tutorials before I begin messing with the insides.
eliter1 you might want to look into getting 2 24mm buttons too if you want to change the colors. If not then just leave them since it doesn’t really make a difference in play. Also word of advice for desoldering, buy one of those small suction pumps instead of the expensive push button ones. It works much better. As for the stick i thought about using the LS33, but i didn’t want to do that much dremeling and permanently epoxy the LS33 to the case. you should try out adapting the ultimate JLF mod to the stock stick to see how you like it, since it’s pretty easy to do and requires no soldering. (you’ll need post-its, and electrical tape. And if you happen to have your hands on some JLF/LS33/LS32 springs you can try and mix/match them to your liking. I know lizardlick sells the springs for pretty cheap too.) You can check out this thread for the Ultimate JLF mod:

Oh, and word of advice on tightening the 4 screws that hold the joystick in place. Don’t screw it too hard, it snaps the screw (i did it and had to find a replacement)
Hope this helps.
I think I am going to go with all 30mm buttons but I will definitely try the Ultimate JLF mod instead.
Question about the artwork. I do not have photoshop and I have really limited skills in it, where do you guys get your artwork from? The best place to get this printed is some place like Kinko’s right?
Here’s my modded T6 stick.
Replaced the PCB with a Paewang 360/PS3 PCB.
Replaced the joystick with an old Namco joystick.
Replaced the switches in the dark hai buttons with Sanwa SW-68 switches and added 2 white OBSF-30.
Replaced the Start and Back buttons with Sanwa OBSF-24 shells using Seimitsu switches (less sensitive)
Added some bitumen mat to give the stick some weight.
I have no idea what I’m gonna do with this stick since I already have a kick-ass stick. But hey, it’s always nice to have an extra just in case I guess.

Nice Mod hedjlond! I think i will steal your idea and try the bitumen mat to add weight =P
Eliter1 for artwork I’d probably look through like deviant art or look under the art thread in this forum. Logix has posted some really nice templates for the TE, you could probably modify that somehow.
On a side note, anyone know what the stock size of the screws for the joystick? or where you can get them?
So I grabber a blow dryer, flat head and some Goo-Gone and removed the panel art in about 5 minutes without taking anything apart. Pried it a bit with the flathead, used a blow dryer to loosen the art and it came off easy.
I was careful around the buttons and the will sit flush with a little pressure. Goo-gone removed any additional residue, now I can love this stick!
modded one of these for my gf, the slim wireless case is really slick.
i noticed the template on the original post isn’t accurate. since i managed to remove the artwork cleanly, i decided to scan it to make an accurate template.
it might be useful for anyone else who’s modding one of these.
