Hori tekken 6 stick

oh wow…I just found out something about the ps3 t6 board and its not good news.

The buttons are active high. They all share the same line…the 3v coming from the batteries.

I think I’ll just swap the ps3 t6 board with a sixaxis+ my Leo board .

What’s that mean for modders, exactly?

nothing really if you’re just swapping buttons. It makes dual modding it a whole lot more trouble some.

a friend of mine has the ps3 one and recently it started to not respond after the green light recognized the stick, but the weird thing is the start, select, r1, r2, l1, and l2 buttons would work but everything else doesnt including the stick

its not just a 360 problem for sure so im still wondering if its a problem with the parts or the PCB and if it can be a simple fix or would it just be better all together to take it back, get it fixed, then modify it

:lame: /wrists

Damnit. That’s not good.

Just got my for the 360, so far, I love it. Fingers crossed hope it doesn’t start acting up funny. But man, wireless sure is sweet.

I sold this POS of a stick to someone who liked it despite its problems. Used that money to invest in my future seimitsu qanba 2 ^^

does anyone have like alot of “play” with the stick before actually clicking a switch with the joystick? like theres alot of neutural zone

Yep, thats the biggest flaw of the stock pieces imho, the HUGE dead zone

This may have been answered but has anyone found a way to change the cover art on the stick? I like the Tekken 6 art and all but SF4 is my main game lol.

excuse my laziness in not looking through the whole thread, but I just have some questions about modding this thing.

I want to swap out the buttons and the joystick first, see how it works out.

To do that, I just pop the pcb on the buttons off and solder the wires in place with the crimp connectors on and drop the buttons in, yea? It’s common ground too, so that shouldn’t be a problem. Gotta bust out those tabs on the case as well.

For the joystick, what would be the best way to go about it? Cannibalize a JLF and pop in on the stock Hori base? will a JLF even fit in the case?

Finally finished modding this thing.
Cherry switches, sanwa octo -gate, sanwa spring, and sanwa buttons.

Kinda had and idea of a rorschach test with the art. Didn’t quite come up with like it, but i still like it very much.

What do you think?

TumTum, that looks really good. Nice work! How long did it take you?

I’m working on the same mod myself right now, just waiting on parts to arrive. I bought Sanwa buttons, balltop, spring, switches, and gate.

If you don’t mind, I have a couple of questions for you, since you’ve done this already.

Are you using just the Sanwa spring, or did you combine the stock Hori spring with the Sanwa spring? How is the feel?

Did you use a template for your art? Or did you just do a big printout and cut it to size?

Scan of artwork

All, I removed the artwork from my Xbox 360 stick and scanned it into my computer. Here is a very high quality scan of the artwork:

I don’t have PhotoShop, otherwise I’d try and make a template out of it.

Very cool.
Thank you for that.

I don’t even have one.
But cool.

I just realized it’s not a perfect scan. I peeled off the artwork and it had a nice curve to it. Thus it was hard to get it to lay completely flat on the scanner, so the dimensions aren’t 100% perfect. Just doing some rough guestimates with a ruler, it looks like the artwork is 11.25" x 7.25".

Thanks.
It didn’t took that long. Few hours with artwork and then another few hours with actual technical modification. But i did it in small different sections within three days or so, so i cant be exact sure.
It wasn’t my first mod thoug. I’ve modded my Hori EX2 before this, so i kinda knew what to do. Atleast this time i wasn’t frightend all the time, haha.

I had parts ready for almost 2 months. I was waiting my friend to hand draw me an art for the stick, but at the end we decided to scrap that idea, because of his other things. It would have been so awesome to have hand-drawn graphic.

I’m using the Sanwa spring. There is a thread somewhere in tech-talk wich is about issues that Sanwa octo-gate brings with it when thrown in to otherwise intact Hori stick. There is this kickback -effect (don’t remember what is the exact official name for that) where you also get an opposite input if you tap quickly your stick in one direction. I don’t mind that much about it, but if someone has any advise to get rid of it i sure like to hear em.
Sanwa spring is little stiffer than Hori spring so that problem is not that viable with Hori spring, but a little stiffer spring than that would be welcome.
Never heard about combining Hori and Sanwa spring. How it is done?

For art template, i used the one by Hunter-Zero, submitted in this thread about 10 pages ago. That template is made for PS3 stick, but it works pretty well. Stick hole is bit off, but you can pretty much just erase it off in photoshop and then jus cut the hole for the stick when you have sticked the art on top of your controller.

Hope that helped a bit.

So i found this stick(360) on Amazon used for like $47. I wanna buy it for my younger bro, so he doesnt have to have THE BEST of sticks but. Do you think for the price its all good and worth it? The only other thing is we play MVC2 endless… I tried reading through alot of pages to see all the talk about the stock stick but, most talk was just of modding. So forgive me if this has ben asked before. Does MVC2 put to much of a beating on this stick?

Im playin right now on a MadCats SE that I just swapped out the insides with Sanwa parts. I think he would be fine with the square gate so you guys think its worth it for the price? Its the bundle pack. Thanks!

I just got the bundle. It’s ok. The stick and buttons could be way better. Does anyone know if it’s normal for the stick to have a lot of play? It seems a bit loose.

BTW, I just bought the stick on Amazon. Warehouse deal (beat up box). Arrived to find that it was literally just that, a beat up box. T6, the stick, the book, everything was in mint, untouched condition. 48$ couldn’t be beat.
