where can you get a 1.5 jlf spring?
Paradisearcadeshop.
Have a bit of an issue and could use some help. I decided to swap my Sanwa buttons and JLF (with the octagon gate) from my 360 Hori VX-SA and put it into my PS4 Hori HRAP4 Kai. Did everything without a fuss, buttons work fine, but the JLF now won’t register the up-left and up-right diagonals at all. Rechecked the connections and nothing weird, still doesn’t work.
Is your jlf harness is aligned & mounted correctly?
Plug in the Hayabusa temporarily and test to see if all the directions work.
Could also just be an issue with your jlf’s actuator wearing out and not able to hit up/away & up/toward and the same time anymore with the diagnol-restrictive octagon gate.
How old is the jlf and when’s the last time its worked correctly?
- Yeah, I made sure it was as centered as possible when mounting it.
- Hayabusa works 100%
- You may be right. The JLF/stick is about 3 years old and definitely got its use. I did get it to register a few times in up-left and up-right, but it wasn’t consistent and inaccurate. Sucks, the stick was working fine only a few weeks ago on my PC playing Killer Instinct. Not too much of a worry though, I’ve already ordered the octagonal gate for the Hayabusa from focusattack and just felt impatient
EDIT: apparently it’s a common problem with most octagon gates being used with Hayabusa sticks - you need to couple it with an oversized actuator like the Kowal 1mm to get diagonals correctly.
I have a hayabusa and a jlf for about a year i used the hayabusa with a 2lb spring. Then i said lets try the jlf with kowal and 2lb
Felt like the 1.0 kowal was too much for me. So i got a 0.5 kowal from pas not sure if its even working
How ever i notice my jlf does jumps up left and up right while in neutral sometimes in killer instinct
Can the 1.0 kowal fit in the hayabusa with no problems i heard you had to round it off
Just want to see of the hayabusa with amy kind of acutator is worth the effort
Also feel like i need the longer shaft some days wine feels awful or hurts so im still not used to fight stick my first 2 years

I not going to entertain the debate concept of the whole pivot jumping issue.
I am finding the whole discussion is BANANAS and I feel enough people made their arguments on both sides of the issue.
If the wine grip hurts, don’t use the wine grip.
There like a dozen different ways to grip a controller.
I prefer the Eagle Claw grip, which also provides a downwards force and prevents any pivot jumping even on a LS-32.
Also Paradise Arcade Shop does not sell the Kowal actuator. Kowal is a exclusive brand to Focus Attack.
The PAS actuators are very different in design from Kowal’s actuators.
Oh and if Minions does not tickle your fancy there is THIS
What would cause my jlf to jump like that?
So would the 1.0 kowal fit fine on the hayabusa i heard it snags with stock hori gate

Go back to a few previous post of Moodchilde’s and read what he has to say.
The JLF pivot does not jump like the LS-32, some how you are lifting the JLF’s ball top up as you move.
I not going to go into it any further.
I don’t use Kowal actuators on the Hayabusa. So I am not sure what to tell you.
Also the actual kowal actuator only comes in 1 size, Paradise Arcade offers multiple sizes.
I don’t think he’s talking about pivot jump, sounds more like he’s referring to actual up inputs. If that’s the case, check the inputs on your pc and see if the up switch is sticking. May need to clean it out replace the switch.
These are finally back in stock at focusattack. Just ordered mine looking forward to checking it out.
camacho it only happens in ki i can’t get it to do it in fightcade or on ps4 only in ki do i get the jumps stuck in on the corners cleaned greased replaced switches still doing it

And its only happening in one game?
Sounds to me like a execution problem than anything mechanical in the joystick.
Does the problem constantly (as in that input is always reading) occur in KI? And I’m assuming you’re playing on pc? I have a game on PC (Yatagarasu steam release) that does that with certain pcbs (a brawlpad pcb in my case, though I saw several other users complaining about the same problem with other controllers)- it’s possible there’s an issue with the game itself. Do you have a different stick you could try the lever in?
i play on xbox one i posted about it on the ki forums no one had same results. ki is the only game it does in it dont happen all the time tho just now and then.
its caused so much greif i put the hori back in
A lever doesn’t care what game you play on, it will respond the same. Why is this in Hayabusa thread? This is not a lever issue.
He could have a switch sticking occasionally.

He could have a switch sticking occasionally.
On one game.
I’m wondering if he just happens to be playing KI way more than anything else, or maybe he’s hitting up way more often on that one.
Technique (as Darksakul mentioned) coupled with a worn spring and worn switches could be the cause as well- all the barcades in my town that have at least couple Japanese cabs have a minimum of one lever that’s been pounded enough that a direction won’t always return to neutral if you hit it light and return very slowly.

coupled with a worn spring and worn switches could be the cause as well
Not for only one specific game.
The level it self does not care or wants to care what game are you playing.
It could be the technique, but what you are saying is he never jumps in any game but KI on the Xbone?
