c.lp is faster and has better range than s.lp. During focus crumple you should c.mk xx HHS, s.rh for 322 damage for a lvl 2 FA or 380 for a lvl 3.
For mk to hhs do u do the same piano motion right after the mk? Or is there another trick to it?
It’s a buffer. lp+mk x 4, hp is the clean method. But I’m sloppy so it ends up looking like lp+mk x 3, mk+hp x 3. Thumb on mk, pointer on lp and pinky for hp while moving my hand up and down to press the buttons. That way my thumb keeps pressing mk so the rhythm is consistant. Also by pressing mk+hp I usually end up plinking some inputs which results in extra hp inputs.
I’m at about 85% with c.mk xx HHS and 10% EX accidents.

Now back to Honda. Tele your method works well but I don’t think my fat hands are fast enough to pull it off. I usually Cr.Mk while sliding my hand Sugar Shane style.
After trying the rub method, I gotta say, it’s pretty damn effective. Give it a try if you haven’t already. Make sure to not press too hard on the buttons. Just need a slight brush of each to get the commands if you’re using jap buttons.
for mk to hands i go like this. thumb mk, pointer lp, ring hp. I roll my hand from left to right thumb and pointer almost simultaneously to fp, then fp x 3 with ring. Works very very well.
what was the video? it got removed :lame:
just wondered how you guys space your fingers with your chosen button order.
I do lp,mp,hp,mp,hp with my middle finger but have heard of some people spacng to fingers for one quick rub over all 3 buttons ending with a total of 5.
Only had a stick 3 days, really need to get this down. Have it at about 60-70% now.
i was born with the gift of button mashing with one finger so i basically have a seizure with my middle finger over FP and hands comes out, if you were ever good at mario party games or didnt need a turbo controller to survive the torture of metal gear solid you know what i’m talking about:cool::wgrin:
To whomever suggested doing the HHS in ‘batches’ - you are a godsend.
Seriously , try this, it works very very well with getting it out consistently every time - group the first lp, mp iteration into 1 group, then the second lp, mp iteration into a 2nd group, and the final hp as the 3rd group - hit them with your fingers in batches like that.
1 - 2 - 3 - lp,mp - lp, mp - hp. Works pretty much everytime.
I’m going to give this a try. I usually can get lp xx HHS by pianoing lp. mp. hp. then double tappin hp. but I kinda feel that its a little mashy and can lead to wasted ex meter too often
Hey, I made a little video on how to get MK > HHS to come out. Check it out if you are still working on it.

Gen is able to do MK xx hands xx MK hands fadc MK hands xx MK hands. Is Honda able to combo off his FADC? If not is it because his jab is too slow?
Wow thanks! I started using the method with hitting the thumb on mk at the same time as starting the piano motion and it works like a charm. And you’re right Telepathic, cr. mk. HHS is actually way more consistent and easier to do! I actually took a break from sf4 for a couple days to let these new muscles develop after all the pianoing and I’ve become way better at it.
I’m gonna try to switch my bnb from j. RH> cr. mk> f. Headbutt to J. RH>cr. ml> f. HHS> RH, it does like 50+ more damage at 389 (edit. I just tried it again and it did 392, I guess it depends on how deep the HHS is?), also I just tried out nj. F, cr. mk, f. HHS, RH, and it did 402 damage! I’ll definately need to get that down perfect since I land n. fierce all the time but without much follow through. Man I’m getting excited about the possibilities although I’m sure it will take me a while to develop the muscle memory to be able to do these consistently in matches.
Yeah, it definitely takes a few days to get into your muscle memory. The great thing is you can practice it anywhere. I always find myself at work meetings tapping out Hundred Hand Slaps on the desk.
I need to take a break too, my wrists are getting super tight, but the arcade has air conditioning and my office does not!
i use the slide method as mr snk demonstrated going lp,mp,hp,mp,hp and sometimes i can do it consistently but others my fingers get jammed on the buttons and all kinds of crap. I cannot piano to save my life (im left handed and not in the slightest bit ambi dextrous) so the slide is my only option.
Can anyone else who slides please help a fellow sumo because im not using this in matches. I land cr.lp all the time with no follow up (maybe a HB if i have charge) and at the moment im limited to jump in hp>HHS>RH or super which is nice n all but i need that ground pressure. In fact, i fucking love HHS xx Super. Pure sex.
Is it recommended i upgrade my fightstick so it has the sanwas from the TE? I take it they are better because they need a softer push and therefore should be easier to slide on.
Sigh, another hour or 2 in training mode tonight. Its all worth it.
I use slides, pianos, mashes, and buffers. I use two different slides. One for c.lp and one for everything else. For c.mk xx hp HHS, dash HHS, or lk xx HHS I use :hp::mp::lp::mp::hp:. For lp xx HHS I use :lp::mp::hp::mp::hp:. The key is to not lift your finger off the buttons going for :mp::hp: lift :mp::hp:. Kind of like > > > lift > >. Instead just rub the motion out like > > > < >.
Sanwa buttons will help but I am as proficient with my fs3 as with my Sanwa modded hrap3. I do recommend a Billiard glove because they save your fingers.
I finally got this motion down, I cant use the sliding motion at all… So I finally just wrote down the button sequence and realized that this piano method is pretty easy… now all i have to do is practice this durring game.
thanks for the tips telepathic, lifting my figners off mid slide is helping lots.
Toying around with the idea of maining E.Honda, but HSS always felt like I was pounding on the buttons. Hopefully applying this method will allow me to transition smoother rather than mash and ex randomly
