I swear, everyday I come on here, i convince myself I’ve made up my mind on the new stick to try. Last week was the Haya. Yesterday was a toss up between Haya and LS-40. And now you are telling me that the friggin JLW feels better than your Eurostick???
The only thing I know for sure, is that i’m not getting a JLF. Had the privilege of borrowing a stock one from my friend for the last 3 days, and I can execute just fine on it (I swear, after playing on Happs all my life, I can execute easily just about on anything), but it isn’t for me. Its engage is nowhere close to that of the IL Happ/Eurostick, and it just isn’t as responsive. Just dashing on it in USFIV is umpteen times more difficult that dashing on my Happ.
I honestly think I’ll try the Haya. I don’t need another heavy tension bat top. I want to try something different. I want something that executes qcfs, qcfX2, and dashes quicker than my Happ. That’s all. I’m really starting to consider whether I should just stick with my dam Happ. I mean why fix what isn’t broken, u know?
Just wanted to get the feel of another quality, fast executing stick.
Everyone is different and everyone has there own preference. There no one perfect joystick, there never was. The only thing you could do is take the time to try everything out and see how they would work with you.
I’m gonna build a box with each type of stick in it as soon as i can afford them. End of discussion. I’m tired of driving myself nuts reading threads about these different sticks and trying to narrow down my selection to one. Haya, LS-40, and LJW. In that order.
As our esteemed President mentioned, you might want to pick up a JLW whenever you can find one, if you’re planning to eventually do so. Hayabusas aren’t going anywhere, LS-40s are still pretty easy to get. I got a JLW on a whim after Moonchilde mentioned them, and while I haven’t found a home for it yet (pretty large footprint) I’m glad I bought it, just because they’re harder to find now.
Yes, the JLW feels a lot better than the Eurojoystick. And it has an available circle gate, if you grew up with Happ. The spring is definitely not as tight, so it’s less exhausting to use for modern fighting games where performing continuous cancels and combos is necessary. While the spring isn’t as tight, the microswitches are heavier, so you can feel the actuation a lot easier.
Ironically, it’s the engage that I like the least about the Eurostick. The microswitches aren’t equidistant from each other, so the zones are a bit off.
I’ll admit that I’ve never tried a Korean stick, so I don’t know how those feel compared to the JLW or Eurostick. I’ve only heard that the feel of the rubber grommet takes some getting used to.
Yea so I’ve been reading. But I don’t notice it one bit when I’m playing. Kinda glad I grew up using Happ, cuz lemme tell you, if Sanwas and Seismitsus had been the common thing in my local arcades, based on online reviews, I would have never even touched a Happ, much less own 3
Quick update: Still waiting to get the LS-40 and the Haya. I might be away from home for a year so just waiting on confirmation before I get these shipped to Trinidad and might not be here as opposed to being away and foregoing the outrageous shipping costs altogether. I am just dying to test out both sticks. I’m trying my best to stop reading up on them on here so I don’t form a bias before even actually mounting them and trying them myself, but it’s hard
im modding a stick for a friend and he wants to keep his hayabusa, he just wishes it was alittle stiffer. I read on the first page that the LS55 spring goes in no problem. Ive heard ppl say you can put the jlf spring in there too. If thats the case, might as well use the 2lb spring. Lmk if this is incorrect info and if there are different options.
The hayabusa just feels loose butthole to me. But its probably due to using the ls38 for the past couple of months. I really like it alot.
anyway, thanks
I’ve used 2lb springs in 2 hayabusas so far, and they feel great. Vlx has a kowal actuator and 8 way gate, wouldn’t go back. HrapV has the stock actuator, also aces but a slightly longer throw.
I’ve been trying the Hori Hayabusa and was wondering if it’s normal for the lever to lift when pushing against the gate? My JLF lifts up a tiny bit against the gate and requires you to pull straight up to lift the shaft higher, but I find the Hayabusa slides up the gate at least 1mm much easier than the JLF.
Ok thanks. Is this the same thing as the pivot pop people mention with the Seimitsu LS-32? I read some posts by GeorgeC saying the Hayabusa did not have the same “pivot bearing popping” as the LS-32.
Yes, but it’s extremely pronounced on the 32, way more than any other lever I’ve tried. The jump is so big on the 32 that the small jump in other levers seems almost nonexistent by comparison.
