So, no word yet on Hori USA pre-orders for the Hori Soul Calibur V joystick as of last night…
(I wonder what Hori is going to call the case… Will it be another HRAP series or branded as something else? Have a feeling they’re going to pattern releases like Mad Catz is doing with the TE and {eventually will} the FightStick Pro cases. Not too surprised that the Gundam: Extreme joystick with the same new case is coming out so quickly now.)
The only mention now of the SC V joystick is the same press release everybody sees when they go to the Hori USA store website.
That should be the retail price in the UK,it still comes out to around $163 US. It always seems like you guys always pay out the ass for electronic media
It’s to do with multiple extortionate tax rates imposed by the government and import shipping costs. On the plus side, eBay is the Great Equaliser if you have the patience to wait & will power to search. The UK still has it much better than places like Sicily…
Right now, they list their price as close to $197. (Add $60 onto that price if you’re thinking of ordering from P-A and importing this stick to the US.)
Hopefully, the US release doesn’t go above $160. (Shipping will be around $20-$23 in the States. Maybe less or free depending on what Hori decides.) Fingers crossed!
US gamers may be able to get their hands on the stick a few days earlier than Asian fans but I haven’t read anything about an official release date yet.
I estimate the total cost + ems shipping to be approx 15000yen ( approx 190USD+)
I liked my hrap v3 sa a lot & knowing that this ver is full sanwa parts just sealed the deal for me.

So far all Hori says about the US release is to expect the stick out "around the same time as the game."
What that means for actual release date, I don’t know… I’d expect this to be a limited edition that will sell out within two-three months, tops.
Who knows how many of these sticks are being imported into the US???
But do we know whether or not it’s an HRAP-class stick?
I could look at the price and assume it is, but quite frankly they could just be getting charged $100/stick to produce the things and had to jack the price up lol.
Well just got my Hori SCV Fightstick just swapping square gate for octagonal and balltop, will not be taking pics of pcb do not want to void warranty by accessing bottom plate. Looks good working great at the moment.
Just dual modded a Soul Edition last night. Got to say, Thanks Markman!!! There’s almost no glue on the connectors, and on the USB, there is glue from a normal hot glue gun. Can just peel it off in one piece. There’s even much less of the red glue on the screws. Stuff was the bane of modders everywhere…not bad at all now, though. Just enough to keep stuff together.
Is that damn glue gone?
Mine should be here tomorrow (or I’m gonna be really sad), first thing I’m doing after I make sure its all working is opening it and installing a TE Kitty in it, so that’s good news. I’ll be sure to get good shots of both sides of the pcb, I know there was some interest in it.
