Hori Hayabusa unboxing + mods!

I meant the way it came from the manufacturer.

Do you have any comment on the lubing? Or do you just do the little pivot piece?

The pivot is all you really need to lube.

Gotcha. Thanks. I can’t even conceptually think of anything else that would even benefit from lube.

I really wish the HHS had a shorter throw. That’s the only reason I may consider sticking with the JLF.

Also, are the JLF and HHS stock spring / actuator the exact same?

C’mon man. Use your brain. Anything that slides could use lube. Like, lube the shaft where the actuator slides on. Lube the ends of the spring so that when they turn on the plastic parts they don’t slowly grind them away. Lube not only the pivot but the part of the shaft the pivot spins around.

Why do we constantly have to think for you? I’ve had you on ignore forever but people keep posting replies to you and I end up seeing them anyway. I keep thinking, maybe you’ll figure it out on your own but look here, you haven’t. You asked how many times about lube, people give you some info to go with, and you still need your hand held.

As for the JLF and Hayabusa spring being the same, why not take a look at them and squeeze them? Yes, they are the same, you could have figured this out on your own.

This is the last time I help you out.

I asked because I misplaced the spring and actuator to the HHS, dick.

Also, no one has ever actually said anything other than lube the pivot, but they’ve been ambiguous in their responses - hence my question. No one has to “think” for me but considering that people have said different things about the lubing I wanted some clarification - is that so awful? You say that I should realize it like its plain as day, but plenty of reputable people have posted different things about it, so how the hell could I be expected to know when I’m so new to this?

EDIT: Am I going to get torn a new one for asking if the JLF and HHS actuator are the same?

Yes you will get torn a new asshole because you have a set of eyes and can check for yourself!! If you also used your eyes you’d have seen that the Hayabusa had lubricant on the shaft where the actuator slides up and down when it comes out the box!

People don’t have to tell you every little detail! Maybe the pivot was a starting point for you. Maybe you could try and experiment. What’s so damn hard about that? Why do you need to ask us for everything?

So what if you’re new. I was once new. You know how I learned? By taking shit apart and experimenting, sometimes at the cost of a part and some cash, but I learned new things. If you can’t do this, then you don’t belong here!

Did you not read what I wrote? I don’t know where my HHS actuator IS!

You don’t need to know where it is! When you opened the box, did you not see the shaft was shiny with lube when you took the actuator off it? Why can’t you do the math? 1 + 1 = 2. Shaft + lube = I can lube the shaft.

Can you not google for pictures? Or even read this thread, where it was stated over and over the JLF and Hayabusa have many identically designed parts?

Seriously!!

Tried that, (dick). All you can really see from pictures is a little bit of the top. Google image search hori hayabusa actuator and you’d have the same problem. I also did a search on the forums and there was some ambiguity. You’re being a real fucking asshole. You’re saying that I should sit and read through 17 pages rather than ask a simple question? I went through the searches - I usually do. Reading every page of every thread is a little insane though.

And what the hell are you even talking about with the lube? I’m not even asking about that right now. I opened that box months ago and messed with it. I don’t think I should be expected to remember every detail. Also, if it was so ‘clear as day’ then why the hell does every other person I asked about lubing say ‘just lube the pivot’?

Just put me back on ignore. The questions I’m asking aren’t a tenth as bad as you’re making them out to be. You just don’t like me, not the questions. If anyone else asked them you wouldn’t be half as much of as a dick. To be fair, from what people have PM’ed me, you wouldn’t like me based on the disagreements I had with Jasen and PAS alone - even if I hadn’t asked “stupid questions” in the past.

EDIT: By the way it seems you’re wrong. At least to me the HHS actuator looks different than the JLF; it has a different curve to it (small amount). I found the thing buried in my parts box. I thought I looked in it before but apparently not well enough. **Here’s a picture **of my three actuators. From left to right - Kowal, HHS, JLF. So…yea. Unless I’m missing something those aren’t the same.

Then you have a shitty memory if you can’t remember the state of the stick before you took it apart. Also, on the VERY FIRST PAGE WITH PICTURES AND A DESCRIPTION I MENTIONED LUBE ON THE SHAFT.

Look, if there is lube on the shaft, then that means you can lube the shaft. If you aren’t satisfied with people telling you to lube the pivot and want to know what else you can lube then there is your information. It’s NOT DIFFICULT to figure this out on your own. Why is it that I can make this conclusion but you can’t?

I’m not even going to bother replying to your shitty search skills. The information is there, you just didn’t look hard enough, or didn’t read through the first few pages of this thread. If you didn’t want to read through the thread for your information that is on you.

I don’t care if you have issues with Jasen and PAS and that people PM you and share the same opinion. You could publicly state you hate their guts all you want and I won’t give a fuck. Good for you, blah blah blah. What bothers me is you don’t think for yourself. You need your hand held for everything. You bomb us with questions and when people answer them you go to another source and ask the same damn questions. Then you get confused and ask more questions because you can’t make what you will from the information you got. Look, maybe tech isn’t your thing, maybe you should just play on stock parts and live with it. I don’t know, I don’t care. Stop pestering us. I’m starting to think you’re just a troll and you’re doing this for “fun” to annoy people.

Now fuck off.

You have no right to speak for the ‘collective’ tech talk. Is this your forum? Then no. I have just as much a right to be here as you do. I can think for myself just fine and I’m not going to justify my actions to you.

By your fucked up standards no one should post anything. My hayabusa is making a weird squeaking noise with the stock spring / actuator and everything lubed. Is that something I shouldn’t post about? Search ‘hayabusa squeak’ and you will literally get nothing. You would / will probably call me a fucking idiot for even mentioning it, right?

You don’t like me? Ignore me - simple as that.

EDIT: No one PM’ed me about issues with Jasen or PAS. They were PMing me about the fact that you are very close with them and felt the need to run to the rescue and defend whoever it was in that thread we were arguing in a while ago (even though they didn’t need defending). I don’t currently have any issues with Jasen or PAS. I was just posting about some problems I had with some information. Both PAS and Jasen have been very good to me.

Why did we get drug into this? I’m not aware of any disagreements with us, and it’s really somewhat disappointing to hear that people are sending PM’s trash talking other members.

Read my edit. I’m basically just trying to say that he was an asshole to me because of us going through some issues that we had with something that have since been resolved. It wasn’t even really an ‘issue’. I’d have to go back and look at it but he was being a huge dick in that thread, to which I got several pm’s saying “he’s just being a dick because he’s really close with PAS” or something like that. Again, its irrelevant. I was just trying to say that he’s going to find every reason he can to be an asshole.

I’m going to just end this whole thing and do what he’s probably already done and hit ignore. If someone has an issue with someone else they shouldn’t start shit in an open forum, they should do it in a PM. I guess Moon wanted to strut his stuff - derailing a good topic in the process.

Still disappointing that people on this forum are calling other people Butt Buddies, I would hope that disparaging comments made about other members, as well as using derogatory comments about homosexuality is something this forum would not look kindly on. Disappointing to know there are members who see this as appropriate discourse.

I changed the language. I’m extremely sorry for even posting that. Its just a turn of phrase and I didn’t even think if the connotations. Only one person who PM’ed me (out of 3) used that term and is not a fair depiction of the context. If I’ve offended you Bryan, or anyone else for that matter, please accept my apology, as it was not my intention. I shouldn’t have even involved you guys at all, Bryan. I was just trying to reiterate my point but that isn’t an excuse.

I honestly wish this whole last page could just be deleted. This shouldn’t have taken place at all for one, but if it had to it should have been done privately. I could definitely be better about spending more time reading and less time posting when I have a concern.

The Hayabusa is made by Hori. It’s first appearance in a retail controller was in the Hori Fighting Edge released in June of 2012.

Snip! Double post.

Thanks for all the research guys. My Hayabusa will be here on Saturday (knock on wood) and I’m eager to get back in the game. The microswitches on my JLF PCB went out on me, and I figured if this happens again, I’ll have a better quality stick, and I can just replace individual microswitches in the future.

Awesomeness Awaits
