Honda HHS Tutorial Video

much thanks for the tutorial video

i’m just having trouble executing it during a match since i don’t have the muscle memory down yet, but the possibilities with this technique are pretty exciting.

Holy crap thats a nice way to do it, lol thx. I’m a have to get use to it, but man pretty efficient.

i don’t know how to break the habit of headbutting after c.mk

Should I just slap myself for not ticking into HHS after c.mk? it’s just a habit now :frowning:

this tutorial is what got me into playing honda. but i do have a question, can you jab xx hands jab xx hands on any op? or is that blanka specific?

cause for the life of me i can’t hit that in training mode. i’m getting the other variations off it down pretty well but i can’t get that one.

You can only hhs x2 certain character with a wider base or if your jab is deep enough.

If it something your consistent in with no chance of whiffing (Unless you have cr.mk xx hhs down) then stick with the Cr.MK xx Headbutt.

Thing with Honda is that you need to have a know how for what buttons to press and when. Say your fighting a character that doesn’t have a good Anti-air game would you rather go for Hands or score a knock down to get more damage in the later part of the match?

It seems like with Shoto’s at least, the more time they spend on the ground the better. But with someone like C.Viper, I’m guessing the c.mk xx HHS is actually worth more.

ty sir. back to HHS tick practice

Hey Mr. SNK. I had the honor of doing a Honda v. Honda with you in Championship mode last night. You peaced me out. Does that make you a bad teacher?

Your :lp::hp::mp::lp::hp: method really stepped up my game. Thanks man.

Oh damn I didn’t know that was you! GG’s!

For anyone still having problems with :lp: combos, try this method: :lp::mp: - :lp::mp: - :hp:. I find that mentally breaking it up into 3 parts makes it easier for me. It might take some time if you’re ‘dexterity-challenged’ like me, but if I can do it anyone can do it.

I practice this and practice it but I still can’t get it to come out all that reliably - worse yet when I mess up I often do a jab then nothing comes out and I leave myself open AND miss out on another attack.

The result is that I end up just mashing for that HHS in a real match. I’m going to try the above method because it puts less emphasis on my ring finger which is weak.

This is how i do it now… Thanks to Deci who mentioned it earlier… lol using plinking or tsuji or watnot. BUT i do it slightly differently.

piano lp, mp, hp, hp + lk very fast x 3. I dunno why 3 and it makes no sense(much like this game most of the time), but it works for me at almost a 90% clip. shrugs

It’s good to see my video is finally paying off by letting others branch out and think of their own methods from practice. That right there is the heart of fighting games. Thinking on your own.

If you never plan on going to tourneys I guess you could always opt for turbo - I don’t think it’s much different than using the 3p/3k buttons - I guarantee you most of the Zangiefs online are mashing 1 button to do lariat.

first off, thanks for the great videos. I was only able to get the j f m j f a couple times, but using the slide method I was able to do it pretty consistently, sliding from j m f m f, but in the long run would it be worthwhile to build up the muscle memory for the piano method? Is the sliding method bad for the buttons at all since I’m assuming they weren’t meant to be pushed that way? thanks

nm, the piano method is gradually starting to work more and more, I just need practice I guess =)

Edit: I removed this post cuz I don’t think this method is a good habit to get into

Perhaps you haven’t seen sliding the earth… That’s already been disclosed in a vid someone made.

Ok I’m finally starting to get about 50% of my pianoing in training, although sliding I get around 80-90%. I found a good training method for everyone having trouble doing the piano fast enough, hopefully it helps. I noticed in the inputs that when I did it fast things would get sloppy and sometime medium HHS would come out or ex would come out, so I started doing this:

Do 1 full piano motion one finger at a time with clean inputs, then do a sudden burst as fast as I could. I just did this over and over, one slow, one fast, and all of sudden, all my fast ones had perfect inputs and the jab-f HHS was coming out 80%-90% of the time. hopefully this helps somebody. It’s still not consistent when I do it without the slow prep first, but it’s definitely getting better, and I think it’s a great muscle memory building exercise.

I can’t get the piano thing to work for me at all. I can make it so that HHS comes out, but never fast enough to combo off the jab. The slide method works perfectly well though, I’m using that for everyone with a mash combo now…

btw I’ve noticed that it’s easier to combo standing jab into f. HHS, and the frame data seems to back this up, so in that case wouldn’t st. jab> HHS> RH be a more reliable punish when you are in range (during focus crumple for example)?
