Recharge you phone of course…geez
…or charge your bluetooth headset, ipod shuffle, xbox controller, etc…
What are your thoughts on this Hori having storage compartments for usb cable and spare parts, could this version be wireless.
good question I didn’t even think about a cable compartment if there charging around $150 I’m sure there will be one
The hell with it I’m going for broke and get both Hori version for PS3 and Madcatz for 360 and dual mod them. There both sexy and elegant in design for me, must have yes.
I can already picture a M.Bison mod for the MadCatz ver. The Hori look very similar to custom cases so quite possible that it will be popular to modders unless they go with the soldered on pcb again which it looks like its not. As for stock artwork I like that MadCatz design idea but it wasn’t executed very well (they I think is probably trying to replicate the clash between the Soul Caliber and Soul Edge but the two clashing/contrasting pictures is not very attractive).
I think visually the MadCatz stick does look better but based on the artwork… and based on the build quality offered by Hori overall I think the Hori version is probably going to be better. If the Hori buttons are the same ones that they offer for the Fighting Stick series or the ones that they offered at Season’s Beatings (they had a booth there with a customized VLX and V3 SA using original Hori parts I’ve never seen before) I’m definitely going to pick myself the Hori version once it comes out Thanks for showing both versions!
They aren’t “original Hori parts”, but Sanwa parts found in the HRAP V series (Seimitsu parts found in the ‘SA’ versions). TE Fightsticks use the same Sanwa parts.
Stock Hori buttons and joysticks are quite wretched.
As much as everyone loves to rag on Madcatz- I’ll be honest I am not at all happy with my HRAP VX purchase. the plastic quality on it is the pits, it has quite a few nicks from traveling locally with me, and the cable compartment nub fell off so I had to make a new one myself, something I wouldn’t ever expect a regular customer to do.
If this stick is the same plastic quality as the vx? no thanks, i’ll stick with the madcatz one, i’ve seen TEs take 10x the beating that this stick has, and my hrap2 as well,
…
what?
The Buttons you saw are actually the Sanwa OBSC-30, not HORI Original Parts.
I know that the HORI guy told you the HRAP V3 SA and VLX shown with HORI Prototype.
But I got the real details, and I was with permission, able to open and take pictures of the goods.
What is true though, is that HORI does have a newly designed Joystick.
I second that what
Yes.

Also. I can answer questions here.
What do you want to know?
The Hori one, as far as I know (and don’t ask me how much I know) is not using Sanwa parts.
Oh and a chrome bezel? I have one. I’ll show you guys when I get home. Too much travels.
Do you know if the hori will be available in the states?
How did both madcatz and hori both get the licence for soul I cant remember this happening for a stick sold in the same market is the madcatz version not going to available in the Japan market
thanks
As far as I know, both will be available.
We will have our SOUL Edition FightStick in Japan as well.
Nice to get both, how’d you come up with a chrome bezel for the madcatz soul cal.
If this is the case we should be able to count on a stick around $129 like the hrap T6 and (jp only)vanilla SFIV HRAP they all came with hori buttons it would prolly be around $99 (PS3 HRAP) if it wasn’t licensed
Responding to what monkeyodor said above:
“…and based on the build quality offered by Hori overall I think the Hori version is probably going to be better. Sanwa parts are not found in any of Hori’s Fighting Sticks series IIRC which are just stock Hori buttons.
No JLF?
Good to know, hopefully you can improve on the Fightpad
