You are the best Mr. SNK I look for your vids everyday

I freaking love what you did on that Yang FT10 so many smart things just went on that match:

insane hands pressure
cr. LP = win
standing HK on footsies stopping him dead in his tracks
the traps: standing LP to crouching LP, crouching LP to standing HK, hell even the cr. LP, cr. LK, cr. LP -> hands thing you do was tricky
EX buttslam as an anti air catches jumpin divekick attempts AND the neutral jumps he used to bait you
Generally refraining from using headbutts unless itā€™s unexpected or for sure anti air.
Delaying the input on the hands after standing LP so that it would not OS instead come out as a weird trap and also that dash -> hands at the right spacing
That jumping MK walk under the reset, I loved that stuff

plus overall pretty good reads and clutch moments

very nice job I learned a ton of tricks at that vid lololol

Probably old hand but in an effort to keep Honda boards going Iā€™ll toss two obvious pointers out on the blanka matchup. If they like to wakeup elec, meaty cr.mk will light them up. This is good for two ways, because if you want to make space and frustrate the guy, you can cancel to headbutt and knock them away (or even super), or of course just go for damage with cr.mk hands roundhouse or better still Jewelman them with cr.mk, hands, ex hands, jab hands. EX upball will beat you though, not sure about without meter but Iā€™d guess a trade.

And if the blanka gets desperate with the lightning ball ultra at point blank, keep in mind you can u1 as it goes up in the air and beat it clean as it comes down.

I want to get back in the game and go Honda FT, but I just canā€™t figure out ways to get out of vortexā€™s with this character. Seth, Akuma, Ibukiā€¦just donā€™t have a clue.

do ex headbutt whenever you can
seriously against seth - it is actually a great option. Also anti-air sethā€™s wall jump with ultra 1 - it feels great

Timing? I see even Ross get ex.hb blown up by DK

Sent from my Nexus S 4G using Tapatalk 2

dk is tough, time it as late as possible
If the seth likes doing back jump, wall jump bullshit, as soon as you see him jump backwards towards a wall, be prepared to nj fierce

I hate Dhalsim

-All I can do is sit there and block fireballs and try and headbutt his arms. I feel like if he just threw fireballs at me he would win the match.
-I use RH Buttslam to get in on him a lot and he doesnt seem to be able to do too much. If they were smart they could fadc and punish though so this is never really a good option against anyoneā€¦ I try to anticipate a fireball so he doesnt have time but this is lucky at best.
-When he uses teleport to try and get behind me, as soon as i hear that noise I just do jab->HHS and i can usually catch him. IS this the best option?
-Walking forward is useless, he will just hit you with his arms.
-When he throws out his Ultra (yoga inferno seems more common) i can usually get away or block it. It seems to be safest when you just block it. I feel like he is just waiting for you to do something so its better to just do nothing.
-When he has super you cannot jump in at all he will yoga flame you.
-Jumping in in general seems impossible because of that stupid knee but I have been able to catch him with FP a few times
-When he jumps, you have to wait for the very last possible second to catch him with a headbutt. 9/10 times he will just teleport and punch you so its not even worth it.
-Every single headbutt can be punished, altho only for small damage on EX and light punch

I hate Chun Li

-She can just sit there and throw fireballs as well and if you try and jump in she will tkae you out with a punch. Again I just sit there and block and hope she does something dumb. Usually they will walk right up and try and hit you or air throw you type thing, I like when they try and do this shit cause it at least gives you a chance to hit them.
-Every headbutt is punishable by super so you will get destroyed if you bother. Headbutt seems like a complete waste of time in this matchup.
-One nice thing I have found is if Iā€™m trapped in the corner and chun is waking up I can usually get a sk buttslam off, it seems to beat ex spinning bird kick
-FP HHS can even be punished by super so I dont even bother with that shit if she has the meter
-RH Buttslam can be FADCd so it sucks for getting in unless you can figure out exactly when she will fireballā€¦ this usually helps but her recovery is pretty damn fast again lucky at best for getting in.
-Is there ANYTHING you can do to get in??? At least on the bright side, unlike dhalsim, you can somewhat gain some ground when you block a fireball because she doesnt have normals that can hit you from full screen. If she tries to walk up on YOU or jump in, you now have chances to hit her. If she doesnā€™t then at least you got closer. Once you are in the corner this match gets WAY easier.

Thanks for the reply  i was told by someone who plays dhalsim i should jab-FP hhs as soon as i hear the teleport noiseā€¦ but i kept getting hit - never knew buttslam was a good option there.

i have been fidning if i just get 1 good hit and sit back the chun li player gets frustrated and goes in like crazy giving me WAY more options to fight backā€¦ i keep getting hit with the normals from both chun li and dhalsim when trying to walk up but i find the longer you wait to walk up the less likely they are to stick those annoying normals / throw fireballs so often, they seem to sense danger.

1 more question - when dhalsim jumps up, what is my best option? you canā€™t headbutt him because he will teleport -> punish, sometimes i can wait til he teleports and THEN punish but its hardā€¦ maybe thatā€™s when i should be using butt slam instead.

<- a nice little recent video I found on how Stev0 bullies a dhalsim player lol

Rush down aside notice how he maintains going to that sweet mid range spot that causes the dhalsim to always be on his toes thus prone to mistakes and more or less limits his annoying zoning on honda. Notice how he uses MK at the right range where itā€™s hard to punish with a knee or back+ MP. He also used an empty jump once punishing the whiffed knee. Keep in mind the correct ranges you canā€™t memorize it like a book so itā€™s a matter of fighting dhalsim a lot and yoā€™ll get used to it. Also notice how hard honda hits with just one good read of hands or even a buttslam dhalsimā€™s life goes down fast.

Sim jumps to bait something, anti air you with jumping MP, run away or do a sniper. I donā€™t know if any sim jumps toward an opponent thatā€™s kinda not their gameplay most of them either uses neutrals or backjumps. What I do is if they jump and I donā€™t think I can punish them with buttslam I just walk to them lol to close the distance just always watch out for the snipers you need to block high. Just keep in mind that if they throw out a normal already they canā€™t teleport anymore (or vice versa if they teleport they canā€™t do anything else anymore and just float down) so look out for those and punish accordingly (like those errant backjump snipers)

Wow he jumped in a lot of times! No fear! so it looked like he used jumping medium punch right off the hop - is that a better option for taking out dhalsimā€™s standing normals? Also against Chun Li + DJā€™s standing normals?

@ 1:42 i noticed to get in he simply jumped right in front of dhalsim and then activated hhsā€¦ I noticed mike ross does this a lot - seems liek a good tactic! Just needto make sure you get good spacing.

He also uses the butt slam a lot - seems a lot safer against dhalsim than it does against other characters, I get focus crumpled a lot from it. I suppose it helps to find times when they simply cant FADC like if they are jumping or just finishing a fireball.

Reading his pokes and countering with EX Headbutt seems really crucial. A lot of guys go fireball, poke, fireball poke, or fireball poke poke, or fireball fireball poke.

I played some good matches against some decent dhalsims last night and did pretty well; I did eat a few ultras :frowning: but i am learning to deal with all the tricks. I normally try to aviod jumping all together and just try and block everything but it looks like when steveo was far away and dhalsim activated the ultra, he jumped back as soon as he saw that dhalsim was teleporting.

Another thing I noticed is he is fairly patient with dhalsimā€™s jumps - just like you said - wait until he makes a normal or teleports- THEN make your move! I was always in the habit of throwing the headbutt too early and getting punished for it.

also punishing the teleports with butt slam seems to be quite effective

I need honda honda tips.

Iā€™m looking at you jewelman @_@ ggs

For now I can say that crouching honda can be easily comboed into ultra 1  Video coming soon!

What kinda tips are you looking for?

none in particular lol. me and jewelman played each other 2x in pools at the 25th anniversary tourney in Austin and it was literally my first time playing vs a good honda. I did poor job of handling light buttdrops. It was some good games. He beat me in losers finals to make it out of pools so Iā€™m still feeling the salt.

I havenā€™t a clue what to do in the Cammy fight anymore. It just seems like her buttons in the air allow her to get in for free, and then I canā€™t get her out. Her up close game is the worst pressure Iā€™ve ever experienced since her throw range is good and she can blow up tech attempts with ex cannon spike. I pretty much HAVE to keep her out in this fight but I donā€™t know what tools to use to that end; Iā€™m at a loss.

her jump roundhouse destroying nj fierce is really demoralising :frowning:
